How do you change the air ride to shocks on a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII?

I wouldn't do it They do make a conversion kit but it is extremely inadequate and doesn't hold up anywhere as well as air ride.I am currently in the process of converting one of my Marks back to air ride after the previous owner put the spring kit on it it is just terrible. The air ride system is not all that difficult to repair and doesn't have to be costly either if you know where to look for the best prices on parts and fiding someone knowledgable enough to repair it without too much difficulty.

I have 3 Lincoln Mark7s and have used a Strutmasters kit on all 3 and am totally satisfied.

If you enjoy the lousy noisy ride and lowering the value of your cars glad your happy with all that I myself believe in preserving these wonderful cars not devalueing them or taking away from they're unique character that makes them stand out from other cars. I guess it's just a difference between someone who truly appreciates these cars and someone who just owns them.

How do you decode an engine block casting number on a classic Ford Mustang?

FOR EXAMPLE, IF THE BLOCK NUMBER IS C2DE 6015 BA, THE FIRST DIGET 'C' MEANS THE YEAR, SIXTY'S C= 60'S D=70'S E=80'S SECOND DIGET IS THE YEAR, IN THIS CASE IT WOULD BE A 1962! THE 6015 IS A NUMBER THAT FORD USES! THE OTHER NUMBERS I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN, SO SOMEONE HELP ME OUT!!! THANKS; REGGIE B. The first digit is the decade, the second is the year, the third is the car line, the fourth tells you what system the part is for. E is an engine part, B is a body part, F is a fuel system part, etc.. with all factory replacement parts having a Z as the fourth digit. 6015 is what's called the group number. This means that it is some kind of an engine block. 9510 is a carb, 9425 is an intake manifold, etc... and the last one or two digits tell you how many times the original design of the part has been changed. The number given as an example is not an actual casting number that Ford used, since they didn't start using double digit design level change designations until the 70s, but, if it were a real number, it would be telling you that this is the first change of the second design of an engine block that was originally designed for use in a 1962 Falcon.

How do you bleed the air from brake lines of 2002 Lincoln LS?

Remove wheel by wheel and rock the car to avoid slipping ( use jack stands for safety ) then you will find in the back of the caliper a bolt (bleed nipple) covered with small rubber cover, remove cover and start the engine, in this part you need assistance to press on the brake pedal many times (4 times pressing to the last then release), you have to be ready to untighten this bolt (bleed nipple) then ask your assistant to press full down and keep (DONT RELEASE THE PEDAL), once he pressed untighten the bolt (bleed nipple) but not too much, once the oil is out ( you have to put a container under this part) tighten it agin and ask your assistant to release the pedal, its better to do the four wheels to get the best performance and check the oil level before and after. Good luck

How do you change the thermostat on a 1995 Chevy Lumina LS?

I'm strugling with that right now. The thermostate is in a difficult position. follow the upper radiator hose and it leads into the block under the throttle body. Remove the air filter assembly and you'll c what is the exhaust manifold crossover pipe right in front of the thermostate housing. NICE, it gives you very little room to remove the 2 bolts to the housing and once u remove those then you'll find you have the thermostate housing loose but because of that darn exhaust manifold crossover pipe u don't have enough room to take the thermostate housing out to change the stinking thermostate. So from what I can see you have to remove the heat shield which is cased around the exhauste manifold croosover pipe and if you still can't get enough room to remove the thermostate, (which I'm about to find out)then you'll have to remove the crossover pipe as well just to change the thermostate. If you (and me) do have to remove the crossover pipe then their are 2 bolts on both ends of the pipe leading into the manifolds. But then the tough parts done and once u switch the thermostate over and ATTENTION:remove any old gasket material and put a new gasket in it's place then installation is reverse of removal.
