Was Henry right to close down the monestries?
Nothing. Henry VIII needed to form a new church in order to break from the Roman Catholic Church so he could remarry and produce a male heir; a fairly reasonable ambition for his time.
Unfortunately, the monasteries represented the Catholic Church and Henry had little choice but to back his decision with action against them.
History is unclear on the point of whether Henry took pleasure in this; a culured man ir is possible he felt a twinge of regret, but the obligation to ensure his succession would have taken precedence over monks.

He enjoyed, amongst other things, to hunt.
In his younger days as King, Henry VIII liked to show off his skills in wrestling, which he was quite good at. There is a true story of how he challenged a much physically stronger King of France, his historical enemy, to a wrestling match on neutral territory in Northern France and won. He also had a love of hunting the boars(wild pigs) that roamed the forests of the time. Henry also liked to chase the ladies at every possible opportunity which accounts for him marrying seven times in the hope of bearing a legitimite son and heir.

Because Henry VIII did not marry Mary and for the son to be king Mary must be Queen.

Why did Henry VIII convert to protestantism?
At that time the Catholic church was very corrupt and made a lot of money through indulgences (certificates to get you into heaven), relics (e.g. bits of the cross) and St Peter's Pence (they asked for donations to rebuild St Peter's Basilica in Rome but never did and kept the money). The Pope even took 10% out of the country's taxes.
Another of Henry's problems was that Catherine of Aragon was getting too old to have children and "boring" (she was older than him because he married his dead brother's wife to keep the peace with Spain). He decided that he would marry Anne Boleyn as she was young, fashionable and very pretty. But he needed a divorce first.
Henry first tried to get an annulment from Catherine because he said he shouldn't have been able to marry his dead brother's wife (which he got special permission for at the time). But Catherine said that the marriage was never consummated and the Pope refused.
As Protestantism was beginning to spread in other countries, Henry set up a new branch of Protestantism, The Church of England with him (or the reigning English monarch as the head.) That way, he was able to grant himself a divorce and keep all the money that would have gone to Rome.

Henry VIII was the second son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. His elder brother, Arthur, Prince of Wales, died in 1502, leaving Henry as heir to the throne. Elizabeth of York, as the older sister of the Princes in the Tower, she had a better claim to the throne than Henry VII. Henry VII solved this problem by marring her and unting the Houses of Lancaster and York, as is shown in the Tudor rose. Elizabeth became the mother of Henry VIII.

What did Henry VIII do to his wives?
King Henry VIII of England was born on 28th June 1491, became King on 21st April 1509 and reigned until his death on 28th January 1547.
He married six times, mostly because he wanted an undisputed male heir the throne, avoiding the possibility of a Civil War after his death.
His wives were:
First wife of Henry VIII:
Catherine of Aragon (1485 - 1536) was unable to provide Henry VIII (1491 - 1547) with a male heir, which he desperately wanted, despite six pregnancies and only one living daughter (Mary). He therefore decided to divorce Catherine and eventually had their marriage annulled in 1533. Her health went into decline and she died on 7 January 1536.
Second wife of Henry VIII:
Anne Boleyn (c1501-07 - 1536) had also been unfortunate enough to not be able to provide Henry VIII with a male heir, and was executed on trumped up charges of adultery, incest, witchcraft - all treasonable offences. She was beheaded by an expert French swordsman, ordered by Henry as a more merciful death, on 19 May 1536. Ironically her triumph was that she was the mother of a great monarch, Elizabeth I.
Third wife of Henry VIII:
Jane Seymour (b.1504-09) the third wife of Henry VIII, died on 24 October 1537 within days of giving birth (probably from puerperal fever) to Henry's only legitimate son, Edward, later Edward VI (1537 - 1553). It was with Jane that a dying Henry asked to be buried. They are interred together in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Fourth wife of Henry VIII:
After the tragic death of his third wife, Jane Seymour, Henry was eventually persuaded to marry again, but this fourth wife, Anne of Cleves (1515 - 1557) was chosen via a portrait Henry had commissioned from Hans Holbein, and when he saw her in the flesh, he was extremely unhappy with her appearance (he apparently called her "the Flanders Mare"). Although he did marry Anne on 6 January 1540, he refused to consummate the marriage, so this was annulled, but at least Anne of Cleves was "paid off" and did not lose her head. She received a generous divorce settlement and remained on good terms with the king. Anne died in 1557, with declining health.
Fifth wife of Henry VIII:
Catherine Howard (c1520 - 1542) was much younger than Henry VIII (1491 - 1547). She made the treasonable mistake of having an affair with a cousin of her mother's, Thomas Culpepper. When Henry was given the details of her adultery, he is said to have cried, as he had always thought of Catherine as his "rose without a thorn". Catherine (a cousin of Anne Boleyn) was beheaded on 13 February 1542, having asked for the block to be brought to her the night before, so that she could practice placing her head upon it.
Sixth wife of Henry VIII:
Henry's last wife, Katherine Parr (b. c1512), had already been widowed twice, when she married Henry in 1543. She was a very sensible and intellectual lady, and outlived Henry, as he died on 28 January 1547. Katherine married again, after Henry's death, to Thomas Seymour, a brother of Jane Seymour. She became pregnant and gave birth to a girl on 30 August 1548, and died of puerperal fever on 5 September 1548.

What caused Henry the 8th to break with the catholic church?
England became a part of the reformation more through politics than theological debate. King Henry VIII (1509-47) needed an heir to the throne and with his wife was unable to produce one. The Pope would not grant a divorce and so Henry convinced Parliament to declare him head of the Church in England. Henry’s daughter, Mary Tudor was a staunch Catholic and persecuted the Protestants. When Henry’s other daughter, Elizabeth, inherited the throne, she tolerated the Protestants just enough so as not to irritate the Pope. When the English fleet defeated the Spanish Armada in 1588, the Anglican Church permanently replaced the Catholic one in England.
(Below is an excerpt from the biography of Henry VIII)
In 1534 Henry VIII was declared head of the English Church. People had to swear an oath that in future they would obey Henry as head of the church. More refused and he was convicted of high treason. Still refusing to recant, he was executed at the Tower of London on 6 July 1535.
The Pope and the Catholic church in Rome were horrified when they heard the news that Henry had destroyed St. Thomas Becket's Shrine. On 17 December 1538, the Pope announced to the Christian world that Henry VIII had been excommunicated from the Catholic church.
Which wife of Henry VIII was beheaded for unfaithfulness?

Katherine Howard (5th wife)
While adultery was one of the reasons given, it is very doubtful that Anne Boleyn was guilty of adultery.
He was very sporty when he was younger, famous for his hunting prowess as well as his skill at a sport similar to tennis. However, as a wealthy king he was also extravagant. He loved to throw huge feasts and banquets - more food = more fat. Eventually it got to the point where he needed a hoist to be moved since he was so heavy. His decreasing willingness to actually run the country meant he wouldn't need to travel so much, and his love for meat caused him to suffer gout, which killed him. (gout was sometimes known as 'The king's disease', or 'the rich man's disease' because of the association of meat and wealth).
