Will a belly bar set off a metal detector?

no it wont it is too small for the metal detector to pick up . I've gone through many of them with my belly bar

Can a metal detector find a buried mobile phone?

All metal detectors detect all metal depending on the level of sensitivity they are set at. Battery or no, a cell phone would be detected.

Do metal detectors give off radiation?

Yes and No. Typical Metal detectors DO NOT give off radiation, but the next generation metal detectors DO. You won't be able to tell which one you are walking through, except for the general rule of thumb that the older looking machines will cause no harm while the other, newer looking machines might.

Will a metal detector pick up White Gold?

Mention the words metal detector and you'll get completely different reactions from different people. For instance, some people think of combing a beach in search of coins or buried treasure. Other people think of airport security, or the handheld scanners at a concert or sporting event.

The fact is that all of these scenarios are valid. Metal-detector technology is a huge part of our lives, with a range of uses that spans from leisure to work to safety. The metal detectors in airports, office buildings, schools, government agencies and prisons help ensure that no one is bringing a weapon onto the premises. Consumer-oriented metal detectors provide millions of people around the world with an opportunity to discover hidden treasures (along with lots of junk). In this article, you'll learn about metal detectors and the various technologies they use. Our focus will be on consumer metal detectors, but most of the information also applies to mounted detection systems, like the ones used in airports, as well as handheld security scanners.

Can metal detectors detect money?

Basically No. But the detector have a camera then yes.

Do pencil sharpener blades pick up on metal detectors?

Lead is a metal but pencils do not contain lead. The gray material in pencils is graphite which is a form of carbon. In most pencils a metal ring binds the eraser to the wooden shaft. That could be detected but the graphite would not. A mechanical pencil made of metal or having some metal parts could be detected but not because of the graphite contained therein.

What metals can not be detected by a metal detector?

Technically speaking it can detect through anything, however the depth at which it can detect will be effected by various factors such as density, moisture and more importantly base metals present in the sand and soil layer.

One of the biggest factors is metal density and variety in the soil layer. An area rich in a variety of metals will require a detector with excellent discrimination in order to decipher specific target metals or there will be too much background metal to find a specific object.

Basically it comes down the quality of the detector, the depth it can penetrate and the level of discrimination that it can be set to that will allow it to pick out specific metal combinations. A poor quality detector will get confused and go off constantly if there is a high volume of metals in the soil composition and if it lacks the ability to tune out the "background" noise of those metals.

Does a metal detector detect silver?

If you are talking about metal detector that you buy as a hobby for finding things then yes of course it will. But security metal detectors are adjusted so they aren't usually set off by something like earrings or a ring if that is what you mean. Though if you have a lump of silver in your pocket I imagine you would set off any metal detector.

There are many instances of metal detectors detecting silver. Some of the largest treasure finds in the UK were hordes of silver coins found by people using metal detectors.

Where are you permitted to use a metal detector?

Parks are public venues supported by public tax revenue, that being the case there likely no laws forbidding the use of metal detectors of the type used to search for lost coins and such. The best option would be to contact the parks department and ask what the specific rules are for the park(s) in which you wish to use the device.

Do metal detectors work?

The metal detector is device to spot hidden metal. It works on Th principle of disturbance in magnetic filed. The detector has magnetic coil through which an alternating current is passed producing magnetic field. When the hidden metal comes within the range of this field then the eddy current is produced in this metal creating its own magnetic field which is detected by metal detector.

What is the use of hand held metal detector?

Some people use them at the beach to find loose change or anything else metal that someone may have lost.

Information about compass Yukon 94b metal detector?

The Compass model 94B was a good no-frills detector sold newthrough out the 1970's and early 80's. It utilized a 10 turn tuning system with iron tuning in one direction and non-iron in the opposite direction. Because of this separation of metals in the circuitry, one could hunt for coins (non-ferrous metals) without much distraction from nails (ferrous) and other iron objects. The electronics were such that good coin and/or gold targets gave out sharp signals in most cases. The electronics were sensitive to dust and moisture that greatly reduced the units' ability to process signals efficiently. Keeping the detector clean and free from dirt is essential. Still a fine coin shooter and jewelry finder in top condition. Used ones in as-new condition still bring close to the original new price of around $135.00

When was the inventor of the metal detector born?

the metal detector was invented because people in old days use to use it so they could find stuff in there body I think

How do you defeat a metal detector?

have it made out of ivory but they are friggen expensive

How deep can metal detectors detect?

Depends on the size of the metal detectors, and the size of the metal under the surface of the earth. The bigger the metal detector, the bigger the piece of metal, the deeper down it will detect.

Can the gold get detected by a hand metal detector?

i hope so. Because i lost my iPhone 4 in a snow that's up to my knees and I'm going to try using a metal detector to locate it.

Can copper be found with a metal detector?

Yes a metal detector can see all minerals found in the soil and can control the type of article that we want to look like gold and silver so as not to give the alert detector on these minerals

Whats the best metal for a sword?

When you are looking to buy a sword the best thing you want to do at first is think what you want to use it for. The reason you want to do that is so that you don't buy the wrong type of sword for what you really want. Believe me, I made that mistake and broke my first sword. So to make sure you don't make the same mistake I did, I am going to give you some advice.

First off I will tell you what each metal is for:

STAINLESS STEEL: Basically, the only reason you ever want to buy a stainless steel sword is either if you want it to break in half and cut you really bad, or if you are smart and know that it is ONLY for display and to look pretty for decoration.

CARBON STEEL: This metal is good for a nice edge that will stay on your sword and is what most would call, "a functional sword" and in fact, it is functional so if you are on a budget it is definitely the way to go.

FLEXIBLE STEEL: This metal is extremely good quality and will hold out a long time and even keep an edge fairly long. The only problem, IT IS EXPENSIVE! If you really want to go all out this is really the way to go because it is very flexible henceforth flexible steel.

I hope I made your choice easier and good luck! Buying a sword can be a hard choice so try to get more references also! If you are looking for swords try all around to find the sword you want also think about the kind of sword you want before you buy it! For instance, I prefer Japanese style katanas. Good luck! =)

I don't know if it is the best for making swords, but in a sword like a katana, I usually hear of Tamahagane being used. I was actually looking at other questions, like the strongest metal for a sword, and people say Tungsten since it's the strongest metal known, from what I've been reading, might be lies though.
