1975 to 1986 Jeep CJ VIN numbers are usually located in several possible locations. You should find a tin plate on the drivers side firewall near the brake master cylinder. You may also find one on the drivers side dash or the inside body panel by the floor near the parking brake lever. On mid 80's models it should also appear on the windshield wiper motor cover inside the Jeep. An abbreviated version is usually found on the top of the passenger side frame rail above the rear wheel. Most U.S. and Japanese vehicles put the VIN just inside, bottom left corner of the windshield.

It's made of cardboard. Reach under the dash and rip it apart. Get it wet if you have to. Replace tit with an aftermarket plastic one.

That depends on the condition of the vehicle. Could be a few hundred dollars to in the thousands.

There are 5 nuts that need to be removed. 2 on the drivers side under the plastic cover and 2 on the passenger side near the back. The 5th nut is in the center on the floor and is attached to a v-cable that is also attached to the back of the seat. After the bolts are removed the seat needs to be lifted straight up to get the tabs at the top of the seat out of the holders.

Yes, (in 4x4 applications the gear ratio/s match the front axle). 2 wd there is no front ratio to match.

The heater blower motor resistor should be above the vent, behind and just below the glove box. It should have a three prong connector.

Four 12V batteries may not be connected end to end to obtain 36 Volts. But four 12V batteries can be connected end to end to provide 48V and push 36 amps. The actual answer to your question suggests that you drop one 12V battery and use three, not four 12V batteries end to end to obtain 36V.

Yes connect all 3 batteries in series. 6+6+12=24 volts.

If you connect the four batteries in series, you get 1.5 x 4 = 6 volts total. So the four batteries give more volts.

If the question is which alternative will deliver more power as in watts, that depends on both the batteries and the application. As an example, a 12 V car battery has higher capacity and can deliver far more watts than eight torch batteries in series for the same number of volts.

But as long as the maximum current the application draws is no higher than what the smallest batteries can deliver, the power (watts) will depend only on voltage.

Not to be trite, but you have checked the brakes, haven't you. If so, then the timing appears to be off. If you have set the ignition timing correctly, then it is possible that the timimg chain is off by one tooth. This can be partially corrected through ignition timing, allowing the motor to rev, but there will be minimal power. I know that it is a pain in the A__ becaquse you have to remove the fan, water pump, timimg cover, etc., but when all else fails.... Once you have everything removed from the front of the engine, place cylinder #1 at top dead center, then the marks on the timing gears should be lined up.

The normal size is 15Gal or it could be a 20 gal, mostly it should be the 15gal size

The serial number is on a data plate on the right side of the firewall just below the lip of the cowl. It's held on by four screws, so it may be missing. If it is gone, there is no way to find the serial number unless you have some detailed history of the vehicle.

Don't bother trying to remove them unless you have a spare weekend to waste and a lot of patents!!

You would be better advised to use an aqua vac or similar washing type machine.

If you are interested you will need to remove the seats from the vehicle,

strip the cushions from the seat frames, release the material from the foam padding then remove all of the small metal clips that secure the fabric to the padded cushions(approx 50/100 per seat).

Once washed they will all have to be refitted and made to look like they have not been disturbed.

You know when your calipers are going bad when you change your break pads and realize they are still pretty thick, yet you have problems slowing down, your car feels like it stutters, like it tries to hit the breaks for you, but it doesn't succeed. When you check your calipers, you know they are bad because they are not lubricated well enought slide against each other, and they get stuck. If this happens, properly lubricate them and see what happens. This will allow your calipers to slide with ease, and it won't feel like your car is tripping over itself.

Note: Never use grease on calipers. - When you take them off to replace pads, scrub the slides with a wire brush till totally clean, then lubricate with dry graphite powder
