More than likely because its leaking.

If the gas smell is stronger in the trunk then that normally indicates that there is a leak in a fuel line around or on top of the tank...usually it is on top of the tank because dirt/salt ect can build up on the tank and the lines corrode...

If the smell is stronger inside the car then it could indicate a leak in the fuel line from the engine compartment to the center point of the car...

None the less if you are smelling gas then there is a leak somewhere in the system and you should have it checked before it catches fire and burns up...

I was looking at one of the Ford websites and it shows :

There isn't one. You can purchase a harness that will plug into the back of the factory radio. It is a wiring harness that plugs into the 16 and 24 pin connections on the back of the radio. Then you plug the harness you unplugged into the new harness. Then there is a wire that runs down and comes out under the dash to plug in the mp3 player.

There are harnesses available that use the Satellite Radio input so that you can control the mp3 player from the stereo, assuming you have the Satellite-ready radio and you do not currently subscribe to Sirius or XM radio.

There are harnesses that use the AUX input, but I don't know how much you could control the mp3 player from the stereo controls with that option, though. The AUX jack is for an in-trunk CD changer that is optional on the vehicle. Since the CD changer would be controlled through the radio, there might be basic control for the mp3 player possible, although probably not with the song titles (text), as you would have if you get the one that runs through the satellite control.

Any of these options will require getting into the dashboard, which is something I wouldn't advise unless you know what you are doing.

Take the car to a TRANSMISSION shop. You have an internal problem that would need fixed.

The only information I have found on this one is that it is located in the coolant pump.

There is not one. Transmission is sealed. Take to dealer.

You can cut the wavy piece away and at Pep Boys there used to be black molding strips for a couple of bucks and you can trim to fit and does a good job. The wavy molding is attached to the window so the whole assembly would have to be changed to fix the molding if you want OEM.

i presume you are refering to the inertia fuel cutoff switch. it is located next to the air ride cutoff swithch in the trunk

inside the oil pan take the oil pan off and there it will be bolted to th engine

disconnect the battery.4 bolts removes the airbag cover, then you unplug the airbag, get under the dash, undo the plugs for the clock spring, then remove it.. obviously reassemble the same way.. you shouldn't do this unless you know what you are doing!!!!

Drain the old stuff out from the plug on the oil pan (replace the filter while you're under there). Put the new stuff into the fill cap on the engine.

WHY DONT YOU JUST PULL THE FUSE TO THE FUEL PUMP

Get a manual on your car from the parts store for about $18 and it will help on the next repair.

The Saturn Ls1 that I own I have replaced the brakes twice and each time I am forced to buy the brakes frome Saturn although this car is 5 years old the parts for this 2000 Saturn LS1 are not allowed to be sold on the open market.

It may be low of lube or a bearing may be defective. Have it inspected by a professional.

5w20 is the correct weighted oil for Lincoln ls v6

This is correct, some labels on car and filler cap says 5w30, there is a Ford TSB stating that 5w20 is correct

I'm not a mechanic / technician but check to see if the button has popped up

on the top of your fuel pump inertia switch ( fuel pump shut off switch )

In a 2004 Lincoln LS the switch is in the drivers footwell , behind the kick

panel ( there is an access hole through the kick panel )

I was just told where the PCV valve(s)are on my 2000 Lincoln LS by the Service representative of my local Ford dealer. Apparently there are two PCVs. Each is an integral part of the valve cover(s). They tell me that they cannot be replaced without replacing the complete covers. (What a bad design ?). I am finding all this all out the hard way. They tell me that both PCVs are carboned up and plugged. That in turn has created backpressure in the engine and under the valve covers. This has resulted not only in blowing the seals (gaskets?) on the valve covers, but also in filling up one of the plug wells with oil (yes, the spark plugs are under the covers on the LS), and caused a misfiring of the sparkplug. I have been experiencing this misfiring at certain engine speeds during the last few weeks. Also, there has been a faint smell of oil fumes coming from the engine recently. The repair is going to consist of 2 new Covers (c/w PCV valves), new spark plugs, and at least one sparkplug coil. Estimated Cost of repair : $1,100 !! Anyone have any comments ?
