We had a female British serial killer has admitted murdering three men and dumping their bodies in ditches.

This guy was a piece of work. He would be just a regular peeping tom, looking in women's windows. He wouldn't turn shooter unless he was observed. Once a woman caught sight of him he would shoot her. The Peeper's real name was Rickey Brogsdale, his weapon of choice, a 22 c. rifle.

A lot of people has some kind of bi polar behavior. This doesn't turn then into serial killers who could be psychopaths who are suffering from chronic mental disorders with violent or abnormal social behaviors. Being bi polar doesn't make you dominant or have the urge of controlling persons thus becoming powerful figures in the wrong way. There is a more serious fact about serial killers and the fact is that it is virtually impossible to detect a serial killer. Many seem to be quiet normal in their everyday lives.

This theory really has it's fans. Nobody really knows since neither killer was ever caught and identified. There were some similarities and may be some evidence that a suspect the Ohio police were interested in might have come west. Most of it is speculation and can't be proved at this late date but everybody loves a mystery.

Authories think that the man put in prison for the Boston strangler crimes is not the real killer. Both, the Boston stragler and the man in prison for his crimes, had a sicological disorder.

Ted Bundy confessed to 30 murders but he did not back up his confection by leading the authorities to the locations of the corpses and he did not pinpoint the locations in Utah, Colorado and Washington where some corpses were found. There were only 5 kills and a kidnap proven to be his. The problem adding a number of deaths to a serial killer who did not back up his confession could mean another killer has to be apprehended. Why did Bundy could not tell were his other victims were disposed of or the place where authorities found some corpses even if that would add time for his life? He could not because he did not know the information.

On the other hand, we have Henry Lee Lucas. By the time he was apprehended, it took 2 years and a half to finish his confection and 5 more years to lead the authorities to the grave sites of over the United states. When the 175Th corpse found unearthed, the authorities were sure they have an experience killer and it took another 8 years to place the found corpses found which matched those he claimed.

That is a confession properly backed up and a single person could prove it was a dubious confection. So now you a have a well experienced killer and not a novice one.

This is a serial killer that stopped after three murders or commited other killings with another modus operandi. It comes to mind that this serial killer died sudently. He was never arrested.

You can start talking what a serial killer is. If I were you, I would put the serial killers myths after that. For example a well known myth is that serial killers are from realy smart to genius. In reality, serial killers are of average intelligence. Clearly, they never really made use of their brains which explains why most have low level jobs and make poor decisions. In fact, it is exactly these poor decisions that get them in trouble on their jobs, in their relationships, and in their crimes.

Take a look at Ted Bundy. It is said how terribly smart he was; that this is why it took so long to catch him. Is this the same Ted who couldn't make it through law school.

Ted was finally caught, not by clever investigative work but because he was caught speeding. He was so bright that he lied to the police officer about seeing a movie the cop knew didnt exist and then he let the police officer look into his trunk and note his rather obvious rape kit. Ted was by no means brilliant and it was the solid work of a beat cop that got a killer off the streets.

The reason serial killers could take long in aprehending is the fact the victim is not know to him and most of the times there are no witness. Authorities could not connect serial killers like a woman killed by her husband.

A serial killer that had a brialliant mind with an high IQ is also known as Ted. The unabomber. He was brilliant in math a held a respective career as a teacher until he quit. He was not fired.

A myth that bothers a lot to me is that Serial Killers are caught though DNA banks, profiles, and brilliant police deduction. he majority of the time it is not brains that catches serial killers. Usually it is just dumb luck. Ted was speeding. One Alabama serial killer was doing just fine until he took a girl out to the woods to kill her. His car got stuck in the mud and he had to call a friend for a tow.

DNA banks only work if you have DNA. Then you have to match that DNA to someone. Either that someone must also be in a bank, like a felon DNA bank, or that person must already be a suspect and agree to the testing.

Other myths about serial killers is you can link a serial killer to crimes by his MO.

This is very wrong. Serial killers, mostly don't kill very often. Really, they don't. Some wait years in between crimes and so when they do cross that line again they may fix something that didnt work last time or didnt feel right last time or didnt give enough of a thrill last time. A serial killer may decide to change from stabbing to strangling because last time he cut himself and he got too much blood in the car. He may decide he wants more time with the victim so he moves from an outside location to an inside location. He may decide to tie up the victim this time because the last one was hard to handle and it really ticked him off.

Another myth is that serial killers are all dysfunctional loners. Serial murderers often have families and homes, are gainfully employed, and appear to be normal members of the community. Because many serial murderers can blend in so effortlessly, they are oftentimes overlooked by law enforcement and the public.

You can strees that Serial murder is neither a new phenomenon, nor is it uniquely American. Dating back to ancient times and work a little on that and in the fact that serial murder is a relatively rare event, estimated to comprise less than one percent of all murders committed in any given year.

You have to understand that much of the general public's knowledge concerning serial murder is a product of Hollywood productions. Story lines are created to heighten the interest of audiences, rather than to accurately portray serial murder. By focusing on the atrocities inflicted on victims by "deranged" offenders, the public is captivated by the criminals and their crimes. This only lends more confusion to the true dynamics of serial murder.

Although there are exceptions to every rule, it is generally believed that environment and genetics play a role in the making of a serial killer.

In her book, My Life Among the Serial Killers, Dr. Helen Morrison says that, "Fred [West] killed at least twelve over the course of two decades, from 1967 to 1987," (Harper Collins hardcover edition, p216). His submissive wife and partner-in-crime, Rosemary West, assisted him with a great deal of the torture, murder, and depraved sexual abuse inflicted upon his victims, including that of their own daughters.

Interestingly enough, while incarcerated, Rosemary West began a romantic relationship with Dave Glover...the bass player from Slade. As Dr. Morrison writes, "They even prepared to be married, and Rosemary proudly announced their strange bond in the British press. And then, suddenly within a week, the marriage was off. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that once Slade heard about the possible prison nuptials, Glover was unceremoniously fired from the band," (pp 226 - 227).

The only ones I could find was Henry Lee Lucas and Otis Toole, although neither of them were born there. Lucas, born on August 23-1936, in Blacksburg, VA, along with partner in crime Otis Toole, born in Jacksonville, FL confessed to over 200 murders but only a few could be proved. Lucas spent time in Montegue county Texas as an adulescent.

I remember when Lucas got nailed in 1989. He looked like a killer.

Lucas was convicted and sentenced in 1989..He was arrested and jailed in 1985.

Yes, he had 4 kids while in prison through conjugal visits.
