What problems occur to a fetus who swallows amniotic fluid?

While in-utero the fetus does swallow the amniotic fluid and they breathe the amniotic fluid it is how they practice for life outside the womb. There are no complications to this unless the fetus has had a bowel movement otherwise known as meconium. This could lead to respiratory infection after birth. It is known as meconium aspiration, and usually if they see when your water breaks that he has done this they will have a neonatoligist there to help in suctioning out the lungs and usually there is a good out come. Other than that for the fetus to swallow it is fine because the fetus will filter it with their kidneys and then urinate it back into the amniotic sack.

What are the contraindications for infant massage?

When Baby is ill, has a fever or any infectious disease

If under medications ( e.g antibiotics ) wait at least 2 hours or give the massage 2 hours before giving the medication. Once the dose of medicine is given wait the reason being that once it is given it goes to the blood and circulation systems and the massage will increase that circulation so the medicine will hit it faster so it is best not to give baby massage directly after.

Within 48 hours of immunization

Has broken skin, rash fracture or bruises,

straight after feed. Wait until 30 min after feed

- stop massaging baby if he/she becomes upset

never wake up a baby to give him a massage

Can suboxone show up in drug test for newborns?

You have got to be kidding me...what kind of question is this? I am an addicts as well but i still know enough to realize how messed up you are if ur worried about suboxone being in ur NEWBORNS system....SAD SAD SAD, i feel terrible for that child if your on suboxone KNOW ENOUGH and understand you cant take it while pregnant......Babys are innocent you make their choices, LETS BE SMARTER

What the person above this was trying to say is, as addicts we do things that we are not always proud of, and we should NEVER judge another person for what they have done in their lives, addiction is a disease and is uncontrollable. The answer to your question is, unless they run the special test that they use for Suboxone, then no, it will not show up in a drug test that is given to you, or your child, but please, for the sake of your life, and your child, please, get help, drugs are not the way, there is an amazing life to be lived clean and sober, I have been sober many years now and my life is so much better than it ever was when I was using. There are people out there willing to help, AA/NA is an amazing group of fellow addicts and alchoholics that will not judge you, as the person that wrote the previous answer did, but they will welcome you warmly and listen to you, understand you, and do all they can to help you to remain clean and sober.

"God take my will and my life, guide me in my recovery, and show me how to live. Amen."

I am pregnant and have started taking suboxone cause I don't want them to take my child from me when I go into labor which I am due in only five days. Seriously, hypocrites that take the damn Oxycontin sont know what its like to get pregnant and be sick EVERYDAY.. Who wants to withdrawl while pregnant? And then WHO KNOWS what you had to go through? Guess well be finding out what suboxone shows up as if anything in a few days.. If I go into labor. Quitting better late than never.. and I hear that Oxycontin has no real affects on a fetus except for they might have withdrawls when born which is TERRIBLE and the reaosn I am trying to withdrawl myself, NOW. SO Forget that first persons answer.

How long does a fever stay in a child?

Severity depends on the infection, age of the child, etc.

If the fever EVER peaks around 103 Fahrenheit, you should seek medical help immediately.

If it's a very young child, or you have reason to be concerned, seek a Pediatrician's advice. Instinct is your best tool - if you think it's too hot or has gone on too long, the most you'll get from taking action is a Doc telling you it's normal and a bill from the hospital.

What causes infants hands to stay cold?

When babies are born, their circulatory system (the heart and blood system) is going through a lot of changes. It can take up to 2 days - and occasionally a little longer - for the tiny capillaries (vessels) in the hands and feet to open up and have good circulation. It's kind of scary sometimes if you see a baby's hand all blue, especially if you can't get a good look at its face, but blueness of the hands and feet is normal, and may come and go, depending on whether they're crying and moving, or sleeping. This results in the hands and feet being a little cooler than you might expect, but their bodies are designed to tolerate this for a time. This blueness, called acrocyanosis, is a normal finding in a newborn. The blueness that you should be concerned about starts around the face, especially around the eyes, nose, and mouth. It is a sign of central cyanosis and means that there is not enough oxygen in the blood.

Your son has had a large lump on the left side of his neck just above his collar bone for a few months now with some change and it is visable and is semi hard to the touch He doesnt act like it hurts?

simple answer, goto the doctor! It's serious enough to be noticable to you and have it hang around for months and obviously it's abnormal. Why take the chance? It could be anything from a cyst, to tissue growth, to even cancer......... get it checked out!

This could also be a case of Lymphangioma. A doctor would probably order some tests including a radiological/ sonographic examination.

After losing a baby how soon you get pregnant?

If one parent is o positive and the other is a positive what will the child's be?

The question is incomplete. The blood type, (or ABO group), for only one parent is there. Positive refers to the presence of an antigen for the Rh group . The child will therefore be Rh positive since both parents are Rh positive. One parent's blood type is O. The other parent can have O, A, B, or AB as a bloodgroup. Without knowing both parents blood groups, and not just the Rh status, there is no way of knowing the bloodtype of the child.

Is there a recommended limit of pitches thrown per game for a 12 year old?

In efforts to reduce arm injuries from too much throwing, sports medicine experts in conjunction with USA Baseball have developed pitch count limits for young throwers based on age. For a 12 year old pitcher, the recommendation is no more than 85 pitches per game. The same authorities have also developed recommendations for the number of rest days between pitching performances based on age and number of pitches thrown in the previous game.

  • For 12 year old pitchers who threw 21-40 pitches in a game, 1-2 calendar days of rest without pitching is the best advice.
  • If the 12 year old pitcher threw 41-60 pitches in one game, 2 calendar days of rest and one game (or 3 total days of rest) is the guildeline.
  • For those 12 year old pitchers throwing 61 or more pitches in a game, the rest recommendation is 3 calendar days plus a game (or 4 total days of rest).

What treatment options work for cradle cap?

Try the Gerber Cradle Cap Kit. I got mine at Wal*Mart! Packaged all together in a small cardboard box and sold for $9 dollars you get the following: 2 oz bottle of Scalp Gel, 4.8 oz bottle of Gentle Baby Shampoo, 2 Fl oz Scalp Lotion, an infant comb, plus an instruction booklet and guide about cradle cap.

I tried it on my daughter and loved it. I now recommend it to anyone who has this problem. Also if you try crack cream and rub it on their head it works so well it worked like magic on my neices head and she had a really bad case of cradle cap
