Front or rear? Front is the same as most cars. Remove the caliper carrier, slide the carrier and caliper off the rotor, the old rotor just about falls off in your hand, use just about anything at hand to push the pads apart just a little, put on the new rotor, bolt the carrier/caliper back on. If you're replacing the pads at the same time, take one caliper bolt/pin out first and then pivot the caliper away from the pads. Then slide the caliper off the other bolt/pin. Then remove the carrier if necessary. The rear rotors are a touch different because the Miata uses a very unique parking brake set-up on the rear calipers. A 14 mm headed bolt on the back of the rear caliper has to be removed and a 4 mm Allen wrench or socket is used to release the parking brake mechanism before the caliper piston can be depressed. It is NOT the usual "turn the piston as you push on it" design that is most commonly used these days.

The best OEM-style battery for a Mazda Miata is the WestCo battery, made specifically for the car. They are of compact size and sealed, since they are located in the trunk. Note that all of the Miata sealed batteries are have small hoses connected on the _ and - sides of the battery. This allows any battery fumes to be ventilated out of the car. An aftermarket sealed battery MAY have these small ports in a different location. You'll just need to go to your local Autoparts store to purchase an extra 1-2' so you can replace the old tubing. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank.

It's in the trunk on the far right side.

Open the trunk, remove the trunk carpet. On the right side of the trunk, remove the fiberboard battery cover. Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the ground wire, noted with a "-" sign.

Miatas use a sealed battery, and will often have rubber vent tubes connected to the battery. The best replacement that is closest to OEM are WestCo Batteries, specifically made for the Miata.

Hi, I had a commodore VR and one of the power windows did not work after awhile. It operated with a button on the middle console that leads to the electric motor for the winder? I had to buy a new button from Holden and it was connected by an auto electrican. I think it is about $100 au to buy the part then I had it installed. Aparently the buttons (electrics to the winder( wear out eventually. Not sure if this helps?

hi you unscrew the whole of the light 2/3 with x screwdriver from the outside.

It is on the driver's side of the engine compartment back by the firewall. It normally has a yellow loop at the end, but they are plastic and can break off. Look for a long, thin metal tube with a yellow plastic bit on the end.

on the early miata, if the leak is between the sensor and valve cover or head just loosen it up ( make sure to mark the positon of it bafore you start messing with it) once is loosen put come silicon around and tighten it beck up into the original position.

If the leak is acctualy comming from the CPS get a new sensor

on the parking brake theres a bolt on the inner side, screw it inwards until the adjusment is right

Check the ignition wiring, fuel filter(dirty), fuel pump pressure(under pressure), air filter(dirt), and old, worn cracked, deteriorated rubber vacuum hoses. All this according to Haynes Auto Repair manual.

Follow the tube from the throttle body to the air filter box. Open that up with some clips or bolts. Replace.

The oil change usually helps quiet the lifter noise. You could replace all 16 hydraulic lifters if it really bothers you. Most Miata owners just live with it. Try 10W/30 oil.

The ignition switch could be the problem. Jiggle the keys a bit. As the switch ages it doesn't "sit" quite right. I know this was the problem when some of my stuff wouldn't work, like wipers, heater fan or power windows. Switch might have to be replaced at some point.

what is meant by IAT. The IAC is located right in front of the throttle body.

The Intake Air Temprature sensor is threaded into the cylinder number FIVE intake runner in the lower intake manifold.

If the answer refers to "it's not engaging completely to shift" it could be:

* not enough clutch fluid * slave cylinder clutch, damaged and needs bleeding/repair/replacement * master cylinder clutch, damaged and needs bleeding/repair/replacement First check for fluid, if enough, then bleed the circuit changing to new fluid. If looking at the cylinders, any of them is leaking, it needs repair, repair kits are found at NAPA (USA). it's cheaper than replacement, but if the cylinder is damaged it will leak again soon.

Some air in the circuit is enough for not letting the clutch work fully, and with the time the fluid will get water from ambient and that water will evaporate (with heat) creating air pockets.

If the answer refer to "side pedal play" you need to remove the pedal clutch assembly to replace the bushings

The headlight relays are just behind the driver's side headlight, attached to a plastic black divider, that goes from the rear of the driver's headlight to the air intake box. You'll see the two relays each sheathed in a rubber skin attached to this plastic divider on the fender side.
