Why won't your car recognize it is in park and unlock the key?
This can be a silly problem,
If your car is a console shift (on the floor) there is a cable or other device that will manually be depressed when the shifter if moved forward to the park position.
That is to say that a tab located under your shifter cover that is a part of the steel body of the shifter itself, moves forward and pushes in on a little small button at the end of a cable, the cable is usually "hardmounted" with two nuts that are threaded on a steel jacket at the end if the cable and fully adjustable. if you need a visual look at a set of brakes on a ten speed bike, you can see how the cable is adjustable at the brake body itself. If you back off 1 nut, you can tighten the other to apply more pressure to the cable as the brakes wear in, and the second nut is used as a lock / retainer nut. You will need to remove the center console cover to get a look at the shifter and it's base. If your cable is visible and it should be, if looks like an oversized speedometer cable, it will disappear under the carpet. if you back the nuts off you can remove the cable and try to depress it with your thumb with the key in the ignition to see if that's the problem, (just not being depressed fully to release key) or is there a problem in your steering coloum. If it's the cable, just adjust the nuts so the button if firmer against the shifter tab. This info is limited as i have only encountered this on fords, but i hope i was of some help.

What could cause excess fuel consumption on a 1998 Olds Bravada?
my best friend owns a 92 bravada with a 4.3 vortech v6. he was getting around 6 to 8 miles to the gallon. There were two types of injection systems used for those years. multi-point and center port. his was center port. this is by far the worst injection system ever used, hence its very short production. we found out through diagnostics that the injector was leaking fuel inside the plenum and causing a very dangerous fuel puddle to develop. three cylinders were being starved so the CPU tried to compensate by dumping more fuel. Obviously, this only made it worse. its not difficult to fix, but it could be expensive. the injector alone was almost three hundred dollars. but, this is something you can fix yourself with a few common hand tools and a couple of hours. you only have to remove the upper intake plenum, which is easily accessed, disconnect the feed hoses from the injector, transfer them to the new one, and repeat the steps in reverse. be sure to connect ALL sensors to their rightful places before trying to start the motor. and your good to go!
In the 1996 and up 4.3 they have Central Sequantial Fuel Injection there is no spider assembly and you are able to replace each injector. These injectors have poppets that can leak and cause higher fuel consumption. Leaky fuel pressure regulator.

How do you change the alternator for a 1992 Honda Civic?
Here are the relatively easy steps I took. The alternator is difficult to access, and cannot be removed without removing something--preferrably the easiest thing. # Turn the steering all the way to the left (makes things easier) # Disconnect the battery ground wire. # Jack up the car and remove the front driver's side wheel. # Remove the 2 alternator mounting bolts. Access to top bolt from top, bottom bolt from underneath. # From top or underneath (both are difficult access), rotate alternator so you can remove all the wiring (one plug, one wire wired to the post, and one retaining clamp on the back). # From underneath, move alternator back behind the engine to clear it from the alternator mounting bracket. # From underneath, remove alternator mounting bracket. Two 14 mm bolts (need a socket for one of them). # From side, in wheel well, unscrew back-most plastic screw holding front inside wheel-well splash guard on. # Pull Alternator out just behind the splash guard, flexing it out as you go. # Put the new alternator back in through the same hole. # Set the alternator aside and put the alternator mounting bracket on--tighten it up because you won't be able to access one of the bolts once you put the alternator on.
Notes:
You might want to make sure that the new alternator will fit in the mounting bracket while both new alternator and bracket are off the car. Sometimes the bolt sleeve in the bracket can be too tight and need a little tap to move it out.
You will probably lose the wheel well nut behind the plastic screw retaining the wheel well splash guard; mine fell into the body frame, never to be seen again. To fasten it back, I just used a pinched piece of coat-hanger wire to hook the wheel well back in place and then put some silicone on the hole so that water didn't go into the hole.
Will changing your tranny fluid and filter help keep the tranny from clunking?
probably not this sounds like something a mechanic would need to look at but i would be present and look into the pan when they remove it to see if there are signs of metal this indicates some internal parts are breaking. but if it is only clunking when you first put it into gear check the u-joints if it is a rear wheel drive car if it is a front wheel drive look at the motor while some one puts it into gear you may have some worn out motor mounts which are cheaper to replace than a motor.
it is a safety feature so you are less likely to lock your keys in the car but if you have to stop it you can put the key in and open the door at this point you stick your head under the dash and listen then carefully unplug the module that is making the noise

How to put freon in 2003 hounda civic?
To add Freon to a 2003 Honda Civic, first ensure the engine is off and the AC system is off. Locate the low-pressure service port, which is typically on the larger AC line, and connect the refrigerant can's hose to it. Start the engine and turn the AC to the maximum setting, then slowly open the can's valve to add Freon, checking the pressure gauge frequently. Once the desired level is reached, disconnect the hose, and check for any leaks.
Why does the alternator light come on when you shut the key off?
The alternator light goes out on starting the engine when both the ignition source, and alternator are producing positive voltage. When the ignition switch is turned off, the engine, and of course, alternator are still turning momentarily. The alternator is then still producing positive voltage, while the 'off' ignition switch has assumed a negative state, creating a closed + - circuit, allowing the lamp to light. This is a very normal state, and has occurred for many decades, even back to the days of cars running generators, prior to the alternator. Absolutely nothing to fear.

How do you replace the starter motor on your 2000 Honda civix lx?
Disconnect bat. Raise front end, follow positive cable to the end-that is the starter. Remove cable & wires. Remove bolts going into block. Be careful when you pull the last one-they are heavy. Reverse to install. You may/may not have to add solenoid on top. Some starters do not come with it. If not put the old one on new starter.
For a 2001 Honda Civic, the P0730 code means there is an issue with the shift control system. Dirty transmission fluid is one of the many things that can cause this code.

How do you remove a roof mount antenna on a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Just been looking into this myself matey as snapped my mount in car wash on new years eve. Looking at the civic manual I bought on eBay ages ago it seems you have to remove the trims in front and behind your door (pillars) and then the pillar above your seat belts. take out the ceiling and rear ceiling lights. remove sunvisors and grab handles. remove the weatherproof seal around the boot and then finally you can get to remove the headliner (the carpet on your roof for people like me!!) Its a big job! Am wondering whether to pay Honda to do mine as its a 2man job as well apparently and knowing Honda they put 1 way clips in everything so when you pull them off they snap!!! That happens when you remove the plastic triangle hidding bolts to wingmirrors. Oh and if you've got a sunroof you have to undo a plug and remove the moonroof switch whatever that is but I don't know as mine hasn't! Hope this helps a bit. Chris

Its not nearly that difficult. Remove the light covers and then unscrew and remove the light fixture that is directly behind the rear-view mirror, you will see a silver cap sticking through the roof that has a black wire attached. Using a small flat screwdriver remove this cap, and you will find an 8mm nut that is holding the antenna onto your roof.
