Is it legal to say 'f you' to a cop?

Legal or not it would be very unwise and quite out of order.

A cop is a person doing a job to enforce the laws WE have enacted though OUR political vote. Sometimes the cops must ask you to do things as part of their duties. If you were doing your lob how would you feel if someone 'f' you for doing it.

it is not illegal to say fu to a cop, because cops can not legally be offended. and i would know, because i flip cops the bird all the time. i got pulled over for it once, but the cops eventually had to let me go.

Is jaywalking illegal in any city in any state?

Yes, in fact, jaywalking is illegal almost everywhere in the U.S. simply because it is dangerous. Obviously, it is very hard to go to jail for jaywalking and also very hard to get caught while doing it. I don't even think you get a ticket for jaywalking, just a warning. Anyway, if you do jaywalk (which almost everyone does) be safe and carful.

What is the explanation for the concept of buyer's remorse?

You find a product, maybe a vehicle, that you MUST have. You "fall in love" with that car, so you buy it. Then maybe a few days later, you think, WOW I really can't afford this, or when you get the vehicle home, it really is not as "pretty" as it was on the dealer's lot and you say "What was I thinking" when I bought this. Now how can I get out of this foolish purchase?

Know that the Buyer's Remorse laws in all states do not apply to the purchase of an automobile. They only apply to unsolicited sales. A salesman coming to your door, uninvited, a tele-markerter calling you on the phone, these are unsolicited sales that do come under the Buyer's Remorse laws. Purchasing a vehicle where you visited a dealership and bought a car is a sale that you solicit and is not covered by any Buyer's Remorse law.

Is filing a false police report a felony?

I believe this might be lying to an officer of the court or lying to a police officer, but it might also fall under fraud or perjury. If it was a federal court, it might also fall under lying to a federal police officer -- remember Martha Stewart?

I'd bet that nearly ALL of these charges could be leveled in some circumstances. There could also be charges of federal mail fraud if it cross state lines.

I'm not a lawyer, so these are all guesses. Either a District Attorney, prosecutor, or a criminal defense attorney should be able to provide more details. It really depends on where you are and who you are. If you're a police officer, filing a false report is generally a misdeameanor and you will not be found guilty. On the other hand, if you don't have a good lawyer, you might find yourself guilty of a misdeameanor and in jail for a few days.

The Manual aims to:

  • provide detailed information on provisions contained in treaty-based law that are relevant to disaster response, the responsibilities such provisions place on state and humanitarian actors, and tools for encouraging and assisting states to act in accordance with their international obligations;
  • provide operational and policy guidance to support the development of rights-based approaches to post-disaster rehabilitation and tools to enable actors to integrate international protection standards into humanitarian programs;
  • improve understanding of the rights and vulnerabilities of different groups affected by natural disasters, and assist humanitarian actors in responding to gaps in the legal protection framework and to primary protection risks;
  • provide practical inspiration for ways in which to undertake rehabilitation in accordance with international standards by examining the experiences of other agencies operating in post-natural disaster environments; and
  • provide information and tools that can be used for advocacy or lobbying purposes, or to assist in the development or reform of national legal and regulatory frameworks.

Yes. You're on public property and therefore not trespassing. In addition, while protesting you are exercising your rights under the first amendment and that's protected by the Constitution. Cops will probably still try to bother with you (ESP. If its an Occupy protest), though, so be prepared. Get a legal observer to attend the protest in case the police show. Also, remember that they CANNOT search you without consent and you are not required to give them any information, including your name.
