Where do i start with codes for a 2002 ford windstar codes p0136 p0141 p0171 p0174?
I'm not exactly sure about the 136 and 141 codes, but the 171 and 174 are symptomatic of a known problem with Windstar 3.8 litre engines.
Those codes combined with rough idle are prime indicators of a leaking upper intake manifold involving worn out "isolator bolts".

How do you replace motor mounts on a 1995 wimdstar gl?
frist you need to jack up the car puting it on jack stands and blocking the rear wheels.then you would use a jack and a board to raise the motor. Before you go any farther, you need to support the motor from above. there is a 3 legged stand that can be bought at your parts store. It rest on the fenders and front of the car. use chains to keep the motor secured from above. when this is done, take the mounts loose and replace. brewski I would add get the fan motors off, and THEN reach the top nut in the motor mount. The top nut may spin if mount is separated, use vise grips. Long extension with a wobbly and a thin wall socket, 1/2" impact to remove.

What is the average cost of repairing automatic transmission for 1998 Voyager van?
What kind of repair are we talking? However, The cost of replacing a part is a very general question that unless specified exactly is hard to answer. First, is who is replacing the part? Is the Dealer, an independent repair shop, a junkyard, the guy next door or you doing the replacement. These will all yield different prices. Not to mention that within all of these will be different labor rates and different part price mark ups. Second, what is the quality of the part? Is it a name brand, generic (white box, economy), OEM or used part? All of these will be different. Price will even differ between name brands, sometimes significantly. Thirdly, What is the warranty of the part and who is offering the warranty (the shop the parts house or the manufacturer). Limited Lifetime will have restrictions. Lifetime warranty isnt always the best part either. Fourthly, Each vehicle can have different options that will affect how long it takes to change a part or make it call for a different part. Such as heavy duty cooling system, air conditioning, 4x4s may have a steel plate that may need removal
In other words, I don't know the answer.
to rebuilt a transmission on a voyager, it costs about $1200, but you can get a rebuilt one for only $850. plus, consider the labor....
Spark plug gap Oldsmobile acheiva 1997?
I would disregard this issue on a car of this age. Widespread use of electronic, contactless ignition and various fuel injection systems has, in my opinion, created an environment where spark characteristics are not of such importance (as when the contact breaker/surpressor and carburettor were common). Data is given for spark plug gaps but personally, I have never found it necessary to adjust plug gaps if you fit new plugs (the data books often give a figure between 1.2mm - 0.8mm). If you are experiencing problems with the way the engine runs then if new plugs are fitted I would focus my attention elsewhere. If you have any more problems I would be happy to asisst in any way I can.

2003 ford windstar serpentine belt installation?
This was posted on another wiki site - it really helped me with replacing the belt on our van: I am not sure which engine you have as you did not indicate. If it is the 3.8 it is very easy. There are only 3 bolts holding it on. There is 1 plug and 1 battery (hot wire connected to it). First start by disconnecting the positive cable from the battery as to avoid any electrical shorting, this will clear any codes and the check engine light if it was on. Then remove the nut from the single wire on top of the alternator. Screw the nut back on so you dont loose it. Then for the plug, just push in on the drivers side of it and pull up and it will come off. Then grab the backside of the belt the runs from the top of the alternator towards the back of the van, pull real hard on it towards the front of the van, (be careful not to pinch your fingers between the belt and the pulley) and the tensioner will give allowing you enough room to slide the belt off of the alternator. Then remove the 3 bolts the hold the alternator in place and whala it's off! When putting it back on put your bolts back in first, then hook up your wire and plug, and then make sure the belt is around all of the pulleys and lined up correctly and pull again towards the front of the van to slide it back on(again...(be careful not to pinch your fingers between the belt and the pulley). Hook the positive wire back up to the battery and then have an assitant to just bump "NOT START" the engine as to get the belts proparly aligned. Take a visual inspection and make sure the belts are positioned correctly on the pulleys and then go ahead and start the van. Good luck!

Where is - and how do you change the starter on a Ford Windstar?
First you will need to raise the car and put safety stands under it to prevent any possibility of falling. Also you must chock the rear wheels to keep the car from rolling and coming off the jack stands while up in the air. The car will want to roll when you are reefing on the bolts.
NOTE: Starter bolts are 13mm. Brakeline bracket bolt is 15mm.
While you have the starter off you have exposed the gear teeth on the edge of the flywheel. You should inspect the teeth as your problem could be these teeth and not the starter. Use a crayon or chalk to put a mark on the flywheel so you will know when you have turned it completely around. You can use a large screwdriver or some other tool to pry on these teeth and rotate the flywheel around, one complete revolution
The starter is located on the lower front of the engine and is visible thru the air duct.
Lower front of the engine, accessed from below.
Follow a rather large gauge wire leading down to the starter.
Disconnect the negative wire from the battery before removing the starter.
Disconnect connected wires, remove 2 mounting bolts.
Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, then remove the wire to the selenoid .
Remove the two bolts holding the starter, and with some manuvering the starter will come out of the vehicle. Reverse the process to install.
everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual available in the REFERENCE section...make copies of the right sections...good luck :)
The starter is located on the front of the engine near the bottom in the middle next to the transmission.
Bolts that hold the starter on: 3 - 15mm bolts and on some you also need to remove the 2- 8 mm bolts on the rear support on back of the starter
the starter is located in the front of the motor in the middle its in eye veiw in front of radiatorGeneral instructions for replacing a starter (2 mounting bolts):

What is the spark plug gap for a 1996 Chrysler intrepid?
.050 should do it for you. I have a replacement hood and no manual. Call the parts store - they are happy to quickly look it up for you. If you installed the plugs and have to re-adjust the gapping because it is running rough, you should be ok to use the same new plugs, just don't over tighten. Doug Bowman '96 Chrysler Intrepid w 308,000 km. :( sorry there doug but you are way off. your answer will most likely burn up someone's coil pack, wires and/or plugs not to mention bad performance at higher rpm's. the correct gap is (.035)". (.015)" extra gap will make a mess of an otherwise good tune-up. Folks, most plugs come from the factory pre-gapped. Simply check all the plugs and if they are consistently the same then most likely you have the correct gap for a stock engine providing you have the right plugs.
