Are all 1983 cj7's considered renegades?
"Renegade" is a trim package, other trim packages that were available include Laredo and golden eagle. As far as i know the renegade was the most basic package.
What are the cylinders numbered on an amc 304?
My old Chilton repair manual shows for the American Motors Corporation V8 engines : Firewall 8 - 7 6 - 5 4 - 3 2 - 1 FRONT The distributor rotor turns CLOCKWISE ( distributor is at front of engine ) The spark plug firing order is ( 1 - 8 - 4 - 3 - 6 - 5 - 7 - 2 )
What is the difference between a cj5 and cj7 jeep?
If you're just trying to tell the difference, the 5's have an "S" shaped door opening while the 7's have a "u" shaped opening.
The other difference is that if you're in a 5 and you pass a 7, you get to wave first. :)
How much oil is required in a 1976 CJ5 with a 232 engine?
I believe it takes 6 quarts with a filter change, but it is easy to find out. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and replace the oil filter. Pour in 5 quarts of the correct weight oil. Start the engine and let it run for 45 seconds. Shut the engine off and wait 45 minutes. Check the level and add as necessary to reach the full mark. You now know the capacity.
What is the original tire size for a 1979 cj5?
Jeep equipped this vehicle with more than one possible size during production.
Original Equipment Size 1: 205/75-15
Original Equipment Size 2: 215/75-15
More than likely being yours is a CJ5 it came with the 205/75-15
The CJ7 had the larger size tire.
How do you swap a Jeep 258 for a Chevy V8?
You have to use the bell housing from a Chevy "IronDuke" engine that was used in the jeep cj's for a few years. It will allow you to bolt a Chevy 350 engine inline with the ford t90 transmission. The Iron Duke was the Chevy engine used "Before" the amc designed their own 4 cylinder which used another bell housing that WILL NOT work for your purpose. Good Luck in changing out your engines and finding that bell housing, it's very hard to find one!
I have a Cj7 with a yj top what doors do i use?
CJ7 doors will fit on all CJ7s and YJs regardless of the top, as long as they are OEM. The tubs are very similar! But... the seal will not be quite as good on a YJ as they would be on a CJ.
Where is the 1980 Cj5 headlight fuse?
There is a fuse box underneath the dash below the steering column. The fuses should be labled.
Where is the starter on a 83 jeep CJ 7?
I've never looked under the hood of an '83, but, I have an '84. I have both the wiring diagrams for each and it looks like your starter should be on the same side of the engine as mine (pass. side). My starter is below my oil filter and set further back. Also, I am pretty sure you can follow your starter solenoid main lead all the way to your starter motor. What is a 1985 cj5 jeep worth?
It really depends on a lot of factors. Such as engine size, transmission type, overall appearance mileage, and lots of other things. You can look up values at nadaguides.com, just search under classics. Also take into consideration if it is a daily driver the value will be lower than a show vehicle. Also another way to get a good average value is to see what they are selling for in your area, just compare similar models and you should be fine. A good price for a decent 1985 CJ5 should be around $3000, but it can be much more or less. Good luck with your hunt for a Jeep.
What oil goes in transfer case of 1978 jeep CJ7?
Gear oil...usually 75w90 weight. I would use Royal Purple or any synthetic gear oil. That goes for both differentials and the transfer case.

PUMP MOTOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY
When Monitored and Set Condition:
PUMP MOTOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY
When Monitored: Ignition on. The CAB commands the pump on at 20 km/h (12 mph) to
check its operation, if the brake switch is not applied. If the driver has their foot on the
brake, the test will run at 40 km/h (25 mph). The CAB monitors pump voltage every 7
milliseconds.
Set Condition: The DTC is stored when the CAB detects: 1) Improper voltage decay after
the pump was turned off. 2) Pump not energized by the CAB, but voltage is present for 3.5
seconds. 3) Pump is turned on by the CAB, but their is insufficient voltage to operate it.

I bought a stereo to install myself. The pro-installer/salesman told me of this wire. You know how the stereo display light goes brihgt to dim when you turn on your head lights? This is a low voltage input to the stereo. Is this what you are dealing with?
Checking oil level on 1989 H-D Sportster?
First start the engine, bring the engine to operating temp. (this brings the oil that has settled into the bottom of the engine case back to the oil tank) Then with the bike held in an upright position, pull the dipstick and check the marks on the dipstick. It is a common mistake to check the oil without starting the engine. if you do not start the engine you will get a false reading and overfill the oil tank.
How do you widen your body frame?
Do chin ups to widen your back/lats. Do side raises and dumbell shoulder press to broaden your shoulders and fill your t-shirt.
The switch is located at the top of the steering column near the brake pedal. There is a bracket attached to the brake pedal that contacts and opens the switch when the brake is not being applied. Push on the brake the switch closes, and the lights come on. Look up the switch on Autozone.com or equivalent to see what it looks like. It's very hard to spot where it's at.
Good luck
Answer i believe there is a switch on the brake pedal lever near the top. I will go look on my jeep when I go back outside.
Also, the brake light circuit has its own fuse separate from the signal lights.
How do you adjust timing on a 1980 jeep cj7 258 inline 6?
1) First you must know the firing order, it's 1-5-3-6-2-4 looking from the cooling fan side. 2) Remove the distributor cover. 3) Remove #1 spark plug. 4) Find #1 T.D.C 5) Remove the distibutor but keep it near the engine and see if the hammer points to #1 spark plug cable, if not rotate it to the #1 spark plug cable ,then put the distributor back agian. 6) Put the distributor cover and #1 spark plug back again and connect the cables. 7) Start your engine.
