I would have thought that this was an easy question for a person who has driven a British car. The driver sits on the right hand side. All I want to know is what order are the pedals in the British cars. Are they opposite to American made vehicles?

I do believe that the oil sensor in a 1996 Jaguar tells you how much oil you have and it tells you the oil temperature.

thermostat is located between the rad and the engine under the throttle body inside the aluminum thermostat housing which has two screws holding is together and three medium size water hoses come out of the thermostat Housing.Undo the three clamps holding the three hoses to the housing then the thermostat housing will come out,then unscrew the two screws holding the thermostat housing together then you will find the thermostat.

The 0430 could be one of the O2 sensors on the bank 2 side ( usually opposite side of #1 cylinder ), it means that there is not enough difference between the O2 sensor readings before and after the catalytic converter. Another possibility is that the converter is bad, or there is an exhaust leak.

the best way to check this id to get it on a diagnostic computer and monitor the O2 sensor readings of both the upstream and downstream sensors, replacing both sensors is not a bad idea if the diagnostic is too pricey, I would start with the upstream sensor first though, if the cat is functioning properly it is the one most likely o be causing the problem.

could be the reason for the first code or just an after effect of it. O2 sensors are cheap enough and fail often enough that it should be your first move, reset the computer and see if the mil comes back on.

The 1388 might be the camshaft position sensor if it returns after the O2 sensor change.

Another possibility would be the timing chain or belt.

Since both codes are showing on the bank 2 side they are most likely related, that is, one is probably causing the other.

I have a 2003 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6 and my Jag will hit the full margin at 16 gallons. Edmunds currently is saying that it can hold up to 18.4 gallons but although this may be true (i have not attempted this quantity) you can technically say you have a "full tank" at 16 gallons. The reason I will not attempt 18.4 gallons is due to my fear of overfilling the tank.

Check that the latch is working. With the door open, Push the latch back with a screwdriver, & make sure it is holding in the closed position. If it does not hold closed the lock or inner door actuating mechanism may be faulty & would possibly need to be replaced. If it does hold closed, it should be just a matter of adjusting the striker plate.
