Why is an extra day added to February every four years-?
Earth takes about 365 and one quarter days to circle the sun once (one year). If we only had 365 days on the calendar, eventually the calendar would be WAY off from the seasons. By adding the extra day every four years, it keeps the calendar in step with the earth's orbit, and thus with the seasons.

How can you help the Orangutan?
By stopping the destruction of their habitat and protecting them from poachers and by not buying items that involve orangutans or orangutan's homes.
There is so much more to it than this.
The major reason for destruction of their habitat (which just happens to be the rain forests of Sumatra and Borneo so important to preserve for the whole planet) is the cheap production of palm oil.
The UK is a major user of this product because it is a cheap fat. Yes, it is a fat and not a pleasant one either. It is often disguised in ingredient lists as "vegetable oil" but is is semi-solid at room temperature and it is a saturated fat that will clog human arteries and cause heart disease.
Why is it used? Because it is cheap. No other reason. It is also being used in the production of Bio-Fuels that purport to be green but are from it.
Check the ingredient lists on your purchases and refuse to buy products containing palm oil or vegetable oil (you'll miss out on a lot of biscuits and pastries but that's a good thing!).
Don't buy Bio-Diesel or Bio-Fuel thinking that you are helping - you are not. Visit the Greenpeace website and join!!!
