How do you replace the oxygen sensor in a 1999 Toyota Camry le v6 3 liter Do you need to replace both the upstream and downstream sensors?

First the answer to your second question. "Generally" the stated life of the O2 sensor is 100K. When one goes bad, the 'check engine light' should come on and the diagnostics from that should tell you which one is bad. If your vehicle has at least 100K, then you get into the "might as well as" area-if one is bad, could the others be far behind?

Replacement on your vehicle does not normally require the special socket for O2 sendors.

The number one upstream sensor is located between the motor and firewall, the number two upstream sensor is located between the motor and radiator, and the downsteam is located under the car. Replacing number one upstream and the downsteam sensor both require jacking up the vehicle to work from underneath. Replacement of the number 2 upstream sendor can be done with just the hood up.

First, unplug the sensor from the wiring harness.

Second, remove with a 22mm boxed or open end wrench.

Third, compare your purchase with the sensor that has been removed.

Replacement is the opposite of removal, install with 22 mm wrench and plug in.

You may have to disconnect the battery to clear the check engine dash lite and code.

How do you replace the oxygen sensor on a ford expedition?

Oxygen Sensor There are actually (4) O2 sensors on your truck. If you look inside the wheel wells behind the fender liner, right about where the frame is one O2 sensor, the other is underneath the truck about half way back in relation to the transmission. If you see where the exhaust joints together, you went about 6" too far.

When you start looking at the O2 sensors, they are normally numbered something like "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Bank 1 is on the passenger side; Bank 2 is on the driver's side. Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor (near the frame, between the block and the cat) and Sensor 2 is near the Y-pipe (downstream of the cat).

Normally it is the upstream sensors (sensor 1) that go first. They see the harshest conditions. You will need; Oxygen Sensor Socket Anti-Seized Penetrating Oil Sometimes it will take 15 minutes or take a few hours it depends on your luck…

Your valve cover gasket is likely leaking, there are o-ring gasket around the spark plug holes that will cause oil to leak into the spark plug hole.

How do you bypass an o2 sensor?

Try an EFIE. You could Google search "EFIE". Should be some on the first page that comes up. ElectoronicFuelInjectionEnhancer (EFIE). Works good with those Hydroxy boosters everyone is talking about. So I've heard at least. Hope this helps.

How do you repair or replace sensors with fault codes p0105 p0130 p0150 p1445?

p0105 MAF sensor circuit

p0130 02 Circuit malfunction bank 1 Sensor 1

p0150 02 Circuit malfunction bank 2 sensor 1

p1445 not a generic code need vehicle info to gues

All these codes are faulty Circuit codes. So more likly a bad wire, fuse or computer than all the sensors.

Looking at the list I am going to make a guesses starting from most to least likely:

1stThere is a problem with a damaged or broken wiring harnes at the computer. Get a wiring diagram and prove the wiring is good on all the wires to all the sensors on the list

The ECM that runs all this stuff is bad.. Prove the sensors are not bad before replacing an expensive computer.

Next: All these sensors are faulty, crash or used parts or vandalized?

Is the Speed Sensor and the Speedo Head the same thing for a 95 Ford Taurus?

No. The speed sensor is located on the transmission, and is what drives the speedometer cable, which drives the speedo head. The speedo head is another name for the the speedometer, which is the display gauge that you see while sitting in the car.

Which o2 sensor do you replace for DTC too lean bank 1 and 2 - Taurus - Sable?

Question: if your child has a temperature, do you replace the thermometer that told you the temperature, or work to find out WHY the kid has a fever?

A DTC (diagnostic trouble code) reporting a *lean* condition is telling you there's more AIR in the fuel mix than the computer was expecting.

In other words, air is sneaking / leaking into the engine - for example, a vacuum leak or leaking intake valve seals (which is common on Windstars).

A little more research into the 171 and 174 codes specific to the Taurus/Sables will avoid unnecessary 02 sensor replacements...

Also highly unlikely that both sides would have a failed O2 sensor at the same time, just common sense....... many things can cause a lean condition , even a weak fuel pump or plugged fuel filter , MAF sensor, injector seals and on, and on.

How can you tell if a catalytic converter is bad?

The only real way is to take it to a garage and get them to check the exhaust emissions. This only takes about 5 minutes and my local garage didn't charge me for this when I did this.

If the emissions are NOT OK, then this could point to problems with the fuel injection system as well. If the emissions are fine, then so is everything else.
