Where is the ignition switch on a 85 Ford Bronco II?

You must first remove the steering column covers. Once they are out of place you will see the actual ignition switch located on the RH upper portion of the steering shaft area. Remove the plug in from the switch by lifting up on the clips at either end of the socket tabs and wiggling the wiring socket free from the switch. To remove the switch, first take a punch and hammer. Center the punch on the head of what looks like a rivet and strike it firmly a couple of times with the hammer. Then using a good pair of pliers, or preferably a pair of vise grips clamp the jaws firmly and unscrew the mounting screws that hold the switch to the column in place. The installation is just reverse of the removal procedure, other than you don't have to strick the screw heads once back in place, just be sure they are tightened securly. When putting the covers back over the column, be sure to install the upper one first. It won't go on no matter how hard you try if the bottom half is installed first. Believe me, I just changed mine out this last week.

if the distributor is in the back of the engine it will be hard to see. so you might have to stand on the bumper and lean over the engine, it should be at the base of the distibutor where it meets the housing. if you feel with your fingers you will find it. sometimes it requires a special wrench to get at hard to reach angles and sometimes not . you'll be able to figure it out, just be carefull if you have the motor running.

How do you replace headlights on a Ford Bronco 2?

If it is an early bronco, the easiest way is to remove the grill. There are approximately 8 screws around the grill. This will let you get to the retainer screws and the bulb just plugs in. This is the suggested way from the better repair manual for the broncos. If it is the later bronco, there is a retainer on the back side of the headlight shell that can be turned about a quarter turn to release the bulb, it is separate from the headlight reflector. You might have to remove the battery or reach down along side the washer reservoir to reach the retainer, and if the bulb hasn't been removed for awhile, the retainer might stick. The retainers have been known to break, they are plastic and do run hot, but they are available at most car part stores.
