How do you adjust cold start on diesel pump on 2.8 TD Isuzu trooper?
The CSD is operated by a solenoid on the fuel return pipe at the rear of the fuel injection pump. Power to the solenoid is delivered by a water temp sender in the thermostat housing. there is no adjustment, it is either off or on - when on there should be an enhanced diesel knock noise, which should reduce when engine temp rises and the solenoid closes.
There is also a restrictor flap inside the exhaust manifold which restricts gas flow when cold - this can become seized and restrict performance.
What is the wiring diagram for a 1992 Isuzu trooper?
Depends on the motor. All the wiring schematics are shown in the Chilton's manual available at most part stores for around 15 dollars
How do you replace the window motor on a 1994 Isuzu Trooper?
Unfortunately you can't just change the motor. You have to buy and replace the whole assembly including the window. Its a rip-off but the motor, ratchet, arms and window comes as one replacement assembly.
Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 2002 Isuzu trooper?
need a picture of a 2002 Isuzu engine. Need to know where the fuel pressure regulator is located.
Is the factory blue paint on an 86 trooper the same as the factory blue on an 88 trooper?
Yes, blue is blue. '86 or '88 you are fine. Spray away.
Where is the egr valve located on 1998 Isuzu Rodeo and how can you correct EGR flow insufficient?
It is located on the left side back for the engine looking from the front. Once u find it remove the two bolts and pull upward. Remove the gasget and use Carb cleaner to remove all the carbon deposits inside the EGR valve. This worked for me and i saved 110 dollars by not replaceing it. Works just like new.
How do you change the headlight on a 1998 Isuzu Trooper?
1) Open the hood. You replace the lamp from the inside. DON'T start unscrewing the headlight from the outside. There is not a lot of room to work with so it helps to have small hands. Make sure you have plenty of light as well. You will also need a small flat bladed screwdriver
2) There is a white plastic locking ring that holds the bulb assembly inside the headlight. Reach in and unscrew it. The assembly should now come out of the headlight.
3) This is the hard part. Look for a white plastic tab on the assembly. Theroretically you should be able to press down on the part of the tab closest to the base (where the wires come out) but you will need some extra help with from the screwdriver. Press down on the tab hard with your thumb and insert the screwdriver into the exposed slot closest to the base. Pry out the old bulb with the screwdriver by pressing up on the black tab that is part of the bulb base. Be careful not to lose the locking ring. The bulb is the only thing holding it in.
Note by fisherpaulh: This also works for 2002 Trooper. I didn't "press up on the black tab", but I pressed down on the black tab by inserting the screw driver from the bulb side and pried the white assembly up and away from the bulb base. Once they separated, the bulb fell right out.
4) Put the new bulb into the locking ring.
5) Plug the bulb and ring into the assembly WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BULB!!
6) Insert back into the headlight and screw the locking ring back in place.
Would it be acceptable to use 5W-30 motor oil in a full size 1999 Isuzu Trooper for oil change?
5w-30 is the best to use on the trooper, i take it, it is the 3.0DT? Its a very fickle engine and doesnt like any other type
Where is the transmission filter on a 1994 Isuzu trooper?
If it's a 4L30E (the automatic), it's in the main pan (the big square pan behind the small rectangular overdrive pan). Easy to change but you can't drain the transmission fluid. Messy job. Make sure you keep everything clean (as in spotless) and use a plastic gasket scraper. It is possible to ge the old gasket off in one piece if you do itvery slowly and carefully. Then 3 bolts to change the filter. There is another gasket on the valve body that has to be removed as well. It's about an inch and a half square. The new gasket should be on the filter already. Good luck
Quaker State Full Synthetic is OF COURSE the best oil out there, and for good reason. It is the recommended oil by Ferarri. When an extreme performance car company with engines dealing with extreme RPM and a serious pounding stands behind a lubricant and specifically recommends it in a car commonly selling for up to, and over a million dollars, they have their reputation at stake. If that's not good enough for you to use Quaker State then slip some other brand in your engine. That information from Ferarri alone is enough to be in total confidence, your putting the BEST OIL possible in your vehicle. Don't listen to just anyone, but please do listen to Ferarri and rest assured. Their customers are the smartest and richest customers there are, and will have absolutely nothing but the best. Consider that when you ask yourself which oil to use.

How do you bleed brakes on a 1992 Trooper?
I used to bleed brakes one wheel at a time. I prefer doing 2 or 4 now at a time and it's pretty easy... You can buy very inexpensively, brake bleeding kits. I used 4 small baby food jars and 4 pieces of 2' long rubber hose that fit the bleeders tight on the back of each wheel. The bleeders are in the calipers. Hope that you can open each one without breaking them. I would recommend using penetrating oil (wd40 or something similar) on each one for about a week to help give you a fighting chance. Fill the baby food jars full of brake fluid and open the bleeders. I would recommend you have someone pumping the brakes for you. Be sure to keep the mastercylinder filled, don't let it go dry. Pump the brakes 2 or 3 times and refill. By doing this your expelling the air by pressing and by letting up, your sucking back brake fluid. Look for air bubbles coming from the hoses in the jars. As the air bubbles stop as the brakes are pumped, close the bleeders. The worst part of this entire job is opening the bleeders for the first time without breaking them. I would recommend using an 8 point boxed end wrench to open them. This will be a small tool and less likely to slip and strip out the bleeder.
