Where is the transmission fluid dip stick on a 99 Isuzu rodeo?

the rodeos do not have a transmission dipstick. there is a check plug ner the rear, on the top passenger side of the transmission housing. the vehicle must be running with the fluid WARM NOT HOT, in neutral--shift through all gears--back to neutral--remove plug--fluid should just barely drip out. **even if done correctly the trans may spit and spew agood bit of fluid** you must have a pump to fill the trans through another plug near the check hole, the fill plug is located in a deep depression. best advice is to find a good transmission shop to check if you are a novice to car repair. many repair shops and quick lubes are unable to accuratly (if they can even figure out how) to check the fluid.

Why would your key get stuck in the ignition numerous times on your 1998 Isuzu Rodeo?

Your ignition may have some dirt in it, or it may be gummed up. Try putting some dry graphite lubricant into the lock. A spray graphite lube will work too. Put your key in and pull it out several times to work the graphite in to the pin tumblers. Your lock should work much better now. Also, some anti-theft mechanisms on steering wheels can stick if the steering wheel is putting force on the lock mechanism. Try turning the wheel back and forth a little bit while trying to remove the key. Good Luck. DaytonaHead.

Where is the bank one o2 sensor on an Isuzu Rodeo and how do you change it?

I'm not a mechanic, but I'm pretty sure you have one O2 sensor just before the catalytic converter and one after. The first checks the function of, and regulates, your fuel control unit, and the second checks the efficiency of your catalytic converter. My #1 O2 sensor is screwed into the exhaust pipe about a foot or two before the converter and kind of looks like a spark plug.

On a 2003 Isuzu the O2 sensor is on the driver side of the engine compartment about a foot down from where the exhaust pipe comes out of the header. Just follow the exhaust pipe out of the engine and you will see it. It looks like a spark plug sticking out. It's pretty easy to disconnect the wires, unscrew it and replace it. You will need a 7/8" open end wrench to unscrew it. Good luck. * 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora's actually have 4 O2 sensors, 1 on each header and 1 before, and 1 after the catalytic converter...

What degree and mm offset wrench is used to remove the 6 torque converter bolts on 2000 Isuzu Rodeo?

ASSUMING THIS IS A V-6 motor The bolts are 17mm. You need to remove the starter to remove them. To remove the starter you need to remove the exhaust pipe and move it back. Then you need a deep 17mm socket and a 3/8 flex head rachet A bit of a pain to do

How would you fix a problem with the rear driver side door not locking when all other doors lock on a 95 Rodeo?

I would pull the door panel off and then actuate the lock; chances are you just have some linkage that is binding within the door. I hope this helps you. Mark

Why would the brake lights on a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo not work only when the headlights are on?

Brake lights don't work with headlights

I had this exact problem with my 1996 rodeo. turns out if you have replaced the brake bulb with a mono-filament bulb this will happen. If you replace the bulb with the correct Dual filament bulb this will fix the problem

My wife has a 2000 L series Saturn, she had a similar problem, the brake lights would work but when you turn on the headlights they would go out... I found this problem when I went to have the required, yearly safety/emissions inspection per our State Law (it failed due to the problem). I checked for recalls for "Saturn" and found that there was a recall for brake light problems, due to the socket which housed the bulb(s) for the brake lights, heating up, and melting the plastic. I then opened the trunk, removed each bulb 1 at a time and inspected the housing(s). Lo and Behold! I discovered a discoloration on 1 of the housings and realized that it had in fact started to melt. I cleaned the housing by scraping away the burn mark on the housing and the housing contacts and tested it... IT WORKED!! I am making an appointment with Saturn ASAP to have this problem fixed... Good luck, I hope this helps, I know that there could be several problems that can cause this other then the 1 that worked for me...

How do you manually open the hood on a 1993 Plymouth Voyager Van when the release is broken?

We get this from time to time. Usually you can get to the mechanism unless it has a guard over it. Then you have to have patience and luck. Find the cable where it comes out to the grill and try to disconnect the cable jacket from where it is held onto the latch. Then pull the whole cable, inside and out, together as a unit. Don't let the inner core move independently from the outer sheath. The idea is to grab the whole cable and pull on it and the latch should open. You have to disconnect the outer sheath from where it is attached to the latch for this to work. Sometimes you can remove the grill and see where the latch bolts on. Then remove the bolts and the hood and latch will come up as an assembly. Then you can unlatch the hood from the latch once everything is out in the open and visible.

"IN my case the cable actually came out of the latch. So I could pull on that sucker till the cows came home, but it wasn't gong to help. I just removed the front grill plastic. Four little torx head screws and then I unlatched it with a screw driver. Took about 20 minutes."

That answer worked perfectly! Then I cut away the plastic shroud inside the car around the broken lever and removed the lever mounting bracket (three hex head screws) with a socket and ratchet. Then exposed a couple of inches of cable by cutting away the wire reinforced plastic sleeve. Then clamped an inexpensive pair of locking pliers to the bare cable such that it would not only be handy for releasing the latch in the future, but also to serve as a weight to prevent any slack in the cable from causing the other end to jump out of the hood latch again. Also, make sure that the rubber grommet is still properly seated in the firewall hole to keep dangerous fumes from entering the passenger space. It is easily accessed from the inside.

How do you replace a back up bulb on a 1995 Rodeo?

BACKUP BULBS 1995 RODEOThere are 2 Philips screws, one on each side of the white coloured lens, on the rear of your Isuzu. Remove them and gently pry the lens off. The bulb is available at any automotive store and should be listed in your owner's manual.I replaced one of mine about 6 months ago.Yep...it's that simple! By the way I own 2 1995 Isuzu Rodeos. I would not trade either for anything new and North American!

How do you fix 2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS speedometer that is not working?

Most likely, you have a worn speedometer gear. The gear is located on the rear right side of the transmission tail housing. A black plastic sensing unit screws onto a metal receiver that contains the gear. The metal receiver is held in place with a bolt and metal retainer. You will notice that the retainer has a flat edge that indexes on the metal receiver, and the metal receiver has two flat edges. Remove the bolt and retainer, and rotate the receiver so the metal retainer indexes on the other flat edge. This will index the gear in a new location where it is not worn. If this does not fix the problem, your sensing unit may be defective.

Where is the turn signal hazard flasher in a 97 Rodeo?

I have a 1995.5 Rodeo and had to replace the turn/hazard flasher. It was definitely designed for you to have to take it to the dealer or the automotive professional. It is located under/behind the dashboard directly behind the upper far left air vent. You will have to remove the lower dash cover (5 screws) and then unattach the hood latch and the lighting rheostat from the cover. Lay on your back from the driver floor board and extend your right hand far up to feel for the flasher. It is waayyyy up there behind the air vent. Removing it is easier than replacing it

Puegeot 306XN How do you remove the lower support bolt holding the front half of the exhaust running to the manifold It seems to require a 5 16th Allen key but access is almost impossible?

Changing gearbox so had to remove bottom support bolt that is fixed into gearbox. 8mm hexagon key reached in leaving the short end to turn, put a small tube on it to give more leverage. You could buy a 1/2" drive 8mm hex bit for socket set ratchet, 6.49 from Halfords, be careful as the one I bought snapped first go, very brittle metal, have complained. knocked out broken bit and fitted a sawn off Allen key. The hex bolt isn't too tight but has a long thread so seems to take forever. Keep the manifold joint up as if it drops the weight of the exhaust causes bracket to press the bolt down making it tight to turn. Good luck Pete
