Here are the basics. There are many problems you may run up against (frozen bolts, stubborn or cracked hoses, rusted clamps, etc)that may need to be fixed or replaced before proceeding: SHut off engine, allow to cool completely. Disconnect the cooling fan, remove negative battery terminal connection. Drain radiator by opening draincock and/or removing lower radiator hose, collecting coolant in a drain pan. Do not let it go onto the ground - bad for environment! Open top radiator hose to allow remainder of coolant to flow out. A few quarts of coolant will remain in the engine block. You will want to totally flush and refill AFTER replacing the radiator to get all the crud out of the system. Unbolt radiator and disconnect any other items still attached (transmission cooler, temp sensor wires, etc.). Remove radiator and replace with new, reattaching all items removed from old radiator. Inspect other items and possibly replace suspects. Reattach hoses and make sure the clamps are tightened without pinching hoses excessively. Do a flush job with water/radiator flush, making sure the water runs clear out the draincock. Instructions for flushing the cooling system are usually printed on the radiator flush bottle. Be sure the heater is on and the engine warms up completely to open the thermostat. SHut off engine and drain as much water as will leave. Fill with 50% coolant mix (Dexcool or equivalent). Estimate water remaining in the engine and add 100% coolant to balance. COmplete fill with 50% mix. Remove air by running engine until warmed with the radiator cap off, adding coolant mix along the way. IF the fluid rises quickly it may indicate a bad head gasket.

PS Fluid reservoir is on the passengers' side, just in front and below the alternator towards the firewall . It is difficult to find without a flashlight since it's a black screw on cap. You will have to reach just below and in front of the the alternator to get to it. You will also need a funnel with a long tube (transmission funnel will work) to reach it without making a mess.

Under the air filter housing

Left side just past the battery has a red lock clip on the top. Squize the clip together and pull forward. then there is a twist lock on the front turn to the left and pull the cover off.

You need a special tool to get the window crank off then take out all of the screws you can find {In each corner etc}. Then you need a "J" shaped tool with a "V" in the end to pull out the nylon retainers that are all around the outside of the trim pannel. They hang in there pretty good so you need a good puller to get them out. Both tools are available at good parts stores and you may want to rent them but they aren't very expensive.

If you are talking about the low coolant light then it is just low of coolant. Add coolant to the recovery tank. If you are talking about the coolant temperature light, then the engine is overheating. You may need to have the cooling system serviced. Drain the coolant and flush the system. Install a new thermostat, and add a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water.

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue 3.5 liter, I will like to know were the Timing chain marks.

This might actually be as easy as using the interior light dimmer switch. On the left side of the steering wheel on the dashboard to the lower left side of the instrument panel are three switches, one of them looks like a half a wheel sticking out at you...this is a rotary switch that turns on/off the interior lights and also dims or brightens the instrument panel and enviromental control panels. How do i know this...i couldn't figure out why mine was off...until I tried to turn on the interior lights and realized that switch was in the off position and hence all the panel lights were also off...told you it was simple. if this isn't the problem..i would check fuses first, then wiring,moving from the obvious to the more difficult possible solutions.

it all depends. i just did the front hub ass. on my 98 & the cost for parts only was $137.00 taxes in. go to a garage and you could prob add 2 hrs labor on top of that

It screws into the exhaust near the manifold. I haven't had to change mine on my intrigue, but if it's like others I've had to change, you get to it under the car behind the engine. Follow the exhaust from the catalytic converter up to the manifold, it should be the only sensor with a wire coming out of it that is screwed into the exhaust pipe. Unplug it from the wire harness, then unscrew it using a flat wrench. Have a new one ready to install, you can't run the car without it. Hope this helps.

Since each manufacturer has slightly different cruise control systems, specific troubleshooting procedures will vary. Most vehicle shop manuals have a multi-page diagnostic flow chart that the dealer mechanics use to solve failures. If there isn't an obvious problem like a broken wire, a blown fuse or a leaking vacuum line then the problem most likely lies in the brains of the unit or in the switch that sets the speed and contains the other functions of resume and accelerate. But since each system has the same basic parts, different systems will share the same basic problems. As always, you should consult the repair manual for you particular vehicle before trying to troubleshoot your cruise control system. If the vehicle speed sensor fails, the cruise control module will not get a speed signal. If this is the case the speedometer will usually stop working as well. The cruise control module can go bad and either not understand the signal coming in from the vehicle speed sensor or is unable to send the signal to the actuator. In addition blown fuses or broken wires can prevent the cruise control module from working properly as well. The vacuum diaphragm inside the actuator can develop a leak and prevent it from operating properly. If it is a large vacuum leak the actuator will probably not set at all. Leaking or broken vacuum lines are usually the major cause of this problem. Lastly, the linkage itself may break or become disconnected. Some cruise control systems use a bead type chain, like the pull chain on an old light socket, and they just plain break.

The fan is electronically controlled, and may not run all the time. If it indeed NEVER turns on, check the fuse (under the hood) and test the motor iteslf (they can burn out). Be careful to wait till the car completely cools off before sticking your hands on the fan, as it can start at any time. I suggest disconnecting the negative battery terminal before proceeding with fan work.

Around 95-110 , it has a shut off switch

In order to recharge the air conditioning yourself, you would need an air conditioning recharge kit.

if you already have one of those, you need to locate the recharge port, which is located in the back of the engine.

just twist the cap off of the port, and hook the recharge kit up to it, and follow the instructions on the kit if you already have one.

if you do not know what you're doing when recharging the A/C system, you could damage the air conditioning system by either over charging it or not charging it correctly, and always make sure you have the correct refrigerant for your air conditioning, pumping the wrong coolant into the system can and will also damage the a/c system.

The 2001 General Motors (Oldsmobile Division) Intrigue came equipped with the 3.5L engine and 4-speed automatic transmission FWD. One method of purging air from the cooling system after repairs and flushing it involves refilling it, and running the motor and heater, and leaving the radiator pressure cap off to 'burp' off the air trapped inside.

you need a funnel. stick the funnel into the hole where the trans. dipstick goes in. insert new fluid .

The book says remove the exaust cross over tube but two 19mm or 3/4 open end wrenches and patients will get the sensor replced. located below the motor mount and thermostat housing above the transmission.

it is on the wiper motor unplug wires unscrew cover and it pops out gos back in just the same

I just replaced mine. A real pain because its hard to get to. its on the drivers side toward the back and down low. Look back toward the wind sheild, back side of the engine and down low. you will see the 2 wire plug. Hope that helps.

on the front of the oil pan the dumbest place i think

take car to autozone have them to read codes they should be able to point you in the right direction

In the upper corner of the radiator on the passenger's side there is a bleed screw. Remove it and fill the coolant overflow tank until it comes out here - it helps if you jack up the vehicle on the passenger's side. Then close the screw until it is almost tight.

Start the car, and crack open the screw until it stops spitting out the vent on the side facing toward the headlight. (Get a rag or something to deflect the coolant down and away from the headlight.)

Once the bubbles are out, snug the screw down. Run the engine until the cooling fans cycle - if they don't, that could be your overheating problem.

It takes several cycles of running the engine until the cooling fans come on, then shutting it off until cold, for the coolant level to stabilize in the coolant overflow tank.
