There is no such piece as Intermezzo 2. Brahms wrote many intermezzi and they are all identified by their opus numbers. Eg op 118 no 1 or 119 no 4 so you will have to be more specific.
His famous works are:
Piano Concert No. 1 in D Minor
Piano Concert No. 2 in B-flat Major
Symphony No. 1 in C Minor
Symphony No. 3 in F Major (3rd Movement)
A German Requiem
Violin Concerto in D Major
Hungarian Dances
Variations on a Theme by Paganini
His Lullaby
Johanna and Anna Brahms, Peter Radeloff Nissen and Anna Mergratha von Bergen.
Johannes Brahms wrote 121 opuses. Many are sets of pieces or variations. There are also many pieces posthumously published.
Brahms completed four symphonies.
He never wrote an opera.
He had an older sister elise and a younger brother friedrich
Many of his compositions are famous. Here are just a few examples: the four symphonies, the four concertos, 'Cradle Song', the German Requiem.
Brahms formed the Requiem tightly and symmetrically with the first and last movement bestowing blessings on those who mourn, the second and sixth movements expressing the darkness and of death, the third and fifth movements meditatively expressing a seeking of hope and the promise of it. However, it is the fourth/middle movement (and the shortest) that Brahms uses to provide calm, rest, and tranquility in an almost pastoral manner. The text is taken from Psalm 84:1-2, 4 : "How lovely is Thy dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my body crieth out for the living God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house; they praise Thy name evermore" (Psalm 84:1-2, 4).
Johannes Kepler had six siblings, although three of them died at an early age. Of the remaining three, two of them grew up to be normal, law-abiding citizens, while Heinrich was an epileptic who was always either sick or in trouble.
Brahms was a virtuoso Pianist. Like his father, he also played the horn. In his early years, Brahms found employment as a third horn player, as well as piano. Although the valve horn was around at the time, Brahms favored the timbre of the natural horn.
Brahms wrote 4 symphonies. He easily could have written more, but it took him over 20 years to write his first, due largely to the incredible shadow left by Beethoven, who Brahms respected immensely..
I got this info off of a guy's blog; MUCH more detail there, just thought I'd spread the love :)
