How and what would you need to change your supercharger pulley on your 2000 Pontiac GTP to increase power?

You would need to remove the pulley and place a smaller pulley on to make the supercharger turn faster and pump more air. This can be done to a point but if you go too small without doing alot of other modifications to the intake and exhaust you will burn up your motor in no time. Check out the following website. http://www.gtpworld.com/index.html Read and learn from others mistakes. Hope this helps.

Change ashtray light in 2001 windstar lx?

I just changed the ashtray light in my 2000 Windstar LX. It is probably similar. Open the ashtray. Take a regular screwdriver and insert it between the top of the ashtray and the dash board in the center of the ashtray. There is a latch hidden there. Lift the screwdriver handle, which will press down on the latch. Then simply pull out the ashtray. It will be connected by the wires for the light. You can either disconnect the wires or carefully turn over the ashtray. When you turn it over you will see the light assembly attached to the wires. It snaps out of the ashtray. Then you can remove the light from the assembly by releasing the latches of both sides of the assembly. Then the light pulls straight out. Putting it back together is a little tricky. Once you have the new light installed and the light assembly put back together you need to reinstall the light assembly. This is a bit of trouble. Perhaps putting a piece of scotch tape around the assembly will help to get it aligned. It snaps back into place. Reconnect the wires if necessary and reinsert the ashtray.

What would cause no heat in front but heat in rear on a 1999 navigator?

Answer

This would be your AC Blend Door causing this problem. It is a door that seems to be notorious for breaking in ford/lincoln... Ours is doing the same thing and I haven't replaced it yet. You can google "Lincoln Navigator AC Blend Door Replacement" and there is a guy out there that has pictures on how to remove your dash in a ford forum. The dealer will charge anywhere from $1000~$1900 to fix this. You can get away without taking the dash apart if you go to this website (www.heatertreater.net) and do it his way using his part (he has videos). I would only perform this if you are scarred to turn to a wrench and have some good organizational skills...

Blend Door Problem

Your problem sounds like the common blend door problem on the Ford Expeditions, and Ford Explorer. The door is on a vertical axis and when it breaks, it can swing back and forth randomly giving heat or AC or nothing. The difference on acceleration is the force placed on the door swinging it one direction.

You can check the operation by fully opening the glove box, removing the actuator motor on top of the plenum box and examining the blend door axle (the actuator is under the unit on top of the hump behind the flexible black plastic cover. It is on top of the unit, behind the glove box in the 2002 F-350 though). Pictures of the common fail signature are available on the Related Links below. There are several "free" fixes that mostly are worth what you pay for them. The solution on the web site is solid and proven over hundreds of vehicles and will resolve the problem once and for all.

What is the spark plug gap on 99 Suburban 5.74WD?

Listed in your owners manual and under the hood on a placard. Also when you purchase the plugs they are pre-gapped at the factory. It is still a good idea to check them. The parts store can provide the proper gap.

What type of Spark plugs go in a 1998 ford windstar?

In order to get the Ford 100,000 replacement / service, be sure to use platinum plugs.

Many experts and knowledgeable people I have asked for brand recommendations, and it's unanimously in favor of the manufacturers brand - Motorcraft in the case of Ford products.

How do you change - replace a heater core on a Ford Windstar?

In all the Windstar models, basically removing just the lower heat ducts will provide clear access to the heater core.

See "Related Links" below for the Autozone.com online illustrated repair guide for replacing the heater core(s) on 1999-2003 Windstars

NOTE: Autozone now requires free registration to access the repair guides. More than worth the extra effort for these photo/illustrated instructions.

Note: the procedures are essentially the same for all model years of the Windstar mini-van.

NOTE #2: for a sense of pricing, Autozone has the front for around $55

Autozone has an on-line detailed & illustrated repair guide, including the heater core replacement procedures.

The good news for the Windstar is the entire dashboard does NOT have to be removed in order to replace this heater core! Seems most vehicles for many years make this a huge project - but the Windstar looks to be much less involved.

