However, if you feel like a bit of time, just think about it. If it runs away as soon as it sees you (get it while it's hungry) hand feed it some food and it should come closer. Eventually you might like to do a bit of shuffling to get it used to movement, then progress to making noises (calling it's name is best) and when that is OK, be sure to open the area it's in so the only way out is onto your lap, hand etc or whatever you are most comfortable with. Let it have an explore, not picking it up unless fearing for his/her safety. When he/she is OK with you, start stroking it and then pick it up gently to put it back it with a nice bit of food if you decided not to feed him/her while he/she was on your lap.
