If a manual came with your car in the glove box it should tell you if it is a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder. If a 4 cylinder, you have 4 plugs, if 6 you have 6. You could also look at the Vehicle Id number on you registration or look through the windshield on drivers side corner and the number is on a mounted plate. Take the numbers down and go to any Autozone and they'll tell you what have 4 or 6. Hope this helps.

Autozone and some other parts stores (O'Reilly's, AutoSource, etc) have the ODB II diagnostic reader that can reset the codes. You should read the code(s) that have been set before earasing to see what has happened. Autozone will give you a printout of the codes with explanation. There is no trick with a keyswitch I have found. You can remove the positive battery terminal for 5 minutes and discharge it by touching the removed positive terminal to ground. (Do NOT SHORT the battery!) This usually resets the OBD II, but if there's a problem, the same code will light the light again.

*In most cases*, this is caused by a sticking Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid, also called a TCC solenoid.

Red light means 3 gallons or less. You should be able to go at least 45-60 miles. I'm being conservative here. I'm also assuming the car is operating normally.

Behind the firewall, near the center of the engine compartment.

carefully remove the speaker cover from the rear deck. then the speakers are exposed, remove yhe four screws that hold the speaker mounted, then unplug the wire clip and remove old speaker. then cut off plug, strip wire casing exposing bare wire. twist exposed wires from existing wire and the new speaker wire tape them up real good make sure no wire is exposed. plug the female ends on new speakers place speaker in back deck replace the four screwsand place cover back on and do the same thing to opposite side.

The Alero should be a 5x115 bolt pattern.

Replace the circuit board for the wiper motor or pull the circuit board out and solder the loose connections. Our 1995 Silverado had a recall on it for this same problem, took it to the local dealer where they were happy to fix it for free as it was recalled for that. Ask at your local Chevy dealership, they might do same for you.

The oil pan must be removed. From there, you can see how the oil pump and sump screen are mounted. Hope this helps you at least get things rolling.

The same one that controls every other marker and running light. If your license plate light is malfunctioning, the fuse is not the problem. Not to mention a fuse doesn't actually control anything - it just provides protection to that circuit in the event it gets overloaded, but that notwithstanding, your problem isn't a fuse.

I believe it is located under the air filter in the air filter box on the drivers side of the engine compatment.

Under the big cover, there is a plastic plenum (aka upper intake manifold). In the end of this is a spring loaded device which contains the PCV valve. If you replace the PCV, take care to reuse the o-ring and spring which are present. If you miss either one of these, you won't like the loud noise created by your engine. :)

Front.

The plasic end at the end of the cable track has been broken off. The only fix is to replace the regulator assembly.

above the starter motor in the side of the block.

You have to take the starter off to get at it.

drop the two 15mm bolts and back the starter out.

look up and the crank sensor is just above it.

it takes a 10 mm socket to get the bolt out.

wipe some oil around the seal on the new one before you put it in.

It will go in a lot easier that way, you can push it in with a little presure from a flat bar.

You shold drain out excess oil. Too much oil can strain seals & cause leaks. 1/2 a qt or so is not too bad but too much can give you grief

My 98 has two small plastic tabs, if your sitting in the seat it would be between your legs at shin level (donut sit in the seat when your removing it). You can do it one at a time or have someone on the other side to pull the other one. On driver side use your right hand to press down on the front of the cushion, left hand pull tab hard and hold, right hand lift cushion. Use opposite hands for passenger side. Once both sides are released its as easy as pulling the cushion up (may need to push seat buckles through cushion).

If it is not releasing you can also pull up the back of the cushion, kind of have to work it out of the back rest and work out the buckles enough to get your arm in. Feel for the lock and press on the plastic lock with finger (right hand for drivers side) or screw driver. Make sure to press down on the front with your free hand. its a metal U shaped hook from the seat and plastic lock, be careful not to jam too hard or you may break the lock mechanism, just press it forward until you can lift the seat.

Looking at the engine from the front of the car, it is the one that is on the right hand side of the front head. The firing order will tell you each cylinder number standing in front of the vehicle. the rear 3 are numbered 1,3,5 odd numbers the front ones are 2,4,6 even numbers dentdr.
