The best GBA RPG is definitely Pokemon. However, it is a matter of opinion of what you like best, but Pokemon has the best ratings and highest sales. Another one that might make the list is the Legend of Zelda games.

Catching Mew and other rare Pokemon

There is a very easy way to get mew right at the beginning. This is only one way(there are quite a few), but i prefer this one. Here we go:

1. Go to Cerulean City and USE THE POKE CENTER (IMPORTANT). Beat the five "Nugget Bridge" people and the rocket, then STOP AND DO NOT DEFEAT ANYONE ELSE.

2. Go left of the top of the bridge to the grass but do not get caught by the boy in the grass. FOR THIS CHEAT TO CONTINUE TO WORK YOU MUST NEVER BATTLE HIM.

3. Run around until you catch an Abra.

4. Save your game. It will be easy to restart the process from here in case you mess up.

5. Now, situate yourself so that you are above that special boy but he is offscreen. Step toward him and press pause immediately. Use Abra to teleport. If you did it right, the " ! " should appear above his head, but he will not fight you, because you will teleport away!

ONLY YOUR D-PAD WILL WORK AFTER THIS

6. Now go back across the bridge and fight a random person. YOU MUST LET THEM WALK TO YOU, IF YOU STEP IN FRONT OF THEM THE GAME WILL FREEZE. Beat them, then teleport back.

YOUR BUTTONS SHOULD NOW WORK AGAIN

7. Now head up the bridge again, and your pause menu will open or a message will appear for no reason. Press B to close it and you will encounter a Pokemon.

If you do this with the first hiker, you will get a Nidoqueen (boring). YOU WILL ENCOUNTER MEW AFTER YOU BEAT THE YOUNGSTER WITH A SLOWPOKE FURTHEST TO THE RIGHT, STANDING ABOVE HIS GIRLFRIEND. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LOTS OF POKEBALLS, BECAUSE MEW IS TOUGH TO CATCH.

ANOTHER PERSON WHO YOU CAN GET A MEW FROM FIGHTING IS THE FIRST SWIMMER IN THE GYM. JUST WALK BACK TO THE BRIDGE YOU CANT TELEPORT FROM INSIDE.

Every Pokemon encountered in this way is only lvl 7, but don't complain dude its a Mew.

No, you cannot play gameboy color games on the Nintendo DS. In order to play gameboy color games, the DS would have to have a special processor included, and it would need an infra-red port and link cable slot in order to play both gameboy and gameboy color games. This would make the machine bulkier, and need more hardware, and the cost would be higher. The creators at Nintendo decided it would be better to exclude gameboy and gameboy color games from the system.

One thing to think about though the Nintendo DSi has no gameboy games, unless they are talking gameboy pocket or something but DS and DS Lite do have a GBA slot, it just isn't able to play gb color. I tried but it was too big so just remember that.
