The verb goes at the end, but one would need to know more about what you want to say to conjugate the verb.

For example is the "you" one, two or more people? It becomes part of the verb not a separate word. Also, there are modes and aspects so, is this something that person does over and over, just this time? There are many ways to say it and it changes the verb. It is hard to exactly translate a colloquial phase like this.

You might say: t'aa doo nanihéhí --meaning "stop your playing"

or : t'áadoo nanitazí -- "stop squirming around"

or: Doo dieghání góó oołkił ńteeh -- "It's late, go sleep!"

or: t'áadoo hadahwíínół'áhí --"quit making a racket (you -3 or more)"

Did Navajo orignate from the US?

Yes. As far as any historical, archaeological and Navajo tribal oral history can tell the Navajo became a distinct people or according to traditional belief emerged from the previous world in the area of the La Plata mountains in today's Southern Colorado and the upper San Juan river basin in New Mexico about 1100 -1200 years ago. At that time they had absorbed cultural traits such as growing corn from the Anasazi/Ancestral Pueblo peoples so they must have been there for a while before that.

Before that it is unknown where and when exactly they came from. It is thought that perhaps they separated from other speakers of Athabaskan language families who are in northern Canada and Alaska about 1500 years before that. However there are also Athabaskan speakers in Northern California, Oregon and Washington. It is unclear what route they traveled to get to the southwest.

The Navajo creation stories, beside providing spiritual, philosophical, and symbolic meaning and providing an account of ever greater complexity and harmony punctuated by social conflict, also seems to give an account of traveling from one place to the next staying for a while and then moving on. Perhaps this is a story of their travels form the north.

Kootenai is a nickname! It is an English pronunciation of a Blackfoot name for the tribe. Their own name for themselves is: Ktunaxa. It is pronounced tu-na-ha with a barely heard "K" sound at the start. They live in 8 or so communities in Canada and the US.

The Long Walk was in 1864. 53 groups of Navajo people were forced to walk the 450 miles between August 1864 and the end of 1866. What is Navajo for peace bringer?

"Yeiyíʼaah hodéezyéél" is the closest I could come. It basically is "Gives Peace", but I have been unable to find any form of "giver" or "bringer". The language, while complex in spelling and pronunciation, is not as "in depth" as English or other modern languages where variety of words is concerned.

How do you join the Navajo tribe If one of my great grand parents was Navajo?

To join the Navajo tribe, you will need a Certificate of Blood (COB). To obtain a COB, you will need to know to which chapter of the Navajo reservation your great-grandparent belonged (chapters are districts in the Navajo reservation where your ancestor was born or may have lived).

After obtaining this information, you will need to apply through the agency in Window Rock, Arizona. You will need to provide your birth certificate and your parents' birth certificates. The agency will approve your application and send you your COB. However, you must be at least one-quarter Navajo qualify. If one of your great-grandparents was Navajo, that would make your grandparent (their child) half Navajo, your parent one quarter Navajo, and you only one-eighth Navajo.

What were the materials of the code talkers?

I don't know what you mean by "materials". They carried the same personal equipment as other marines. The code itself was developed as something they were able to memorize so that there was no codebook or device to capture. It could not be understood by other Navajo speakers. It would just seem like a long string of words with no grammar. One Navajo man was captured and tortured but he could not understand it. They had to constantly practice to make sure they knew it correctly. For every letter substitution there were three options. For common military nouns there were Navajo code words. The only "materials" they had were the same ones as any marine radio operator at the time. There were two Navajo guys assigned to each radio so it wasn't two hard to carry everything.
