Why China and France wanted to control Vietnam?

France was just keeping up with European traditions at the time, the usual colonies: Britain's America, Australia; France and Spain's America; Germany, Belgium, Portugal's Africa; Britain's India; etc.

Japan was engaged with conquests, which required "stepping stones"; Indochina was one of them. Japan was moving rapidly in nearly all directions, as was Germany; North (Alaska), South towards Australia, and west towards India (they were stopped in India at Imphal).

Indochina was but a base for future campaigns (operations). Example: The British battleship HMS Prince of Wales and battlecruiser HMS Repulse were both sunk from Japanese bombers which took off from airfields located in the former "South Vietnam."

Bottom line: France was for prestige and financial gain (Colonies=business ventures). Japan was for conquest expansion. Although, it should be noted that with any conquest, from any nation; Rome, Ghengis Khan, Attila the Hun, Napoleon, Hitler, North Korea, etc. "prestige & riches (financial gain)" are automatically inherent to those conquests."

Is modern China a patriarchal society?

China is still viewed to be a patriarchal society as men are viewed to be more influential than woman. Men in modern China have more power within both community as well as the domestic goverment and political decisions.

Due to the one child policy introduced in 1978, families who need their children to work prefer to have a male child. This is due to the fact that they view men to be more productive in manual labour, therefore more employable resulting in more income cash flows. At present China has 117. 7 baby boys per 100 girls, demonstrating the negative consequence of the one child policy .

What concerns are there about the one child policy?

The only real concern about the policy itself is that it violates human rights. However, the issues that derive from it involve forced abortion, infanticide and abandonment of especially female babies (males being preferred in many Asian countries), and the already stagnating and gender-unbalanced population this has resulted in.

Why did some Chinese rulers oppose the spread of Buddhism at first?

To avoid paying heavy taxes, a lot of poor people went to the Buddhist Temples and became monks or nuns. As a consequence, Less people worked in the field, and the revenue of the government sharply reduced. Every time it occurred, the emperor ordered to have the temples destroyed and the monks or nuns returned home.

What results can from the great leap forward?

The economy did get better, after 1962, but to be honest most of it was negative. If you want a sappy answer, the Chinese attitude changed, and they are now a very hard working country. It also proved that a lot can be changed (communes), a whole country in fact, almost overnight, given the right leader and logistics.

What was the result of the civil wars between leaders of he wealthy a lower class in Rome during the 2nd and 1st centuries BC 200-1BC?

The first actual civil war between Romans was Sulla's first civil war (88--87 BC), between the forces of Lucius Cornelius Sulla's supporters and those of Gaius Marius. The final civil war of the Roman Republic, between Octavian and Marc Antony, occurred in 30 BC.

The Result of the civil wars was the end of the Roman Republic and the beginning of rule by emperors. The final war was a clash over who would become the sole ruler of Rome. Octavian won, established his own absolute personal rule and became the first Roman emperor and was bestowed the title of Augustus (with which is is known for the period when he was the emperor). This was formalised in the Second Settlement between the senate and Octavian, and historians use this date to mark the beginning of the 503-year period of rule by emperors.

What do men do everyday but women do it once in life?

Well, this is a tricky question and first of all, to tell you there is no correct answer for this question unless you make up one. I can think of, this answer will be associated with personal relationship. To what I referred, is infedility, flirting and obviously they are all bad stuff that is quite fimiliarised to everyone these days. Generally speaking men and women do have somewhat a similarity to these factors. in my opinion, I think flirting is what most of the men want to do whether they are married or nonmarried or just a student if they have free time and a girl that is attractive in his eyes. But, women rather not flirt after they are married unless they are unhappy in their relation. It's just my perspective of how I see it as a man myself. By the way, this answer does not prove any things and have no means to the actual life. And note that I am a college student, so I might not have any experiences to those matter and may not have explain it better way.

Another possible answer can be man are used to serious lies with their parent, friend, girl friend, teacher, etc everyday but woman show considerably lack of experieces in these area.Hopefully you got your answer.
