Well it takes 3 things for an engine to run,fuel,air and fire. I would start checking the fuel pump output first as you said it had fire

timing belt broke if you checked all the fuel,air,fire

I believe the fuse that protects the speedometer also protects all the gauges in the dash cluster, so if that fuse was burned out all the gauges would be dead. If only the speedometer is not working I would suspect the speed sensor in the transmission to at fault, if the wiring checks okay.

very simple remove 2 screws holding housing around lever, then u can access switch without any problem i think only remove 2 taps. i worked on my 99 ranger this should be same.

There is no fuse that can be pulled out from the fuse box. You must remove the car radio and cup holder to gain access to a relay connector. If you are changing the fuel filter, disconnect the relay. This will cut the power to the fuel pump. Next, attempt to start the car 2-3 times to purge the remaining fuel in the system. Now it is safe to remove the fuel filter.

All of the late-model Ford Rangers have a starter with a solenoid, and the older models have a remote starter solenoid. Both are covered. The remote starter solenoid is located on the passenger-side fenderwell. This means that a small-sized starter can fit in tighter locations. It also allows for a cheaper repair if just the solenoid goes bad.

I would replace that unfortunate mixture with fresh power steering fluid using the recommended fluid for the type of vehichle. Some use ATF (automatic transmission fluid) or Mineral Type fluid or most commomly regular Power Steering Fluid. Now...to change the old fluid. Find the return line to the reservoir. This line will be near the top of the the reservoir and under much less pressure than the feed/suction line. With the engine OFF...disconnect the return line from the reservoir. Have a helper hold this hose into a bucket. Start the engine...do not rev it! SLOWLY turn the steering wheel all of the way to right..then all the way to the left..then return it to the center position. Turn off the engine. This will empty the system. NEXT..put the return hose back on and secure it. Fill the reservoir with new fluid and replace the cap. Start the engine and repeat the wheel turning step once again. Stop the engine and check the fluid level. Fill the reservoir to the specified level. PRESTO!!! You should be in good shape as far as the power steering fluid. . John In Montana

It's in the On-Board computer and isn't replaceable. its built-in to the alternator. Both of you are wrong!I bought one from Auto Zone it's kinda triangle shaped and flat! smaller than a pack of smokes.The guy at auto Zone told me it was on the fire wall at the back of the engine but i can't find it.It cost about $20.This is a good question! I need to know also so please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

all you have to do to get out the old one is there is a hole on bolth sides of the stero and if you get a hanger it will normally work and you just have to pull it out i thought i was going to break some thing but it was all good

Which one? the are on the side of the block and sometimes behind the transmission. The only time they would need to be changed is if they are leaking. Unless you are installing a heater.

Removing Front & Rear Rotors Well Guys...

I remove my Front & Rear Rotors out of my 1998 Ford Expedition XLT.

I rented a 3 Jaw Puller from Auto Zone and a bottle of PB Blaster and a sledge hammer it only took about one hour or less to take both off...

The way I removed the Front & Rear Rotors was ...

1. I put lots of PB Blaster in the back and the front of the rotors to be removed.

2. I put plenty of tension with the 3 Jaw Puller...

3. I hit the back of the rotor with the sledge hammer...

And it came right off...

One would imagine the car uses, like the Jeep, grandaddy of all practical 4X4"s though there was a Heer Engine Company Four wheel drive tractor in the teens, for those old-timers out there. The system uses two differentials- one forward and one aft and a centrally located gearbox (transmission) in the driving compartment with usually two shift levers- one for the normal selection of gears, the other, sometimes called a transfer case, to cut in the front differential for maximum traction.- four wheel drive. I once saw a full-size sectional model of this at the Auto show explaining exactly how the Jeep Transmission functions- Educational to say the least. One hastens to add there were a number of trucks and one sports car (Alfa-Romeo) that had two drive shafts and two differentials but were NOT Four wheel drive- but had counter-rotating shafts to equalize torque, when accelerating this gave a most melodious sound like a steel guitar- Blooooommm! alas- no long serviceable, like the tiger"s tail on oil trucks supposed to allay fire hazards.
