Where is the dpfe sensor located on the 2001 explorer sport 2wd?
On the 4.0 L OHV engine, the DPFE sensor is located on the driver's side of the engine. It is mounted on the side of the upper "plastic" intake manifold, directly below the idle air control valve. It is a small rectangular box with an electrical plug in connection on the front and 2 vacuum hoses connecting to the bottom. Originally they were made of metal, but I believe they are a plastic body now.
My 2001 Windstar was making the same chirping noise around the belt drive area. It sounded like a bearing going bad so I ended up replacing the idler pulley/bearing, the tensioner pulley/bearing and still the chirp persisted. I used a stethoscope (broomhandle) to listen to the water pump and heard the chirp emanating from that area so I replaced the water pump thinking that I finally had found the cause, NOT. Right next to the water pump toward the engine is the camshaft sensor mounted on a synchronizer, which looks like the old distributor drives. This unit has a bushing I believe (didn't tear it apart, returned to part house for core charge) on the top end that was going bad. Sychronizer price at local Ford dealer $280, Autozone $60
Diagnostic tipIf you get a cam sensor code, or if you've been hearing a squeak noise like a belt chirp that doesn't go away when you replace the belt. If so, use a prybar or similar tool to press down
Honda Man's AnswerRound up all the usual suspects....The first thing to check is the serpentine belt, since the noise goes away after the vehicle warms up this is the most likely culprit. If the spring loaded belt tensioner is getting weak, it may not be holding enough tension on the belt, the noise could go away after the belt is warm and grips a little better. When replacing the belt it is a good idea to turn all of the pulleys for the accessories and feel for roughness or noise, before putting the replacement belt on.
AnswerIt sounds like your belt could be slipping. If there is a lot of "play" in the belt then it is time to replace it. Another possibility is that your water pump is getting ready to go. It is just impossible to say without first seeing it first hand. Hope this helps.
on the synchro. If the noise goes away replace both the sensor and the synchro.
Where is the transmission control unit on a 2002 vw passat?
TCU is located under the carpet ( Passenger ) Right side Att . Alejandro Miller githo7.com . I need one, please message me at my e-mail if you have a transmission control unit.
Check the battery. If there isn't enough of a charge in the battery it could be a faulty battery or a faulty alternator. If you have a meter, test the voltage across the batttery terminals, it should show slightly over 12 volts and when you attempt to start the engine it should not drop more than 1 or 2 volts. If that's the case, have someone help you jump start the engine and take the vehicle to a shop or to an auto parts retailer who can thoroughly test the charging system for you.
Introduction to Brakes Basics for a Ford Windstar?

How do you get the brake light to turn off on your 2003 ford windstar van?
If you're talking about the 2 lights on your dash, it's a defect in the ABS control module. It took me 2 whole days to fix this, including cutting open the module, resoldering the joints, and reassembling everything. Hopefully, for everyone's sake, Ford will issue a recall on this, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
The light only means that the ABS module isn't working at that moment, though. Your brakes will still work fine so as long as you don't lose traction on slick road, you can ignore the (albeit annoying) brake lights.

Why did heat stop working on 2000 Ford Windstar?
A common problem is that the blend door actuator or the blend door itself will break.
The blend door actuator is just a small motor that opens a vent to allow the warm air to flow, it is cheap and fairly easy to replace with a radio removal tool. A professional could do the repair in less than 15 minutes.
See "Related Questions" below for more information on the actuator motor repairs many others have done.
However, on my 1999 Ford Windstar, the blend door itself broke. This repair is more costly and more difficult, perhaps $700 to $1000 to replace. I just tied a shoestring to my blend door.
When you insert the blend door actuator if there is no slot for it the door is broken and you are up sh... creak. Hope it is the former.
Another option is from a company called HeaterTreater - a method to repair a broken blend door without removing the dash. I haven't tried it, but the ideas behind it seem to make sense - and they have lots of videos showing the processes.

Why would a 95 Ford Taurus blow a mist through the inside vents?
Hey Mike==If your car has A/C when it is exceptionally humid outside, it is common for the vents to blow some vapor. It is generally more visible when the sun is shining inside the car. Nothing wrong. GoodluckJoe

Why does the needle on the coolant temperature gauge of a 1995 Saturn SL stay on the C?
The guage on the dash uses the ONE wire sensor... This is located in the block near the drivers side. Eric First check to see if you have coolant in the radiator. If there is no coolant you will not get any reading from the temperature sensor. If there is coolant then change the temperature sensor.

it may be a neutral safety switch either mis-aligned or bad, among other things. try putting your vehicle on neutral and see if it cranks sometimes when you put the vehicle on park the shift "stick" line up correctly all the way. Other reasons may be a bad relay,a bad ground, bad battery conection, and or bad ignition switch, ect. The neutral "lockout" switch could have failed, the starter may have a bad connection or have failed, there could be a security system that is not working properly.
