How do you learn a front walkover?

I have had trouble with this before but you just have to work on it. First you have to stretch!!!!!!!!!!!! Do your ankles and wrists and a bridge with your feet together and head out. It is reccomended you know how to do a hand stand. Practice a bridge and getting up. Also a tick tock gettingup which is similar. Try it with spotting to. You need to have very strong stomach muscles try going into a brige on one foot and getting up instantly First get into a handstand. second push the strongest foot forward third push up on one foot as soon as possible dont hesitate to put the weaker one down while your getting up.

There are some very nice tutorials on YouTube. Go slowly on your stretching regimen, and remember this rule: if it hurts, don't stretch that far. It will come with time. Practice daily your right/left/middle; Olympic and Chinese splits. Don't compare your progress with others' progress; only compare yourself to yourself.

What are some tips for successful learning?

Patience, dedication, passion, hard work, perseverance, and mental toughness are very important character traits in gymnastics. Get a notebook a make a list of the skills that your good at, and the skills that you need to work on. Make small goals each day, and write you small progressions and accomplishments each time you go to practice. Be patient with yourself--don't expect yourself to be able to master a skill in a week. Gymnastics is a very difficult sport that requires extreme body control, flexibility, and strength. It takes time to master skills. Make sure that you have a good coach that has experience and knowledge, and knows what he/she is doing. A good method I found helpful was to work on my strength and flexibility at home, and my skills at the gym. Make sure that you do not work on skills and stunts at home, as that can be dangerous. Instead, stretch and do conditioning exercises at home. V-ups and sit-ups are good for core strength. You can do these in between commercials while you're watching TV. Plain old push-ups are good for arms. If you are not strong enough to do a push-up, modify it by getting on your knees. Lunges are good for the legs.

And most importantly, have fun! I took gymnastics for a while before I had to quit due to injuries and other health problems, but there is not a day that goes by that I do not miss the gym. Enjoy yourself, be safe, and never give up!

Before you join any fitness or sports class, be sure to visit and ask about pricing and other requirements. Spend some time there watching the classes you are interested in, and talk to people there about why they go and how they feel about their experience.

Hugo's Gymfitness is not Better Business Bureau approved and it is not known if they have sought accreditation or if it is pending. However, the BBB has received no complaints against them as of this writing.
