How to install a tachometer in a Honda Civic?

I did it in my 1994 DX Hatch by getting the instruments from a model that had a tach. The instrument cluster plugged right in. Now I have a tach along with a new speedo, and combined temp and gas guages. The wiring is already there and it works like a factory install. I think mine came from an EX, intended for an auto trans, but the lights showing the gear (between the temp and gas guages) simply don't come on. I imagine the same would work in any Civic from at least 1989 on, if not all. What year?

How do you remove the hub nut on to access the front wheel bearings?

If you mean the big (probably 30mm or it could be a 36mm - (1999 has 32mm nuts)) nut in the middle of the hub, undo the dimple that keeps it from moving (don' worry about mangling the nut, you should not reuse it anyway), then remove it with an impact gun. You could leave the brakes assembled and have someone hold the brakes, while you use a very long breaker bar with a socket to remove it. It unscrews in a counter-clockwise direction (lefty-loosey). There are no left handed threads on this vehicle.

If stubborn and an impact air gun is not available, apply heat to the nut, then back to the breaker bar.

Why is the maintenance required slot in red in your Honda Civic 97 LX?

usually just an oil change light. when you get your oil changed push your key into the little slot right by that light. it should go back to green. it usually goes on around every 3,000 miles, as a reminder for you to change your oil. goodluck!

How do you replace the exhaust manifold on a 1999 Honda Civic LX?

Ill assume that yours cracked.

You have to purchase a replacement manifold with a catalytic converter bolted up to it. It is usually a one piece set up. It costs about $300 after market or about $500 OEM from Honda.

To replace it:

-Remove the primary o2 sensor with a 22mm socket

-Remove the secondary o2 sensor at the end of the catalytic converter

-Remove the 12mm bolts that connect the manifold to the head

-Remove the 14mm bolts with spring that connect the down pipe to the exhaust

-Wiggle it out through the bottom or the top

-Reinstall the new one using these steps but in reverse.

What oil do you use for the primary on a 883 sportster 1996?

20w50 Harley Davidson motor oil

If you can't get H-D brand oil, you could use any brand 20w50.

Stay away from synthetics. I stuck with H-D 20w50. Good luck!

How is the key-less entry reset?

Owner's manual

AnswerI don't have enough information about your car to tell you how to do it, but here's how they all work:

The key fob is a radio transmitter that sends an ID sequence (the serial number of the fob) out when you press the button. Any key fob that works for any car like yours has the potential to be used to unlock your car doors. The question you want answered is "how do I tell my car's computer to respond to the key fob I have?"

Generally the car stops listening to your key fobs if the power is cut to the battery. There's a sequence that you need to follow to tell the car's computer to go into learning mode. Once the computer is ready to learn, you'll need to press any button on each fob that you want your car to listen to. You'll need all of the fobs at once.

The dealer will be happy to do this for you for a fee. I've had pretty good luck searching Google groups for specific information about how to do this. I recommend that you search Google groups for the make, model, year and the keyword RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) or some variation of those.

Good luck!

How do you replace 2002 Honda Civic carpet?

To replace the carpet, you will need to remove the seats, console and any trim that is holding the carpet in place. Once you get everything removed, the carpet should lift out. How do you remove a 2001 Honda Civic crank shaft bolt?

Very simple... If you don't have the correct tools provided by Honda this is what I would do. Put the engine on TDC so all valves on #1 are closed. Rotate the engine clockwise about 30 degrees. Put a piece of rope down cylinder #1 spark plug hole. Rotate the counterclockwise until the piston pushes the rope to the top of the cylinder. All valves will be closed so there will be no damage. Put your breaker bar on the bolt and turn it off. Same for replacement. I do this trick all the time on engines.

How do you open the hood of a 2001 Mercedes S500?

== == Open the driver's door. Immediately below the A pillar, just forward of the door opening, up and on the left side interior panel is a black lever hinged at the top. Pull the bottom of the lever toward you and you will feel and hear the cable pull, and release the hood.

Step to the front of the car. There will be a small black plastic "T" sticking its head out through the grill. Pull this handle out farther while lifting up on the hood and it will open free.
