your 89 jeep, i assume, is a yj model. I too had a 1990 yj jeep wrangler. any yj model seat will fit, that's from 89 - 95. I have a few spare seats from yj's and even cj's (they'll fit too) lying around,
YJ is 87-95 (direct bolt in) It will also take a CJ7 frame-the seatt risers (seat frames) are identical
Three things come to mind. U-joint,axel bearings, and differential spider gear. Probably not u-joint as turning would be no factor to vary the noise. Possible axel bearings but if they are that bad they should be making noise such as a groweling sound all the time. With your description of the thunk when turning, it sounds like something internal like the spider gears, or the positraction clutches (if you have posi or limited slip rear end). The more I think about it, if you get one thunk, then it probably is the clutches. Good luck RR
you can get a kit from summit racing and you will have to change the trans also you need to get drive shafts shorted
Where are the VIN located on 1989 ford bronco?

Will a Ford Ranger 4 wheel drive 5 speed transmission work in a Bronco 2 4wheel drive?
Most likely. I did just the opposite switch. YOu may have to adjust the driveshaft length, but other than that not too bad.
the v6 2.9 litre ford motors cam,e with aluminum heads and after a few years of wear and tear and constant heat they tend to expand and contract until the warp or crack and no longer seal well causing them to leak or blow the motor.
Did a denver bronco ever have the number 34?
Darius Walker currently wears number 34 Others that have worn #34 for the Broncos are RB Reuben Droughans (2002-2004), DB Tyrone Braxton (1987-1993 and 1995-1999), RB Raymond Harris (2000), DB Gus Holloman (1968-1969), RB Nathan Poole (1982-1983, 1985), and RB Don Stone (1961-1964).
Vacuum lines on a ford 5.0 302?
Depending on the year of the 302 and the vehicle, vacuum lines run all over the engine compartment, and under the dash. With a vacuum leak the engine could idle high or run rough, or the heat and ac controls may not operate properly.
What could cause a 1991 Bronco 351 5.8 to turn over but not start?
If your engine turns but does not start, first check your interier fuel reset button located, inside under dash driver side on firewall between brake pedle and fuse box. If red button is up, push down to reset. This is there for the event of a colloison or need to do repairs on fuel system. Second, check for spark. To do this remove a plug wire and hold to a ground point (best done with very little light) if you see spark or get a ZAP well you got spark. Third, check or replace fuel relay Located (under the hood drivers side mounted on the back side of your breather) that part cost about 12 dollars. Fourth, if none of the above works check for a fault in the manafold system. O i almost forgot dont forget about your fuel filter you should check that first. I hope that helps you. And if that dont work, make sure that you check fule all areas of your fuel system (pressuer, regulator, fule pump etc.
How do you change the ignition lock dashboard mount in a 1979 F100 keys are lost?
Go down to the local Advance Auto and pick up an ignition switch #S77($13.48) and a ignition lock cylinder #LC14($5.93). With a little work and a whack on the counter the cylinder will go into the switch. (Thanks for helping, Eric!) Back home, use a slot screwdriver and a hammer (there is actually a tool for this I'm sure) to remove the retainer for the ignition from the dashboard. When it comes off the switch is loose. Drop it out from the dash and remove the plug. Plug in the new switch/cylinder setup, slip it into place in the dash and spin the retainer back on. It will probably require the help of another person to hold the switch in order to tighten the retainer down so the switch doesn't spin as you once again use the slot screwdriver and hammer.
The way to test the gauge is to unhook the wires to the sender and the gauge should read empty. Now, ground the sensor wire and the gauge should go all the way past the full level. If this happens your wiring and gauge are fine.
How do you replace the fuel pump located on a 1989 Ford Bronco?
I have a 1986 Bronco XLT. That has a 302 5.0L V-8 wEFI.
Now I will mention that I just did this very thing to my own Bronco last month,. or in December 2005.
The Fuel PUMP is located down inside the Fuel Tank. It is connected to the hanger assembly and sending unit. I highly recommend that you do not buy the pump as an individual unit, as it will prove to be too cost restrictive when you realize the other components and see their condition you will truly understand the need for their replacement also.
This item can be purchased online at autozone.com cheaper than anywhere else in the US right now. You I purchased mine last month for $99.00. + $10 dollars for S+H for 2 day delivery. a total of 108 dollars... The Fuel pump by itself will run you that and then some anywhere else. In fact, most other places the pump alone runs well over the $200.00 mark. Just be sure to look for a MASTER FUEL PUMP for your 1989 FORD TRUCK BRONCO. If you go through Autozone.com like I did, mine INCLUDED: FUEL PUMP, HANGER ASSEMBLY, AND STRAINER and the NEW SENDING UNIT and O-ring seal already to drop into your tank.
The tank is another area of consideration... Think about the fact that it is nearly 20 years old... While it is out of the vehicle, it should at least be cleaned, ie "boiled out" at a very minimum before being reinstalled.
I've seen the cost on this service exceed the 200.oo mark and myself opted to buy a brand new tank. I suggest that you contact Mark at BroncoGraveyard.com tell him Jack McCann out in Washington sent you. At the Broncograveyard, A New 33 gallon steel tank cost's $99.00 or a plastic tank runs around $120.00.. either one with shipping is still less than cleaning the one you have. They do cost more, actually anywhere from 50 to 100% more at most other places. Also, do not be fooled by the name into thinking the bronco "graveyard" is for old or used parts. All of my components are Brand New OE and OEM Parts.
I would recommend having a friend help you here, but you can do this by yourslef as long as you have a floor jack nearby to help support the weight of the tank. This will be even more important in lifting it back up and holding it and balancing and shifting it around, while reinstalling the straps and bolts and skid plate.
