Where do you add brake fluid in a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo?

For any make/model car, look under the hood. There are several caps to fluid reservoirs. Look at those caps and identify the one that says "DOT" then a number. This number will usually be 3 or 4. It refers to the type of brake fluid the vehicle needs. Either dot 3 or dot 4 (though there are others). The reservoir that this cap covers is where your brake fluid is kept.

What is the power button for on a 1999 4WD Isuzu Rodeo?

The power/winter button is to help in situations where you need more or less power. power is normal setting and winter starts you out in 2nd gear so less spinning of tires and better traction. = ADD ON = The power button DOES NOT give you more power. It helps you by changing gears differently such as holding one gear longer on a hard pull on a hill with a camper or starting out and staying in 1st gear longer when pulling a camper etc. It doesnt give you more horsepower.

2nd Add on. I agree with the "ADD ON". Using that button simply reschedules the RPM at which the transmission will shift and is used largely for towing. If you tow anything heavy up a long hill and don't use it, the transmission will likely upshift and downshift continually trying to carry the load. This button keeps you in the downshifted gear instead of overreaching for the next gear.

What makes the throttle stick on a 1995 Isuzu rodeo stick?

If the trottle sticks on a 1995 Izuzu Rodeo please check under the hood of the car immediatly. The trottle cable comes from around the back of the engine compartment from the left side, and attachs to a pully, which you should see on top of the main engine block, unobstructed, and directly in front of you. A wire cable exits the insulated cable housing before attaching to the pully. If you see what appears to be a melted chunk, or pieces of melted rubber attached anywhere along the exposed wire cable, or on the pully itself, there lies the problem. The faulty "Boot" has detached itself from the cable housing and slide down the wire, sometimes melting, or otherwise, and interferring with the cables ability to function properly, as the sticky substance will continue to melt and harden, and possibly creating a bond with the cable and the pully, and therefore not allowing the pully to return to the idle position. This is a very dangerous situation and you need to take your car to a service repairman. Izuzu has not recalled this model, but has recalled their "Tropper" 1995 model for exactly the same defective part, and will not take any responsibility for the Rodeo defective part until forced to do so by the NTSA. Please register a complaint with them, as this is obviously a very dangerous situation, and another example of this car manufactur's lack of accountability and responsibilty, despite the life threatening issue of the this part, obviously the same one used on the Trooper model, but not yet exposed, and somehow less reported.

Where is the starter located on a 95 Isuzu Rodeo?

Removing starter for 1995 Honda passportI own a 1995 Honda passport, same thing I guess, anyway, the starter is located on the the driver's side, just behind the exhaust manifold, tucked way up near the transmission housing. Very hard to get to. The only way to get to it is to dissasemble the exhaust pipe coming from the manifold. It has four bolts. The starter is attached to the transmission housing by two big bolts. Be careful when you remove them because the starter may fall down and catch your fingers. You also need to remove the skid plate and detach the other half of the exhaust pipe. so you end up removing a section of pipe. The manual says you have to take apart the starter to remove it. This is true. It will not come out. There are two long bolts running the length of the starter, unscrew them and the starter will fall apart and you can take it out, in sections. I am assuming that you have first DISCONNECTED THE STARTER CABLE THAT RUNS TO THE BATTERY, IT IS HOT! and unclipped the plug. Very important. What is ironic, is that I was able to put the new starter in without having to disassemble it first, like the manual said. There was no way I was going to take apart a brand new starter, so, with a little patience, and dexterity, it will go in. Take your time, look at the whole thing, look where the bolts are, and how you are going to get to them, don't get frustrated, it is complicated, but very doable. Good luck. -James

Isuzu Rodeo transmission installation?

Get a Haynes guide. It is difficult, but do-able. I just did my '99 3.2L automatic 4x4 and saved about $1800 by doing it myself vs. a transmission shop. If you have access to a lift it would be much easier. I did mine on the ground on jack stands and it only took three tries before everything was working again. I recommend getting it done in one try, there's a lot less swearing and foul language that way.

Where is the mass air flow located on a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo?

M.A.S. ;99 Rodeo.I own a '99 Isuzu rodeo, so this may not be exactly it, but should be close.

My mass airlfow sensor is located between the filter and the throttle body. It is inline with the intake hose. This is in my experience the typical location for it. Itlooks like a ring around the intake hose with a box maybe 3"x3"x1" with a wire attached to it. Usually, if you detach the hose from the filter box, and look into the hose, you'll see a mesh grating. This protects the sensor from any debris in case anything were to get past the filter.

If you're very careful, sometimes you can clean the sensor elements and avoid replacing the sensor. Remove the sensor, remove the mesh and spray with a cleaner that leaves no residue (brake cleaner is good-- not carb cleaner) if necessary, gently wipe the sensor elements. They are fragile.

Why does the check trans light come on in a 2001 Isuzu rodeo?

Poor GM engineering is the real reason that the light comes on. But seriously you need to have a dealer or service tech hook up the truck and get the code to determine why the light is coming on. Remember that this is a sealed transmission, GM decided to engineer it to never be serviced. So most repairs will need to be done by the dealer or a transmission shop. And don't let them scam you about changing the Transmission oil, like I said, it's a sealed transmission, they can't change out the filter and oil on it.
