Replace oil pump in 1997 mercury villager?

There is generally no reason to replace an oil pump unless the engine is being rebuilt. Low oil pressure is usually the result of worn internal engine bearings, not a bad oil pump. The oil pump normally produces much more oil pressure than the engine needs.

Does the 1999 mercury villager have an interference engine?

This is a non-interference engine

Although some in Asia, Europe, and a few in Canada had non-interference engines, most sold here in the US should be considered interference engines. Which means that if your timing belt breaks, serious internal engine damage will be done.

I just came across copies (posted on YahooGroups)from Ford concerning this question which has confused owners and mechanics for years. ALL villager/quest VG30E engines from 1993-2002 are free-wheeling or non-interference. This was done at the request of Ford because of the warranty expense experienced on the Escort with a timing belt and interference engine. However, the same engine (for some reason) used in the Maxima and Altima are interference engines.

Why does my car shakes at high speed?

because when your driving, air goes up under the car. And since a car has a frame, air hits it really hard causing it to shake. example, planes offend have turbulence. its because air is going under the wings the wrong way and making it lose balance and shake. Same thing as the car except its not a plane.

What does a speed sensor do on a 1994 mercury villager?

The vehicle's speed sensor, which is mounted on the output shaft of the transmission (some later models with mechanical speedometers have the speed sensor mounted behind the speedometer) sends electrical pulses to the computer, pulses which are generated through a magnet that spin a sensor coil. When the vehicle's speed increases, the frequency of the pulses also increases. Note that for any given speed of the vehicle, there is a corresponding pulse frequency. It is this pulse frequency which the cruise control tries to maintain as a constant. Speed sensors are usually made up of a toothed metal disk mounted on a rotating shaft and a stationary detector covering a magnetic coil.If the vehicle speed sensor fails, the cruise control system will not get a speed signal. If this is the case, most probably, the speedometer will usually stop working as well.

How do you find GVW of your vehicle?

How do you slide back seat of a 1997 mercury villager?

If your seat is in a track...there are three levers on the rear seat you need to be familar with. On the side of the seat closest to the slider on the passenger side of vehicle there is a loop type lever you pull to adjust the back of the seat. Under the bench of the seat is two more levers, these are what aide in moving the seat. There is on lever closer to the center of the bench than the other, it's rectangle shape. Pull this lever and the bench portion of the seat should want to fold up to the back of the seat. Next you pull the other lever that looks kinda like a finger, this allows you to move the whole seat along the track. Make sure you pull up you carpet mats before trying to move the seat. If you plan to move larger items and you only have two passengers...I suggest removing the two bucket seats in the middle row, then the back seat will fold up and move to the back of the front seats.

Picture of 1999 Mercury Villager engine with firing order?

Don't know where except in a repair manual. However, this can be easily figured out. There are two banks of cylinders ; left and right or front and rear if you prefer. The rear bank is odd numbered cyliders and the front bank is even numbered cylinders. Number one cylinder is on the rear bank far left followed by #3 in the center and #5 to the far right. The front bank has #2 cylinder on the far left followed by #4 in the center and #6 to the far right. The distributor rotates counterclockwise. #1 should be close to the two o'clock position. Firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6