How do you change the transmission oil on your 99 Isuzu trooper?
Drive the vehicle up on oil changing ramps. Turn off the vehicle. Set the parking brake. Block the wheels so the vehicle can't roll away. Support the transmission, remove the cross bar from under the tranny pan. Place a drain pan under the drain plug and drain the transmission. Remove all the screws from the drain pan except 2 on each side of the tranny pan ease one of these last two out to drain remaining fluid from the pan. Remove the pan and gasket and clean them thoroughly, remove and replace the filter-check to make sure the rubber gasket from the old filter came out with the filter otherwise use a finger to remove it from the tube. Put the new gasket on the pan use a small dab of high temp gasket sealer to keep the gasket from falling off of the pan, but be careful not to use too much gasket sealer as you don't want it getting into the new tranny fluid or pan. Replace the pan bolts and tighten. Replace the metal support bar and remove the wood blocks you placed to support the tranny when you started the project.
Remove the drain plug. This is where you will have to fill the transmission from as well, here is a tip I came up with to get the job done. Get a step ladder and put it next to you truck toss something over it so you don't scratch you truck and duct tape it in place. Get an old plastic jug/tranny oil jug clean it out very well, drill a hole in the bottom of it and put in a screw in plastic hose barb. use silicon gasket maker or similar product to keep it from leaking since you won't be able to reach inside to put the nut on it. Once dry attach a hose to it that will fit up inside of the fill/drain hole in the trooper's tranny pan without kinking and block the outflow of the tube with a locking pliers. Drill a hole in the top of the jug (not in the cap) and put in a tire stem, you may have to go to a bike shop or tire store for this. Clean out the plastic drill shavings and fill 3/4 full with tranny oil. Screw on the cap, shove the hose into the tranny fill/drain hole and remove the pliers, put the jug on the ladder and tie, duct tape it to the ladder so it cannot fall off and use a small amount of air pressure to force the tranny fluid into the transmission pan. Have a drain pan underneath to catch any drips once the pan is full start the vehicle and continue to fill until it drains back into the catch pan. Put the drain/fill plug back in place. Back the vehicle off of the ramps drive it around the block or a down the section to the first field road come back and with the vehicle running unscrew the drain/fill plug add more if needed. There is enough fluid in the tranny when you open the plug and only a small drip comes out or you stick your finger up the hole and can feel fluid on your finger, I prefer the drip test.

If a smog inspector said that the EGR EVAP and Fuel Pressure sensor are modified on a 1988 Isuzu Trooper II 2.6, then the problem has to be fixed before the smog inspector will approve the vehicle for registration. The EGR EVAP and Fuel Pressure Sensors have to be put back the way they came from the factory.
Is it normal for the oil pressure to fluxuate in your Isuzu 1995 trooper at different rpms?
Yes. Some. But you should have at least 20 - 40 lbs at idle. 60 - 80 lbs when running at highway speeds.
How do you replace the radiator in a 1995 Isuzu Trooper?
Remove the two piece rad shroud, remove fan and fan clutch. Remove both rad hoses, if you have a automatic trans you will need to remove the trans cooler lines. The rad will be easy to remove at this point. The hardest part can be removing the trans cooler lines; a quality flare nut wrench must be used because otherwise you will strip the hex off the line.
Can you get a diagram of a belt pulley system for a 1988 Isuzu trooper?
The Isuzu Trooper has a diagram for how to route the serpentine belt under the hood. The diagram is located on top of the fan shroud on the left side of the hood locking latch.
How do you fix a flashing TOD light in a 99 Trooper?
My TOD light is flashing. My brother's TOD light has been flashing for over a year. There are only three components that are possible to fail in this system. 1) the TOD computer 2) the viscous coupler (clutch) inside the transfer case 3) the speed sensors on transfer case.
The clutch in the transfer case almost never goes bad, and would be a lot more major to fix, so start with the easy stuff. My brother replaced his computer with a known working computer, still didn't fix the problem. He then bought new (used) speed sensors and installed them. Problem didn't go away. He then checked every single electrical connection in the system, didn't fix it. Installed another known working set of speed sensors (there are two), and that fixed the problem. It seems like this is the most common reason for failure of the TOD system. I haven't located new speed sensors for mine, but I'm fairly certain that is the problem. You can verify by pulling the codes using a code reader, or a simple test light (the code reader is a much easier way and most auto parts stores will run the codes for you).
Good luck.
Where is the drain plug for the transmission fluid on a 1995 2WD Isuzu Rodeo?
Sorry...no plug you need to remove the pan to service the AUTO trans. If it's a 5 speed there is a plug on the back left of the trans.
