The oil filter is located under the car just to the right of the oil pan. You should use an oil filter wrench to remove the filter.

I was just at the local dealer to have my 1991 Mark 7 serviced and asked the service person the same thing. My car seems to go into neutral if I drive it with the "OD". He told me that it would cost about $250 to have the transmition serviced. Just to change the fluids and such. Then if I needed it, $1600 to have the transmition rebuilt. If I were to buy a new transmition from them and then have a warranty on the new transmition, it would cost about $3500. I only have 80k miles on the car and figure I may as well try the least expensive option first. I have read on other message boards that my problem isn't unique and that getting the service done plus having them replace a cable for the OD is the fix.

235/75/15 wold be the standard tire sizefor a 79 Lincoln Town Coupe', Town Car, and Mark V. Tire size broken down? 235 is the width of the tread measured in millimeters. 75 is the percentage of the width (in this case 75% of 235 mm) is the tire profile. OR, the sidewall of the the tire from the road to the edge of the wheel rim. A tire that has a size of 235/40/15 would have a far lower profile, or road to rim measurement, and would be considered and higher performance tire. Lastly, the 15 on the tire you had the size question on indicates the wheel rim diameter in inches....

yeah im trying to solve this problem too.. the dealer sells it for 125.00 and you can install it yourself, there is many websites that tell you how to do it step by step

i had a similar problem, you have to check the electrical cables of the injectors and the cables that connect to the coils, if this don't help, check the air mass flow sensor and the speed control sensor of the car, both located between the air filter and the intake.. i hope this can fix your issue..