Now, you can either drain the tank to make it lighter to work with. Although it is not required. I did mine with it half full or with 18+ gallons left in it anyway. Personally I disposed of my gas by giving it to a friend who has an old carburated vehicle.
A} First thing you will want to do is disconnect the negative battery cable.
B} Now your ready to remove the Skid Plate covering the tank.
C} Keeping in mind that their are two pipe lines and a vapor return line connected on the top of the tank which you should carefully disconnect {remembering, or marking which went where} along with disconnecting the filler inlet hose at the filler gate door.
D} Once the bolts are removed holding the tank straps, it is time to lower the tank from from the vehicle.
Now that the tank is down on the ground, you will need to loosen and remove the LOCK ring from around the Hanger Assembly and pull it out of the tank. After you inspect this component you'll see why I tried to explain all of the above to you first. Installing only a new pump or even reinstalling the complete new assembly as discussed above, into the old dirty, grimy, crusty, rusted out tank is clearly a waste of your time and money.
Putting this back is pretty much in reverse order.
Happy Motoring
How do you replace fuel gauge sending unit 1988 ford bronco?
First un hook your battery completely, and make sure your tank is nearly completely empty, makes the job easier. Drop the gas tank, take the high pressure fuel lines loose ( you need a special tool you can get at your local auto parts store) un hook all the wire from the sending unit there is a locking ring you will need to loosen with a hammer, and maybe a screw driver. then the sending unit will pop right out, un fortunately you have to replace the entire unit. $$$ This is a good time to clean up your tank and maybe coat it with under coating or spray paint it.
Will a Mustang V8 engine fit in a 1994 Ford Tempo?
You do not have to worry about wiring hanresses. There are a couple ways around that issue, one being carburetion and the other a standalone ECU. In order to give the car structural support for the 302, you just build a chassis. The first thing to do in this case is to design the chassis. To keep the existing ride height you'd want to have the chassis step up in the front and back to hold the suspension at the right height. To make the chassis, buy chassis rail, cut it at the right lengths and angles and weld it together, of course making sure it's as straight as it can get and clamp it in place. Then, drill holes in the chassis to fasten the body and drill corresponding holes in the body. After this is done fasten the body to the frame to make sure everything fits right and if some holes don't line up you can drill new ones close by. Then unbolt it and begin suspension work on the chassis. For front suspension I would recommend double-wishbone IFS from a Mustang II, modified to fit. Make the mounts and weld them on. For the rear I would recommend a 9 inch with an LSD or a Detroit Locker. You can modify fox body engine mounts to fir the motor and the same for the transmission, or even design the chassis so it fits the mounts with no modification. Also, I'd put coilover shocks in the front and rear. For the engine I would use a junkyard 302 rebuilt if stock were the idea, but personally I'd rather skip that if it were affordable and use a Dart iron block and IHS iron heads, then go all out with a forged rotating assembly, all ARP bolts and ARP head and main studs, Comp Cams or Crane camshaft, chromemoly pushrods, solid roller lifters, adjustable roller rockers, dual or triple valve springs, titanium valve spring retainers, and similar performance goods, plus a couple Vortech V24 Z trim superchargers running about 40-50 combined psi. But that takes money. It would make one heck of a sleeper, though. That engine mill would probably run around $15K. Now, the tranny could be a C4, a C6 with an aftermarket bellhousing to mate it to the small block Ford, or just about any type of manual. If it were manual I'd go with a 5 speed Mustang tranny or a Tranzilla, but the Tranzilla is more fitting with the twin blown $15K engine. Also, that same engine could be built for quite a bit less if good used parts are incorporated, such as Dart blocks from a race car switching to a different engine type, etc. After it's all put together, you put on the body. Most likely the hood won't fit, but don't just cut a hole for the filter, you'll regret it. I'd make a sheet metal cowl and weld it on, personally, although you can go fiberglass, too. Also, you could use a dry sump oil pan and use as low an intake manifold as you can find, and an air box to surround the carburetor as opposed to carb hats if you go carbureted. When it's all said and done, such a light and powerful car would be super fast, and you'd probably want a roll cage, too. Anyway, the whole thing isn't for most people, and it would be much cheaper and easier to just buy a fox body, but if you're not discouraged yet then go ahead and build it.
Where can i find fuse box diagram for 89 ford bronco 2?
You can find the fuse box diagram, for your 1989 Ford Bronco, by taking the fuse box cover off. The diagram of the fuses is on the bottom of the cover.
It was my TPS sensor. base voltage was reading .5V too high.
How do you get the abs light off in 1996 ford bronco?
Make sure the brake fluid reservoir is full and the terminal on the side of the reservoir is plugged in. The terminals may need to be cleaned to ensure good contact. Disconnect the battery to reset the computer.
If that does not do it a further inspection of the speed sensors and tone rings are in order. check all three sensors located in the left and right front hubs "the back of"
the third is located on the top of the rear diff, check for whear and damage but more important is foreign debris. look through the mounting hole as you spin the tires you will be able to see the Tone rings. check them for damage. if all is well then its time to have a shop do a detailed sensor scan, good luck!
Is the bell housing the same on a Ford 460 and a Ford 351?

Your 1988 bronco will not disengage out of 4x4 when you push the button?
If you are in 4LO, you will need to shift into neutral to go into 4HI and then you may press the 4x4 button to go back to 2WD. If you try this and the buttons are simply not working, it could either be the push-button system (sometimes they freeze up in cold weather) or the transfer case itself (try checking the fluid).
