Oldsmobile Ciera

If the horn does not work on a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera, you can replace the horn. Almost any type of horn should be compatible.

Its usually located in the dash, right around the area of the ashtray. It is always hard to find, and is never in the same exact spot, just in the same general area.

Corner lamp must be removed first, just 3 torx screws and it comes off. Next, the grille has to be removed. More torx screws, about 7 IIRC. The headlight assy is held in with 4 hex bolts, remove those and pull the assembly out. Unplug the lamp connectors (be sure to note which are the high beam, and low beam lamps) and you can now install your replacement.

Its a 3300 3.3 3.1?? drivers side rear coner of engine (top of). Its an electronic EGR with 3 valves on it. REmove it and check the passageway below it as it carbons up and will give you an EGR failure code/symptom

Rough idle could bea lot of things. I will tell you the basic things that cause it. -Vacuum Leak -Not Enough or too much fuel or air caused by many things. Timing incorrect. -Bad sensor. Should be in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose

On the passenger side against the firewall. Its at the far left upper portion. It is black has a connector and a small hose going to it. Two screws hold it into place. The heads are bolt head and very small. about 6-7 mm head maybe 1/4.

Underneath your hood, behind the passenger side headlight, behind the core support, is a bank of 2-8 relays. One of those relays is the relay needed for your fuel pump. There will also be a fuel pump relay fuse located there.

Possible clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump.

If there is a wear ridge built up in the drum they may need to be pounded off. Try to release the self adjuster star wheel if you can also.

hope this helps..on this question, my problem was a loose wire on the flat plug that is attached to the battery cable. apparently the stereo installation people pulled this plug apart too roughly and loosened the connection. it later came apart inside the plug, causing my headlights, door locks, to not function.

Wait until the engine is cool before attempting to change the thermostat. Remove the radiator cap to release any built up pressure in the system. Follow the top radiator hose to where it connects with the engine block. Remove the hose from the elbow. Now remove the 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing. Once the bolts are removed, remove the elbow from the connector. This may take a little prying. Once this is removed, you'll see the thermostat. Notice that the thermostat has the spring pointing downward toward the motor. If the thermostat has a rubber seal, you can carefully remove it and put it onto the new thermostat, place it back into position. If the rubber seal is cracked or broken, put on a gasket and gasket sealer to avoid leaks. If there is no rubber seal, you will need to place the thermostat in position, and then put on a gasket and gasket sealer. Bolt the elbow back on (this does not have to be cranked to death, just make sure it's tight). Reconnect the radiator hose. Put the radiator cap back on. Start the car and drive it, keeping an eye on the temperature to make sure everything is Ok

Had the same problem with my 92 cutlass ciera. It turned out to be ac compressor. Probably the clutch.

Remove the old one and put the new one in. Extremely difficult job. -Long answer: Remove the door panel. Find the motor and drill out the rivets or get the old motor out by any means necessary. Unplug the motor

Bolt in your new window motor and plug it back it. Before you replace the door panel, turn your car back on and make sure that the window motor is working. If it works replace the door panel. If not check the fit of the motor and the wiring.

takes about 3 hours your first time if you have all the tools you need and know how to get the door panel off.

The cooling fan relay for the 88 Olds Cutlas Ciera is located directly in front of the driver in the engine compartment. It is hidden from sight by a plastic hood that is held in place by one sheet metal screw. The plastic cover is approx 7 inches wide, 3 to 4 inches tall, and would almost resemble a soup bowl cut in half. The cover is made of a black plastic material and is very thin. There are two relays under this cover and the one for the Cooling Fan is the one that has the single larger red wire in a multi connector and has two parallel brown/red wires in the same connector in a different pin location. The red wire is always hot (constant 12 volts) and when the relay energises, the brown/red pair should then have 12 volts on them to the fan. Hope this Helps!
