Yes you can, but you must loosen the passenger side motor mount and jack up that side of the motor to get to the one oil pan bolt under the mount.

not very much, I would quess that probably not more than 1000lb total weight. maybe not even that much. The power is not an issue, Its the height and wheelbase of the jeep, Its very hairy to controll while being pushed from the rear.

there are two bolts you have to turn to loosen the shoes from the drum. located on the backing plate. also there might still be two or three screws holding the brake drum on located where your wheel bolts on. then it is just like any other drum brake job.

The VIN should be located on the windshield wiper motor mount bracket right above the steering wheel. If it isn't there, sometimes it can be reprinted on the sticker just inside the driver side door. However, it is not uncommon for these to go missing when someone scraps a jeep or rebuilds it or even totally redesigns it so that they can legally claim that it is built on a jeep format. If you're lucky you can track it down on the ownership papers, otherwise you're kind of SOL.

Drain the oil, remove and replace the filter. Add 4.5 quarts. Start the engine and let it run for 2 minutes. Shut it off, wait 15 minutes. Check the level and top it off. You now know.

That is how you connect 2 batteries in parallel. Like terminals are connected together. With this arrangement you still just have 12 volts, but the amperage doubles. You should also see the 2 positive terminals connected together. If not, then you may have a combination of parallel and series.

You can buy a kit to rebuild the calipers. It is simpler and easier to buy rebuilt calipers.

the cj was discontinued in 1986 so you have the only 89 cj ever. look in the driver side wheel well in the engine bay below the washer fluid bottle and the coolant recovery tank.

The VIN commonly associated with modern vehicles does not exist for the CJ3. These older vehicles only had serial numbers and some other manufacturing data. There is a data plate mounted on the right side of the firewall an inch or so below the edge of the cowl.

Take the cover off and divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion. Good time to change the oil too.

You need to find the vacuum leak that is causing the high idle. You might have had a gasket slide out of place during install.

Looking at the engine on the side with the distributor and spark plugs, it is half way up the block near the flywheel.
