Escapes were made with the option of a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine or a 3.0 liter V6

To change the transmission filter on a 2003 Ford Escape, first, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and raise it securely using jack stands. Drain the transmission fluid by removing the transmission pan bolts and carefully lowering the pan to avoid spillage. Replace the old filter, ensuring the new one is properly seated, then clean the pan and replace the gasket before reattaching the pan. Finally, refill the transmission with the appropriate fluid through the dipstick tube.

According to the 2009 Ford Escape Owner Guide ( 5W-20 )

With engine oil filter change :

The 2.5 liter four cylinder engine takes ( 5.3 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 )

The 3.0 , V6 , takes ( 6.0 quarts )

I had to do this today, believe me there's nothing to it. Take out the top 2 screws on the bezel (the black housing) around the gauges etc. then remove it, you might have to pry the bottom of it with a blade screwdriver but no big deal, just be careful not to pry too hard and break or crack the bezel. After it's removed you'll see 4 more screws holding the gauge cluster in place, they are 7mm the same size as the ones in the bezel. Remove these and the cluster will pull out plenty far enough for you to get behind it and then locate the cream colored sockets, turn them a quarter turn counter clockwise, this releases the socket, then take out the shot bulb, replace it and reverse the project. Believe me I've been dreading this but it's a piece of cake. Now I have heard that after 2007 Ford doesn't use bulbs anymore and I'm not sure if that's true but you are in the clear. Hope this helps.

I guess the bulb has run but that doesn't seem very likely if it was just one week ? And it seems unusual for a car to leave the light on after it being locked ? it simply be a falt in the car. It coukld depend hoq old the car is is it a second hand car or a new one ? If you are rather worried and it causes difficulty for you in any way then you should contact somone who knows about this sort of thying or the maker or whoever it was who sold it to you. this is only one of many but if you do go with something reputable cause you dont want to have to replace due to poor quality, and make sure to get a bi-xenon h-13 bulb (high and low beam) for the 08 escape

If it is an xlt v6 easy to change remove bottom cover using 10mm socket then using 3/8 inch ratchet and long plumbing pipe for leverage under the car place ratchet into belt tenioner and rotate CW remove belt and replace you may have to cut off the old belt and remove the tensioner turn bolt CCW to remove tensioner.

I think it is the seatbelt warning light. Buckle your seatbelt and it will go off.

The inner front driveshaft joints are seizing (one or both). No real way of telling which one unless there in external boot damage. Flip a coin or be prepared to possibly replace both driveshafts with rebuilds.

Could be lower balljoints and or outer tierod ends, tire out of balance, bent wheel, broken motor mount, bad CV or U joint.

Check the fuse box. . .the one by the engine, not the interior. There's a fuse that controls those 3 things. Think its a 5amp one.
