Why is King Tutankhamun pharaoh famous?
His tomb was found full of gold and was the only one not robbed because other tombs collapsed on it. But no one robbed it because if they did they would they would think that they would be cursed by the tuts curse
but it turned out that his tomb was never cursed the only reason that lord carnavon died because of the bacteria on the walls (ex. mold)
Is there really a curse of king tut?
There are two theories which are obvious- the curse was real or the curse was fake. There is evidence that the curse could be fake, but there is no actual solid evidence. No one is absolutely certain, but they say that instead of the curse killing Lord Carnavon (one of the first people to enter the tomb) it was in fact the bacteria spores he inhaled while entering the tomb. Bacteria had developed from the foods left in the tomb (it was left there because they thought the Pharaoh would need it in the afterlife) and once the tomb was opened, the spores were released and Lord Carnavon inhaled them. At the time he as not in his best of health and was in fact quite ill, so it would make sense that he died once inhaling the bacteria. Others who believe the curse is real say that this is not true. When the tomb was opened and they unwrapped the mummy, they found a strange wound on his cheek. Lord Carnavon was bitten by a mosquito in that exact same spot. He cut the wound while shaving and it became infected and he died. All part of the curse.
It is also said that the exact moment Carnavon died all the lights in Cairo mysteriously blacked out. This can also be explained for apparently at the time blackouts were common in Cairo, but I am not sure if this is true.
It is also said that the exact moment he died his favourite dog Susie howled mournfully and suddenly died. People argue this can't be true, because Carnovan died approximately at 1:00am and Susie died at around 4:00am. But it in fact does make sense because Egypt and England (where Carnovans house was) are in different timezones.
But another thing that baffle those who believe in the curse is that the very first person to open the tomb, Howard Carter, lived on a decade after the opening and died later from a disease of the lung. He lived to a ripe old age. People argue that his punishment was to watch his colleagues drop off like flies around him as he watched them die. This could be true, but people argue that if the curse was in fact true he should have died the worst death among all his colleague's. Once again no one is certain of whether it is true or false. It remains a mystery. But all this information just boils down to one question.
Do you believe in the curse?

What is the Tutankhamun curse?
Howard Carter entered the burial chamber of Tutankhamun on 17 February 1923. On 6 March, Lord Carnarvon (his financial backer) was bitten by a mosquito. The bite became infected and he died on 5 April. Rumors began to spread that the curse of Tutankhamun's tomb had claimed its first victim. According to Christine el-Mahdy, it was the Arab peoples of Egypt in the first century AD who were the first to suggest that a mummy could come to life and attack anyone who broke into a pharaohs tomb. This idea remained popular partly because the Ancient Egyptian language and culture had long since been suppressed and so there was no-one to correct this misunderstanding. When Carvarvon died following the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, the notion of a curse was revitalized (but without the reanimation of the mummy).

The Curse of Tutankhamen was a curse that kept everyone involved in the tomb excavation on edge, and added to the mummy mystery. I believe there was no actual curse; the deaths were just a negative side effect of the dangerous air and spores released after growing in the tomb for thousands of years. This does not happen to many tombs as most resting places had been disturbed by grave robbers after the burial, prior to discovery. Now the real question is… what killed king tut?
