I have had the Catalytic Converter removed from every vehicle I have ever owned because I get ticked when they clog up. Get the car on ramps (level) and look for the fill level plug (torx head-same size as drain plug) screw on the driver's side towards the front where the sump tapers in. Undo and watch it drip out or not. regards, John

The Jaguar is a Compact and Strong Cat. There are multiple Jaguar Species and they all vary in size and weight. On an average they weigh between 56 to 96 kilograms (124 to 211 pounds). Large males weighing as much as 160 kilos (350 pounds) have been recorded. Females are usually 10 to 20% smaller than Males. Length wise, they range between 1.2 to 1.95 meters (4 to 6.4 feet) without the Tail. The Tail itself could be around 45 to 75 cms. Height wise, they are around 65 to 75 cm (25 to 30 inches) at their shoulder.

Assuming the 4.2 has it's original head, then no, the manifold won't fit. The 3.4 and 3.8L engines had a 'curved' port head, while the later 4.2 had the 'straight' inlet ports. As such, the center to center distance of the intake ports are different on the two heads. The manifold may indeed bolt up, but the inlet ports and cooling ports will not match up.

Find the air filter (or either air filter on a V-12). Follow the air tube back toward the engine. The throttle body will be the last stop before the engine. It will have control arms/cables and a linkage for the butterfly (the brass disk inside that controls the air intake)

The R probably stands for racing. If a jaguar has an R at the end of it's name, it means that it was fitted with better performance parts such as a supercharger, larger brakes, better suspension, limited slip differential etc. Jaguar R cars include the XKR, XJR, S-Type R and XFR. The "R" Jaguars are Jaguar's answer to BMW's "M" cars, Mercedes-Benz's "AMG" cars, Lexus' "F" cars and Cadillac's "V" cars.

All that happens when somebody buys a wild animal is that the animal grows up without knowing his kind in a type of captivity that is like jail. When it grows up, it is not a pet, it is a wild animal which has been treated badly. Find a charity that supports the area where Jaguars live and "adopt" one by donating money for the area or organizations that watch out for them.
