I too work at mcdonald's and our managers are not nearly so well paid, but then our owners are tight on their money. How much everyone at a particular mcdonalds makes depends on the owners. If you have good, decent owners, you are suppose to get a review of your work performance every 6 months and depending on the review you are awarded between a .10 and a .30 raise. So there's really no set level.

The New store manager at my store makes about $3,000/mo. But the First assistant is only making 11.00/hr and he's been there since the store opened back in 1995. There are crew who make more than him. We have two grill people, one makes 11.20 the other 11.10 and they've been there just about as long as the first assistant. But when the new owners took over last fall they took away the 1st assistants salaried pay and gave him the 11.00/hr. They also took away all of the managers benefits, vaca time, sick time, ect. As well as discounts on food for employees.

McDonald's is not really a bad place to work for as long as you have good owners. McDonald's has a university in Chicago, Hamburger U. It's every manager's dream to go there because once you do you are qualified to make the big bucks as a store manager. McDonalds is also the ONLY fast food chain whose food, safety, and management classes will actually count as college credit electives for a business management degree.

Just don't let Mcdonalds suck you in and not take you anywhere. It seems to have a way of making people into "McLifers" as we call them, and nobody wants to spend 20 years at Mcdonalds only to be making 12/hr. It's not exactly a respected job. Customers tend to think you're an idiot and couldn't find better work, and they will tell you you're an idiot on a regular basis, when that's not really the case. I'm working on a bachelor's in education and was valedictorian of my class. There are 4 other people I work with the bachelor's degrees, one with a master's and a few associate's. It's just hard to find a job now days.

Ground beef is made not only from cuts of beef not suitable for being made into steaks or roasts from steers but also from carcasses that are not suitable for being cut into steaks or roasts period. The latter more often than not comes from cows that are culled from the beef or dairy herd. Cows may "just" be used to produce milk, but don't let yourself get caught up in the belief that that's the ONLY thing they are used for. Even bulls and heifers can be turned into a beef burger.

If you are cooking it, then the best way is to cook it on a bar-b-que grill that allows the grease to run between the grates. As you are cooking them on the bbq grill you can press down with a spatula and the grease will be squeezed out. But be careful, there is a good chance that the drippipng grease will flame up from the grill and can burn you.
There are several counter top grills that are on the market. One is named after a famous boxer and there are others that are also just as good. These allow the grease to run off the burger and into a catch pan.
If you are frying them in a pan, then you would need to place them on some paper towels on a plate when you finish frying them. This will absorb the grease from the burger. You will never get all the grease from the burger.
If you want no grease, they sell veggie burgers that are made from vegtables.
