Where are the best free flight simulator games located?

User Avatar
If you download the Google Earth application from earth.google.com you will find there is a very simply and easy flight simulator mode as a part of the software. It's very simple and straight forward controls and allows you to fly over real terrain and maps. Flying in large cities with 3D models enabled can also be a lot of fun because it's very similar to actual, more advanced flight simulators. Google Earth is a free application and is safe and secure.

How do you update Google earth version?

User Avatar
Normally Google Earth Pro auto-updates to the new version when it is available but if that feature is disabled or not working you can manually install the latest version. Visit the Google Earth download page to download the latest version for Windows, Mac, or Linux desktop platforms. You can show the version of Google Earth in the Hep menu and selecting "About Google Earth". Note that Google Earth desktop has been replaced with Google Earth Pro so all updates will be with the latter. For the web version of Google Earth, your web browser always accesses the latest version and you never have to install or uninstall the application. Mobile platforms can update Google Earth using the Google Store, Apple store, or equivalent application management utlility on the particular platform.

Where do i find a vector map of the US with each state being a link?

User Avatar
There are shape files and KML files which have represent each US state as a Polygon or line segment. One such KML source is posted here which you can view in Google Earth. Many official data sources (many as shape or KML files) from federal and state agencies are freely available at data.gov. You often have to search and try out different sources until you find the right one.

How can you view Google Earth in the year 2000?

User Avatar
Google Earth Desktop application has a Historical Imagery view to display imagery from previous years. Historical Imagery can be enabled in the View menu of Google Earth or Google Earth Pro. Enable Historical Imagery then a time slider will appear on top-left showing the available times for imagery. Check if the year 2000 is included in the time slider and pick that time to change the time of the displayed imagery. Imagery in one area (city, country, etc.) for a given time does not guarantee imagery is available in another area. Historical Imagery is not available on the mobile Google Earth app.

How do i download Google earth 1998?

User Avatar
Google Earth was the first publicly released in 2005 and all imagery that exists is typically starting from 2005 to the present. Google may have acquired older imagery for some areas so imagery from 1998 or earlier may exist but is not common. Enable the historical imagery option under the View menu of Google Earth desktop and see what times are available in a particular area. This is not available in mobile or web versions of Google Earth.
