Are capitalist for or against a federal government?

Capitalism is a broad term that refers to an economic system in which the means of production and industry is owned privately, either by a collective of shareholders or private owners, and operated as a business for their private profit. It is the opposite of socialism. Therefore, different capitalist ideologies have different opinions of the Federal Government and the role it should play.

Capitalists themselves are motivated by profit: they don't care if the Federal Government is their costumer or if they receive benefits from the Federal Government in the form of corporate welfare or policies that support their business interests. Given that capitalists are the most influential and powerful people in capitalist society, the Federal Government is largely composed of pro-business staff who receive support in elections from business lobbies, or they are or were once capitalists themselves. Some wealthy capitalists, such as Bill Gates and George Soros, strongly support Federal Government programs that help everyone in society, not only the capitalists and business interests.

Classical Liberals / Libertarians favor a minimal government and a minimal state that only provides for basic services such as defense, enforcing contracts and protecting property rights.

Modern liberals / social liberals and advocates of mixed economies and welfare states accept more roles for the Federal Government, such as regulation of capitalism in order to protect consumers and workers, welfare programs to help the poor and disadvantaged in society and public services that benefit everyone.

Anarcho-Capitalists are against all forms of government, including the concept of the sovereign state itself. They believe that private business can provide all the services and functions the Federal Government currently does. Privately-run militaries that operate for a profit, courts that operate as business enterprises and all compete in markets are examples of what can replace government institutions.

Fascism was a doctrine of what?

In simplest terms, of the inferiority of the individual to the collective or state. In practice, this translates into vast authority for the Leader of the state. More generally, "fascism" is any action which proceeds from the attitude, "I don't need to hear about your concerns, because I've already decided what's best for all of us."

When does a treaty take effect?

Treaties take effect when two conditions are met: (1) the treaty wording about when the treaty is to become effective and (2) ratification by the parties to the treaty. Of these two, ratification usually is a longer process and so will come later than the time specified in the treaty.

What are the differences between communism and republicanism?

A republic is different from democracy..... yes everyone can vote......but vote whom????

In a republic, the head of state is elected. France is a republic country.... China follows communism..... just find about China's form of government......

------------

A republic is normally a system of government containing a Legislature to pass laws, an Executive to govern and make policy and a Judiciary to enforce laws and balance out the others. Key to this is that both the Executive and Legislature are elected and they appoint the Judiciary in some way but once appointed they don't actually have to listen to anyone. The exact form varies depending on the country.

Example: India has a weakish President, Parliament with a powerful Prime Minister and Courts -where as US has very weak "Prime Ministers" in the form of the Majority Leader but powerful Presidents and more politically involved Judges.

Communism is an Ideology about sharing the wealth and power in a nation. Everyone working together for the common good. In the real world various states have been governed by Communist parties at some point. USSR and China being the most obvious. An Ideal Communist state would have increasingly powerful councils governing them.

So... My mates and I are part of a farming collective. We send representatives to a local farming council which sends people to a regional council with sends people to a national council - committees are formed to do things and votes taken on policies and so on - everybody gets a say and everybody works together. This pretty much never happens in reality.

Example: The USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics...) and China are/were both technically Republics - they have the basic structure outlined above. But since the Party represents everyone there is no need for any other parties right? This means they are one party states - you can vote for the Party or err the Party. The result is they become much more like dictatorships as power within the Party leads to national power and as the leaders become more powerful they listen less and less to the people especially those not in the party.

Hope this helps! :)

What is the Difference between code and act?

Hi,

M. Umar

An "Act" is an action made by a legislature.

A Code is a type of legislation that purports to exhaustively cover a complete system of laws or a particular area of law as it existed at the time the code was enacted, by a process of codification.

A code entirely replaces the common law in a particular area, leaving the common law inoperative unless and until the code is repealed

Thus it is clear that a code is a special type of action made by legislature.

  3. National identity is paramount.
  4. All businesses are required to submit to government production requests.
