He didn't play sports. In this time "sports" were not like they are today. Many sports like football, basketball, soccer had not been invented yet . The ones that were invented were dice games, horse races , foot races to name a few.

So a person might be a heart surgeon, and an authority on satirical verse, and be skilled in archery, while also keeping an olive farm and producing the best olive oils in the district.

Or someone could be a baker, and have an immense interest in restoring old cars to gleaming perfection. Or they could be a homemaker who has a great appreciation of music of many genres.

It usually follows that the more interests a person has, the more they can take on and the more time they will find to fit them all in... rather like a person who has one child they love infinitely; they devote all their life to that child, and then they have another child whom they adore to the same extent as the firstborn, and for whom they find equal time to share with that child, and so on, regardless of how many children they might end up having. And each of the children share amongst themselves and with their parent or parents, and others in their community, the gifts that come with being part of a whole family.

The great Russian composer, Borodin, was a scientist, as da Vinci was; their other talents ranged widely, Borodin's notably encompassing music, da Vinci's taking in painting and sculpture.

One might have great talent in one direction and equally great talent in another; each direction will inform and complement the other. Because two or more gifts might differ, this doesn't mean they don't connect and interact in the same person simply because these skills combine in the same person.

Others within the same circle of friends and acquaintances might also encompass an immense range of interests, and each person will contribute to the enhancement and enjoyment of others with whom they come into contact.

But it doesn't necessarily follow that a person will share all or any of their gifts with others; many are content to simply enjoy privately their most creative moments.

Leonardo da Vinci started painting the "Last Supper" in 1495 and finished by 1498.

the concept was simple. the basic requirement was to make the screw/ mast rotate at a high speed. the paper would compress air, the pressure of which would provide the thrust fro flight.

In all recovered drawings of Leonardo da Vinci, he appears to be of normal weight.

No he is not French, he is American. His correct name is Leonardo Di Caprio.

When asking info about an artwork you must always name tha artist. Especially in this case. The Last Supper is an important scene in the Bible and has been painted by hundreds of artists through the centuries. Let me guess you mean the one by Leonardo da Vinci.
It is 4.6 by 8.8 meters (roughly 15 by 29 feet).

The painting is a portrait and so the colors are the actual colors he saw. The composition of the painting is an important element. He was a trained artist, and so much of what he did was informed by that training.

Clocks are much older than Leonardo. Although they are, Leonardo redesigned the clock so that it was more accurate. His redesigned clock measured minutes and hours with elaborate weights & harnesses. I'm not exactly sure the time he redesigned this however.

Much of Michelangelo's work can be seen in Italy, especially in the Vatican. Frescoes by Leonardo are also in Italy, Milan is where you can see the 'Last Supper'. The Louvre owns 'The Mona Lisa'. In Milan a new show with many da Vinci drawings and sketches will go on display in August of 2011, and with so many works the display will change every 3 months.

Da Vinci's journals were written in a mirror-image cursive script with his left hand. Most believe they were written that way to keep his notes secretive.

To put it simply, this person is trying to say that Leonardo wrote backwards. That is how he took notes. He was left handed and he wrote things down backwards. To be able to read it, you'd need a mirror.

He probably tooknotes by writing anything that seemed important. He kept journals with him all the time. If he saw anyone with an interesting face, he would follow them around and observe them, often drawing sketches.

He invented things because he wanted to let people know what he could do and how smart he was. Also he invented things that we know use like helicopter, submarine, cannon, machine gun and a whole lot of other stuff too.

well, i have been wondering the same thing. i went through few books with his notes, and searched online for any documentation about his water pump, because i wanted to build one.

Leonardo made notes about his "Hydrolic water pump for a fountain, Codex Atlanticus, 1478-1518". Google this phrase and you will get see a picture of his note.

when i was in the museum of science in Boston, there was/is there a copy of one machine he designed, i cant recall if they said that he actually built it.
