Very simple, actually I just did it, the ODBII port is directly under the steering wheel where the carpet and trim meet.

I have a 1998 olds Intrigue and mine started doing that it was the crank shaft position sensor

It's behind the drivers side headlight.

Remove the right/drivers side headlamp. There are two white clips holding the headlight assembly in. Once removed you need to unplug the headlamp connectors. Now the headlight is out of the way.

For ease it's a good idea to start the car and turn the wheel all the way to the left and then turn the car off. This will allow you to get to the 4 screws and one 6 MM bolt that hold the front part of the plastic cover/shroud under the fender. Remove two screws directly underneath the bumper outter edge and the two ascending from the front going up. The 6mm bolt is in the inner portion of the fender shroud. Now you can pull the plastic cover out a little ways to have full access to the air injection pump.

It can be removed by unbolting the 3 10mm bolts and then removing the lower hose facing the front of the car as it has no clamp on it.

The connector was a little hard for me to figure out. I removed the light gray insert first as it looked like it was a lock of some sorts. Once that was removed I was able to press the connector to remove the clamp and pull the electrial connector off.

The pump should be almost free. The other clamp with the hose I was able to pull off with the clamp still on it. You need a special tool as it is one of those crimped clamps. I was able to force it back on upon installation. It is probably a good idea to remove the clamp and get a regular hose clamp for what it's worth.

I tried taking the pump apart and clean it to get it to come to life. I think once it's dead it's dead. The design doesn't seem right to be made in two separate pieces. I'm not sure of the logic of this but it would appear to be a better idea to have a completely sealed unit as dirt and water abound in the pump.

THE STARTER FOR THE 2000 INTRIGUE IS LOCATED ON THE FRONT BANK OF THE MOTOR. LAY DOWN IN FRONT OF THE CAR AND LOOK TOWARDS THE FRONT BANK AND YOU'LL SEE IT. The starter on 3.5L engines is on the backside of the engine block slightly towards the drivers side. I just changed the starter on my 2000, 3.5L, V6, Oldsmobile Intrigue. I think both answers 1 & 2 are trying to say the same thing. I was confused by their use of "Front Bank" and "Backside" of the engine. Follow Answer 1: lay down (on your back) in front of the car, start wiggling under the car, go under the radiator, a few inches later you should go under the starter (slightly on the drivers side as stated in Answer 2), if you kept going you would go under the engine. Bottom line, it is on the side of the engine that is closest to the radiator, not the side closest to the interior of the car. The starter is held on with 2 bolts. I needed a 12 inch socket extender to get to them (actually two 6 extenders together). All in all not a bad job.

Behind the back side of the engine on the passenger side, about a foot down from the top. It's not easy to get to.

Yes this can cause the engine to shut off. This the main input to the engine ecu.

The correct answer to your question is the coolant sensor is mounted on the radiator, behind the battery. If you have a temperature guage you can simply up plug the sensor connection.

You would need a different sized belt, and I doubt there would be the proper clearance if you have AC but decide not to use it. I don't believe the Intrigues came without AC, as all trim classes (GL, GX, GXL) have AC as standard. Even if you have the AC compressor hooked up, it doesn't engage unless you turn it on. AC is needed for defrost/defogging also.

I haven't tried it yet and don't have a repair manual for this car, but it looks like the steps will be Get replacement part from store (about $200 from auto parts or less online or about $400+ from dealer) disconnect the battery since need to avoid accidental connection / short circuit starter is on front end of engine, close to the radiator fan and under the exhaust manifold, (and toward the driver side from the oil dipstick) but hard to see from the top, so will need extra room underneath to mess with it remove the bolt or two that hold the plastic cover that covers the bolts that hold the starter in place (looks like the plastic is probably a splash guard) that should allow access to both the bolts holding the starter in place (doesn't look like the wires to the starter can be reached easily yet, so...) remove the two bolds holding the starter in place - (the bolts don't look like they are corroded, so should be able to remove them without much problem) and should then be able to lower the old starter and solenoid combination enough to disconnect the wires (if the battery wasn't disconnected already, the disconnected wire would likely cause a very bad short circuit at this point, so there is important reason for disconnecting battery first) It looks like the starter and solenoid should fit through the space to be able to lower it out without taking other stuff off, but will have to try it to be sure... reverse steps to put replacement starter in...if there were any shims used for the old starter, put them back where they came from. Hopefully won't have to make adjustments to get spacing or alignment right Some stores return a deposit that was charged for return of the core, so don't forget to do that Of course, it sounds simple, but you could encounter difficulties, so if any other important steps are needed, please add what would help good luck

Kind of, there's no actual transmission fluid, however another fluid, normally Gearbox oil sometimes has to be added.

To change the water pump simply remove the bolts from the waterpump, pull it off and replace with new. The power steering pump will need to be loosened and moved aside to remove one bolt. Clean old gasket from engine block and replace with new gasket and replace with new waterpump.

Water pan is not something that I am familiar with, but if you are getting water on the floor on the passenger side then your heater core may be leaking, the drain tube for the ac is blocked ( it sticks out through the firewall on the passenger side and can be cleaned out with a coat hanger or compressed air).

Heating element may be shorted out--Repalcement available @ Wal-Mart or auto parts Check that the aux plug isn't shorting out. I had this problem when I purchased my Intrigue, and found that the Aux plug had been unscrewed, and the power wire was shorting to ground. Also, make sure that the fuse is the proper size. Depending on what your plugging into the electrical system, you may have too small a fuse to handle the current.

Hello, The Fuel Pump Relay on a Olds Intrigue 3.5 is located in the engine compartment on the passenger side. The relay is under a black plastic cover that has a star shaped plastic screw that has to be unscrewed by hand. This cover also has a Red plastic terminal cover at the top. If you look in your owners manual,Section 6 on a 1999 manual. It will show which one is the fuel pump relay. There are several fuses and relays under this cover.It is smaller than most the relays under this cover. The fuel pump relay is a rectanguler black plastic 5 pin relay about 10 to 11 dollars.

It resets the 'Oil Life Monitor'. After changing the oil, hold it down for a few seconds until something beeps or flashes on the dash.

The 1997 Ford Explorer fuel gauge can be stuck on fault because the fuel float is malfunctioning in the fuel tank. The fuel gauge fuse might be blown.

had a similar problem with dodge caravan, tried all sorts of thing like changing heater core, thermostat ,heater control valve and pulling radiator and flushing entire system turns out the the fins on the water pump were worn down and wouldn't pump the coolant didn't think it could have been pump as it was replaced not even a year ago hope this helps good luck

Ok people listen up! I am a mechanic with 35 years of expirience so i know what im talking about. Dont replace your cv joints, axles brakes ect. It is a waste of money. The noise is inside the transmission & can only be fixed by disassembling the transmission. I cant believe someone hasnt posted this already!

2002 was the last model year that Oldsmobile Intrigues were produced. The Intrigue was the first Oldsmobile to end production in the process of phasing out the Oldsmobile brand. The last Intrigue rolled off the factory floor in June of 2002.

where the top radiator hose meets the engine there is a small housing, the thermostats inside. The brass screw on top of this housing is where you bleed the air from the cooling system after replacing it and refilling the system. Be sure not to overtighten it after you screw it back together or you can snap the top off of it (brass is soft)

If it has a 3800 Series II motor, the capacity is 4.6 US Quarts. If it has the 3.5 'Shortstar' motor, then it will usually take 6.0 quarts (Including a filter change in both cases)
