The tail light covers (the painted bezels) use automotive double-sided tape. To remove them, you just need to gently pull them. They are 100% cosmetic. Removing them will not get you any close to the headlight bulbs, or anything else. You may want to try using a heat gun or blow dryer to soften the adhesive before trying to pull them off.

It is on the left side of the transmission near the tail shaft. Just screws in and has two wires. Hope this helped.

It's right behind the seats, in front of the trunk compartment, right under the rear deck (where the convertible top folds down).

10W30 or 5W30 will work just fine.

it is located on the mass air flow censor on the intake. it is connected right on the out side of it.It has 5 wires running to it.

1999-2005 Mazda Miatas do not really run MAP sensors like Hondas, they use a Mass Air Flow Sensor, the black, tubular piece on top of the air box. Miatas do have a boost sensor, and that is located on the intake manifold, half way down on on the lower section.

You must change the transmission fluid as you do it or the oil will leak out the hole the sensor goes in. Its held in by one 10mm bolt on the passenger side of the transmission, next to the ladder frame.

Drain the fluid, unbolt it, pry it out with a screwdriver, reconnect the new one, bolt it in, and fill the fluid, 2.1 qts i believe.

Turn it counterclockwise. If you are having problems getting the plug out of the rotary engine, then do not force the plug out. You can try spraying penetrating oil around the plug and letting it set overnight, then turning the plug back and forth until it finally comes out, but! Be very careful as it is very easy to strip the threads. To be safe, I suggest you take it to a professional for removal.

Ahh, the p0402 check engine light.

First make sure you're using throttle body cleaner, not carburetor cleaner. Carb cleaner will eat away at the lining on the inside of your manifold.


First remove the EGR valve. It's right on the back of your manifold and looks like a metal mushroom. Next unplug the wiring harness and hang it out of the way. The valve itself comes off fairly easy with two 10mm screws although you'll notice a wire brace has to be removed to get the screws out.


Now take the valve itself and go to town with your cleaner and some q-tips. Also, you'll notice that you can take a pencil and push down on the actual valve mechanism through the top hole. Do this as you clean to make sure the cleaner goes all the way through the valve.


Once the valve itself is as spotless as you can get it try your best to clean the insides of the holes on the manifold itself. When you're done replace the valve and the wiring harness and make sure it's bolted on nice and tight. There's no reason to use a gasket on this part. Then replace the wiring harness.


Now disconnect your positive battery terminal for about 20 seconds to turn off the check engine light and go for a drive. If the CEL comes back on then try again, otherwise you're good.

Sounds like tha tensioner is gone weak. The fan belt on an A4 has a Spring loaded tentioner and sometimes it goes weak over time. Looks like you need to replace it.

Behind the last runner on the header, just under the EGR tube.

I check mine 1990's oil every time I fill up at the gas station. The engine is old, but as long as it has been taken care of, it should all work out. I just carry a quart of oil in my trunk, and that quart will last me several months.

2001-2005 Mazda Miatas required a minimum of 91 octane.

I do have a soft top that had a plastic rear window which was replaced with a glass one. I bought my car used and I was told that the replacement kit and work is expensive.

I have a '94 Miata and my back window is pretty busted up. I was getting ready to shell out the $400 dollars for a new back window + labor fees to have it installed, when I came across two excellent DIY rear window replacements. They're a little tedious and time consuming, but will only cost you around $30-$50 rather than a large sum of cash. It involves cutting out the back window and carefully glueing in a new plastic piece. Both websites go into great detail with the instructions and have pictures. If you're interested in trying this task yourself to save a chunk of change, the websites are either; jimmypribble.com (look for Mazda miata rear window replacement). Yes.. can basically swap any motor as long as the drive train physically fits however, you would be much better swapping with either a 5.0 liter 302 V8 which is also a ford or a LS motor from a corvette. Both are much more established swaps with existing kits that make it MUCH MUCH easier than trying it with a different engine. Besides you will get alot more power out of either of those two power plants than you could out of a 4.0 liter ford engine

Most likely your clutch master cylinder is shot, if you haven't been changing the fluid once in the while they go bed.

Another thing is clutch itself, you may need a new one.

Also it could be you transition but they are usually bullet proof and I never see on go bed.

All the parts (other then transmission) are fairly inexpensive, and they even have kit to fix the master cylinder.

For my car, the release for the fuel tank is in the center compartment between the seats. Pull it up, and the gas cap cover will open. This is the same for 1990-2010 models.

There is a common problem where the gas cap will stick and not raise, particularly on Miatas with chrome fuel lids. This is because the rubber nubs that buffer the lid from its rest tend to stick. It is advisable to periodically keep them clean.

If you need to open the lid when it is stuck, have one person hold the release lever up, while the second person attempts to lift the lid. This can be done by lightly prying, or by rubbing with hand pressure to agitate the lid and break the sticking seal created by the rubber nubs.

It is in the trunk of all Mazda Miatas. There is no room for it in the engine compartment. Notice how small it is even compared to standard car batteries. Moving the battery to the back also helps with a better front-to-rear weight spread across the vehicle. Minor, but still a contribution nonetheless.