Sounds like you heater core I would not try to fix it yourself as it could be a big job, take it to your local rad shop would be the best.

AnswerReplacing the front heater core in the Windstar is much easier than a sedan type vehicle where the dashboard needs to come out to access the core.

Heater Core

Inspect | Replace

Drain the cooling system

Heater Housing

The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core. Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It is therefore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.

The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core.

Heater Core Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain access to the heater core. Remove the heater coolant hoses. Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped). Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps. Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing. To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps. When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

How do you change trans fluid on 1999 ford Windstar?

run your van on a ramp or just jack it up , you have two oil pans under your van one is your oil pan which is the pan that holds your oil the same with the transmission oil pan the difference between the two is one has a drain plug the other does not the one with the plug is the engine oil the other one is the trans pan you change the oil by removing 16 to 24 bolts that hold up your trans pan with your van jacked up you need loosen all the bolts removing the back ones or until fluid starts to drain then you slowly begin to take out the bolts from the back side and start removing the bolts from back to front until you have taken all the bolts out you need to leave one bolt up front so the pan does not fall and hit you cause your pan still has oil in it brake lose your pan remove it

DO you need a head gasket if oil is leaking into your water reserve?

90% sure of it. There is a known circumstance I read about once that could result in oil getting into the engine coolant... Had to be one of the Windstar forums or here at WikiAnswers, since the early 3.8l Windstar engines were so prone to head gasket leaks...

In the meantime and back to the more common causes... It could be either a bad gasket or a warped head. Either way, the gasket is going to be replaced.

Where is the fill for the 2001 Forester rear window washer tank?

Doesn't the rear window washer use the same reservoir as the windcreen washers? It does on my 1998 Forester. If I keep the reservoir topped up regularly I am never in want of liquid for washing the rear window.

***I had a 2001 (and now have a 2003) Forester. The front and rear share the same fill tank. The 'pickup' for the rear is set higher so tf the fluid level gets low the rear stops working first.

How difficult is it to change a fuel injector in a 2000 Ford Windstar?

This is a job that should be done very carefully, taking your time and not rushing. Disconnect your negative battery terminal. Remove the air cleaner and mass air flow tubing from the top side of the engine. Then you should have access to the fuel rail. The fuel rail will need to be depressurized. Remove the gas cap. Looking on the fuel rail locate the pressure nozzle (should have a small black cap on it which unscrews. Don't confuse this with the AC lines on the front (passenger) side of the engine. Using a small screwdriver wrapped in a rag (so you dont get sprayed with gasoline) push the needle valve on the pressure valve and hold til you dont hear a hissing sound. Then you will have to disconnect the fuel rail. It will be bolted down by 2 bolts (if i remember right) and once that is done remove the vacuum line from the pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Then you can carefully begin to slowly rock the fuel rail back and forth a bit at a time until the injectors pop out of their sockets at the intake manifold. Once you have the rail out you will need to get a complete o-ring set for the injectors. Each injector takes two o-rings. They just roll off with a small screwdriver. Replace the o-rings on the bottom of the injectors then take them off one at a time and replace the top o-ring then reinstall the injector into the fuel rail. then to the next one for top o-ring installation. Remember to coat the o-rings with just a bit of oil so they pop in place easily when you reinstall the injectors into the rail and intake manifold. Once you have replaced all of the o-rings you are now ready to reinstall the injectors into the intake manifold. Using the same rocking motion to remove the injectors and rail from the intake, reinstall the injectors into the intake. Fasten the fuel rail and replace the air cleaner and mass air low tubes. Then you will need to reconnect the negative battery terminal. After that you will need to locate the fuel shut off valve. It is located on the drivers side floorboard kick panel near the Emergency brake pedal. It is set into the kick panel and hads a red button. Insert your key into the ignition, turn to the "ON" position, and depress the red button. Then you can start the car. Make sure you replace the nozzle cover on the fuel rail pressure valve. Check for leaks. Car may run rough for the first minute or two.
