Where is the speedometer fuse located in a ford ranger?

I believe the fuse that protects the speedometer also protects all the gauges in the dash cluster, so if that fuse was burned out all the gauges would be dead. If only the speedometer is not working I would suspect the speed sensor in the transmission to at fault, if the wiring checks okay.

Where is the fuel pump fuse located in a 1990 Toyota Camry?

There is no fuse that can be pulled out from the fuse box. You must remove the car radio and cup holder to gain access to a relay connector. If you are changing the fuel filter, disconnect the relay. This will cut the power to the fuel pump. Next, attempt to start the car 2-3 times to purge the remaining fuel in the system. Now it is safe to remove the fuel filter.

Where is the solenoid switch on a 1999 Ford Ranger?

All of the late-model Ford Rangers have a starter with a solenoid, and the older models have a remote starter solenoid. Both are covered. The remote starter solenoid is located on the passenger-side fenderwell. This means that a small-sized starter can fit in tighter locations. It also allows for a cheaper repair if just the solenoid goes bad.

If you accidentally poured a small amount of power steering fluid instead of motor oil will it cause damage?

I would replace that unfortunate mixture with fresh power steering fluid using the recommended fluid for the type of vehichle. Some use ATF (automatic transmission fluid) or Mineral Type fluid or most commomly regular Power Steering Fluid. Now...to change the old fluid. Find the return line to the reservoir. This line will be near the top of the the reservoir and under much less pressure than the feed/suction line. With the engine OFF...disconnect the return line from the reservoir. Have a helper hold this hose into a bucket. Start the engine...do not rev it! SLOWLY turn the steering wheel all of the way to right..then all the way to the left..then return it to the center position. Turn off the engine. This will empty the system. NEXT..put the return hose back on and secure it. Fill the reservoir with new fluid and replace the cap. Start the engine and repeat the wheel turning step once again. Stop the engine and check the fluid level. Fill the reservoir to the specified level. PRESTO!!! You should be in good shape as far as the power steering fluid. . John In Montana

How do you repair the tail lights on a pull behind trailer?

Sounds like you've got a burnt-out taillight bulb.

  1. 1 - go to your local auto parts store and ask them to look up a taillight bulb for your make, model and year, and buy it.
  1. 2 - Access the tail-light bulb holder by opening up the tail light from *inside* the trunk of the car. (This is trickier than I've written here...but I don't have a Toyota Avalon so I can give exact instructions). This usually involves a flat head screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver and a wrench at most for tools. With many tail lights, there are a few screws to undo, or even just clips to unclip from inside the trunk to pull the bulb-holder out of the light housing.
  1. 3 - Remove the burnt out bulb and insert the new one.
  1. 4 - Have a friend look to see that your brake light goes off when you stomp on the brake. (Or use a large mirror, angled so you can see it from the driver's seat to do the test yourself.)

If it works, voila! If it doesn't, you've got electrical issues...or bought a burnt out bulb. To test the bulb, you can slip it into the working tail-light housing on the other side and test it...

How do air bags prevent injuries?

There are three parts to an airbag system. There is the bag which is made of nylon and folded into the dash or steering wheel, a sensor that detects a collision force, and the inflation system. When the sensor triggers the system, sodium azide and potassium nitrate combine and almost instantaneously create a large volume of nitrogen gas which inflates the bag in less than 1/10 of a second.

How di the shift to steam power lead to the growth of the cities?

Steam power contributed to the growth of cities in at least two ways.

The first and most important way was that it provided a consistent source of power for factories. Prior to steam power, factories were limited by scale and location of flowing water sources. With steam power factories grew larger and required more workers. Pay was also much better at the factory than farming which lured the rural populations to the factories. The workers settled lands near the factories creating towns and cities.

Steam power also created an effective method of transportation, the Steam Train. The train allowed transportation of goods large distances allowing cities to gather resources from a larger area. By increasing the cities resources their size was able to increase beyond the limits set by surrounding farmland..

How do you replace front rotors on a 2004 expedition xlt?

Removing Front & Rear Rotors Well Guys...

I remove my Front & Rear Rotors out of my 1998 Ford Expedition XLT.

I rented a 3 Jaw Puller from Auto Zone and a bottle of PB Blaster and a sledge hammer it only took about one hour or less to take both off...

The way I removed the Front & Rear Rotors was ...

1. I put lots of PB Blaster in the back and the front of the rotors to be removed.

2. I put plenty of tension with the 3 Jaw Puller...

3. I hit the back of the rotor with the sledge hammer...

And it came right off...

Hope this helps someone out there...

How does a Honda all wheel drive?

One would imagine the car uses, like the Jeep, grandaddy of all practical 4X4"s though there was a Heer Engine Company Four wheel drive tractor in the teens, for those old-timers out there. The system uses two differentials- one forward and one aft and a centrally located gearbox (transmission) in the driving compartment with usually two shift levers- one for the normal selection of gears, the other, sometimes called a transfer case, to cut in the front differential for maximum traction.- four wheel drive. I once saw a full-size sectional model of this at the Auto show explaining exactly how the Jeep Transmission functions- Educational to say the least. One hastens to add there were a number of trucks and one sports car (Alfa-Romeo) that had two drive shafts and two differentials but were NOT Four wheel drive- but had counter-rotating shafts to equalize torque, when accelerating this gave a most melodious sound like a steel guitar- Blooooommm! alas- no long serviceable, like the tiger"s tail on oil trucks supposed to allay fire hazards.
