The power steering pump is held on by 2 bolts which are accessed through holes in the pulley. The bolts are on the top and bottom of the power steering pump. You will need to use and socket extension or deep socket. Go to napaonline.com and search for 1998 olds Intrugue then power steering pump to get a view of what it looks like (the picture shows the pump rotated on its side).

sounds like your processor is overheating and locking up to save itself from toasty death. then, when you try to restart it, it's still to hot to allow you to do it. check to see if your processor fan is dead.

Its in your manuel. Turn key to start wait ten mins and then turn off then turn on it should reset. if not take to dealer.

As long as they're not electronic parts, probably. Check a parts web site like AutoZone or Advance and compare the part numbers. If they match up, you're all set.

Had this problem with 3 of 4 rims on a 99 Intrigue. Tried several tire shops finally had to replace all four rims with after markets since the alloy was severely pitted/damaged in the bead.

If you get the PCM, engine wiring harness, and intake manifold from the Regal also..

Most door panels are held on by small spring clips or ribbed pegs inserted into holes in the door. You can use a small screwdriver or small prybar and insert it under the panel and slide it until you feel one of the pins. Gently pry outward until the clip pops out of the hole. To replace it just line up the clips with the holes and hit gently with the heel of your hand.

usually depends on your style of driving coming frum a technicians point of view. The plugs are platinum tipped and spossed to be good for 100,000 miles, But i would replace them at 60 to 70,000 , also servicing things like the pcv valve and fuel filter and things like that.

Remove the body brace over it. 1 bolt in the back, 2 in the front. Remove the battery mount. One bolt on the front of the battery (kind of faces the engine). Disconnect the battery lift out, replace. Reverse disassembly. Rich

The check engine light will stay on as long as it is reading a fault code in the diagnostics of your car's computer UNLESS you have a short but that is unlikely. Have you determined what the leak is under your car? The check engine light is normally set when the normal operating functions of your car are interrupted like the engine is not getting enough fuel to the injectors, maybe caused by a weak fuel pump. The check engine light means something is amiss. You can go to some places like Autozone and they may read your diagnostics (download your codes) stored in your car's memory and the codes will tell you what is wrong...........btu nto necessarily what part is at fault. That is why auto techs are paid what they are. You have to be able to diagnose the problem using circuit testers and voltage readings and pressure gauges to try to isolate the mechanical fault. It's not liek old days where you just swapped out parts until you find the one causing the problem. The parts are too expensive now to play hit or miss. Go have someone download your codes and if they have the right handheld scanner they can turn the check engine light off once they clear the codes. Some car will turn off the check engine light themselves if your car goes enough miles or goes through enough starting and stopping cycles to let the computer know everythign is working okay. A weak fuel pump will do this like when it is cold in the morning and the fuel is dense, the fuel pump will pump fuel okay but when the weather and temps get hot the fuel pump has to work harder to meet demand and if it can't, it will set the check engine light. You drive the vehicle on cool or cold days the check engine light will go out because the computer thinks you fixed the problem...............until the fuel pressure drops someday and the check engine light comes back on. Try to identify the leak you have and get the codes read and see if the 2 are connected. If not, then you will need to fix the leak and then track down the problem which could be as simple as a loose gas cap or somethign major like a part of your computer going out.

I'd suspect a fuse has blown, but I doubt that these are all on the same circuit. Perhaps a couple fuses, or could be low battery voltage if you have an old battery. The key fob only sends a signal to a receiver in the car to operate the door locks and trunk lid solenoids, so the same loss of power to these circuits will halt the key fob operation, probably nothing wrong with your key fob. My 99 Intrigue does not have a gas door button on the key fob. It's possible that those circuits are all one fuse. Or, there is a pinched or broken wire in the harness going to the trunk or another door. Once, I had an intermittent non-working passenger power window. It turned out to be a cut wire in the bundle of my driver door. Someone forgot the wire-protecting grommet on the hole in the door for the wire bundle, and that particular wire got cut simply by the action of opening and closing the driver door. This wire was from the master control switch in the driver door. After many hours of troubleshooting, I found the problem by accidentally rolling up the wrong window while my driver door was opening! Talk about a stroke of luck!....Hope this helps...BB

Try replacing the plugs and wires

The heater coil is leaking. Water from the cooling system runs through the heater coil to heat the passenger compartment. Antifreeze is corrosive, some heater coils are thin.

My air pump went in my 2002 olds intrigue at around 40,000 Klm and was not covered. So I looked into it and found out that it was not necessary to replace. Infact a GM mechanic told me that it was not needed at all on the v6 3.5 because it already runs very clean. Anyway long story short, I now have 330,000 Klm and no probs. I turn off the engine light from time to time and check for new engine fault codes with my OBDII reader. p.s. never failed an emissions test either.

I am having the same problem. Brought it to an AC specialist and they told me it was my heating/AC panel switch that was going bad. The clutch would not stay engaged because the AC on/off switch was bad.

on the lower left side of the engine. left and right are determined by sitting in the drivers seat looking forward,, not looking down at the engine.

There really is no answer to this. A car, if taken care of, and serviced according to the owner's manual, will last a very long time. I have seen Oldsmobile Intrigues with over 175,000 miles on them that still ran great. And then again I have seen them with 75,000 miles that were worn out. All depends on how they are treated and serviced. Of course there is that rare car that simply is a lemon, and is nothing but trouble from day one. With older cars it simply gets to the point of if the car is worth repairing. Only the owner can make that determination.
