Good Luck in your studies to become a teacher.
It is a high C grade. It is fairly solid, but not a stellar grade.
That SAT is pretty low for ivy-league, but the GPA and awards will likely show that you are studious and work to fulfill goals. Because they receive so many academically strong candidates, ivy-leagues have a tendency to look towards your unique achievements, like the awards, and perhaps community service projects. Assuming there is an entrance essay, use that to highlight what sets you apart and what you have done beyond school. As lame as it may be, diversity can be key here.

What is the required GPA to get into university of Houston?
I don't know the required GPA to get into university of Houston. But you definitely need to get decent grades. A good GPA and a decent SAT scores are a must. After you accomplish this, start thinking about ways you can separate yourself from the competition. Extracurricular activities are very important. Lastly, make sure you want to go to Houston. I know a lot of students that thought they wanted to go to their dream school, but when they got in and went to that school, they were really disappointed. You can get information about the academic requirements here:

Why is your school GPA important?
Your GPA gives colleges and overall look on how much effort you put into school. It also, in a way, shows how smart you are and your learning capabilities.
yes, anything over a 3.0 is good in college. 3.3 is solid (it's a B+ average), but above a 3.5 is excellent.
Is a 3.50 cummulative college GPA good?
depends on your definition of good, but overall it is good. factors that people include in their definitions of good are which school, what major and what classes. science majors and engineers tend to have lower GPAs than social science majors. im doing both and its a drastic difference for me. also its easier to get a higher GPA at a community college than a top 50 university. typically a 3.5 is between a A- and a B+. university of Illinois honors program requires students to keep a 3.5 each semester to stay in the honors program. just remember that you GPA will fall from high school since college classes are harder, plus there is no more weighted GPA and at high end schools your competing with smarter people. be proud of a 3.5

There are no GPA requirements for admission to Binghamton University, however, here is the GPA information from their website...
The middle 50% of admitted students have GPAs between 91-96 un-weighted. That means half of their accepted applicants have a 91-96. 25% have below a 91, and 25% have above a 96. In short, 75% of applicants have a 91 and above.
While keeping great grades is key, most colleges evaluate your JUNIOR year to determine admissions requirements. They often discount freshman year because of transition changes from middle school. Though your freshman year is not as imporotant, your overall GPA and class ranking will still suffer from your bad year. Basically, it is not as important by itself, but it still matters in the long run. You are currently in your senior year, so those records aren't always available at decision time. Good work in your Junior year will make you or break you.
Yes. its atrocious
I'll tell you one thing, it definitely isn't good. Fortunately, it isn't the end of the world if your GPA is 1.3 in your Freshman year of Highschool. You can always do better and raise your GPA. Sadly, if you decide to slack off and continue to do what your doing, and you plan on going to a "good" college, they probably won't accept you. Scratch probably, they WON'T accept you. So get your grades up or just start off for your Associates in a Community College, keep your grades up there and transfer to a 4 year college. There is nothing wrong with Community College.People might bag on you for going there, but seriously - there's nothing wrong with it at all. It does not make you STUPID, nor RETARDED. You're doing it for you, not anyone else. So just focus on you, and not what others think.
