How do you get sticky residue from label off of suede?
Try using more sticky residue as most glues when solidified can be removed by slightly rubbing them or using the same glue to remove but be careful, just try it what is there to loose. TOUGH LOVE LARRY
I bought a gorgeous red suede jacket at a yard sale. Only one problem- when I removed the giant masking tape price tag - it left a big patch of residue. Here's how I was able to remove it ... I applied packing tape to the area, pressed it down very hard & then pulled it up. I did that 4 times & you can not tell there was ever a problem in that area. Whew! CLEVER SHEL
Can muriatic acid be use to remove soap scum from tile on a shower wall?
Muriatic acid certainly would remove it but not recommended. The acid might cause damage to the grout or even etch the tile. I would use one of the milder solutions available at most home centers (LimeAway eg.)
Any acidic cleaner should work. This category would include both vinegar (acetic acid) and commercial lime dissolving solutions (muriatic acid, K2R, Lime Away, etc.). Wear gloves, don't get cleaner under your rings, sponge off with water to preserve your grout after removing lime.
I would use nothing stronger than white vinegar. Anything stronger will destroy the grout.
What is the ingredients in Elmers glue stick?
Elmer's glue stick is now made from over 99 percent natural ingredients. It is non-toxic and is made from synthetic materials, which are not derived from animals.
Why does glue not stick to the bottle?
Glue doesn't stick to the bottle because, in order for glue to become sticky it has to dry. There's no air circulation in a closed bottle so glue can't dry. If you're thinking, "But what if I leave the glue bottle open! Why doesn't it dry?" It's because there is a lot of glue in the bottle. Not just a thin layer. Just like when you're glueing something and you're not supposed to use that much glue because it won't dry.
How do you dissolve epoxy glue?
For big projects there are commercial products like "Dynasolve 165" available at http://www.dynaloy.com. Their products are custom formulated for specific epoxies and applications. Their service seems great, but their prices for small quantity orders (1-qt) are not inexpensive.
Methylene chloride (aka dichloromethane) is reported to soften epoxy over time, especially is certain blends with alcohols plus detergents.
There is a US Patent #4278557 for a mixture of 45% by volume methanol, 40% by volume dichloromethane, and 15% distilled H2O for dissolving & removing epoxy resinous compounds. see http://www.freepatantsonline.com/4278557.html
Dimethylformamide (DMF) attacks epoxy more aggressively than methylene chloride
There is a relatively inexpensive blended product called "Attack" that consists of DMF in acetone. It claims "dissolves epoxy and polyester resins" and reportedly works well enough on most epoxies, though probably more slowly than the Dynaloy products.
How can I get liquid latex out of my carpet?
Glues like the ones used at school are made up of long chains called polymers, which are a bit like spaghetti strands. When you glue 2 pieces of paper together the polymers get into all the microscopic cracks and crevices in the paper, (a bit like ink soaking into the porous surface of paper). As it dries and the water evaporates the polymer molecules are left in the cracks to hold the paper together. But not all glues work like this. Sometimes the glue contains a substance that temporarily melts the 2 surfaces you're trying to stick together, effectively welding them together when theglue dries. Superglue contains cyanoacrylate. When this substance comes into contact with water it forms chains which bond to the ends of the 2 things you're trying to stick together. As the glue dries the chains harden until they can't move.
Glue is often white because it contains a substance called polyvinyl acetate, which is a white, adhesive polymer. This polymer helps bind materials together when the glue dries. Additionally, manufacturers may add white pigments or fillers to the glue to improve its appearance and opacity.
The thermos was invented by Sir James Dewar in 1892. He developed the vacuum flask, which is now commonly known as a thermos, to keep liquids hot or cold for extended periods of time by minimizing heat transfer through a vacuum-sealed container.
How does temperature affect the strength or adherence of glue?
Heat is beneficial to the fast setting and strength of most epoxy glues. I heat all my epoxies gently in a tin lid before mixing - if this mix is applied to a warm surface it sets extremely hard and strong.
Some other glues may not work so well in heat, and in fact almost all silicon glues work best if cold water is run over them while curing.
How does sniffing markers make you high?
Sniffing markers can make you feel high because of the chemicals in the ink, like solvents and alcohol, that can affect your brain when inhaled. These chemicals can cause feelings of euphoria, dizziness, and disorientation, but they can also be harmful and lead to serious health risks.
Epoxy in chemistry means a compound which contains a three membered ring of atoms, two carbons and an oxygen. This is not a very stable arrangement because the bonds are strained, so as soon as something attacks them they tend to react with themselves very quickly to form giant cross linked structures called epoxy resins, which tend to be much harder than the starting material. They find applications as glues and inert coatings amongst other things. In general usage epoxy refers to the resins.
The stickiness of tape comes from the adhesive material that is coated onto it. This adhesive is designed to create a strong bond with surfaces when pressure is applied, allowing the tape to stick securely.
Why does glue not stick to its container?
Glue is designed to stick to other surfaces, not its container. The container is typically made of materials that are resistant to adhesion, such as plastic or glass, which prevents the glue from sticking to it. Additionally, the container is often treated with release agents or coatings to further discourage sticking.
What happens with a borax and glue and water solution?
When borax is added to a solution of glue and water, it creates a chemical reaction that forms a polymer known as slime. The borax acts as a cross-linker, connecting the long chains of molecules in the glue to create a stretchy and squishy substance.
Yes, semen can have a sticky texture due to its protein and sugar content. It can vary in consistency depending on hydration levels and overall health.
Semen is sticky due to its composition, which includes proteins and sugars that give it a viscous texture. These substances help the semen to adhere to surfaces and facilitate the process of sperm traveling through the female reproductive system. Additionally, the sticky nature of semen aids in its ability to form a plug in the cervix, helping to prevent other sperm from entering the uterus.
Tape is made sticky by applying an adhesive material, such as acrylic or rubber-based adhesives, to one side of the tape. This adhesive adheres to surfaces when pressure is applied, creating a bond that makes the tape stick.
How do you remove the glue from pill bottles?
One option for removing glue from a pill bottle is to use a product such as Goo Gone. People have also had success using white vinegar, or simply soaking the bottle in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes.
How do you get a yellow pollen stain out of carpet?
Try club soda. Let it fizz and sit for a few minutes before rubbing gently with a clean, soft cloth. yerwatused - I would ignore the previous comment about rubbing anything. Rubbing pollen simply spreads it and pushes it in to the fabric. So, hoover lightly over the pollen stain so that any loose grains are lifted up. You can then apply a carpet cleaner, Vanish/DeSolve are products that work well. Once you've applied them dab gently with the cloth until you've removed it. You might have to do this a couple of times.
How do you remove sticky tack from hair?

How do you get tape residue off ceramic tile?
Use Goop or Goof-off available from Home Depot or any hardware store. If you don't want to use a chemical (although ceramic tile is very tough stuff) you could first try rubbing the area with baby oil. I suggest you try it on an area that isn't in the middle of your floor first to make sure that nothing bad happens in a visible area.
How do you remove wrinkles from jeans?
Here are two suggestions: * Promptly remove jeans from the dryer when they are done and hang them up. This will prevent deep wrinkles and creases. * Toss a damp towel along with the pair of wrinkled jeans into the dryer, and let them spin for ten minutes or so on high heat. If you have a wrinkle release setting, use it.
