What is microbial transformations?

"Transformation" refers to a change in the heritable characteristics in bacteria that have been incubated with DNA of other bacteria. Some of these incubated bacteria will acquire some of the characteristics of the bacteria from which the DNA was extracted. The DNA enters the incubated bacteria through holes in the cell membrane, and gets incorporated into the bacterial genome.

Can prednisolone tablets delay your menstrual cycle?

The side effects of prednisone include:

1) Unpredictable effect (stress, well-being, anxiety, depression, restlessness, etc.) on mood. People who are suffering from mental illness or those who are having weak mental health are at highest risk of experiencing mood swings.

2) Dizziness, vomiting and insomnia

3) Acne

4) Steroid also causes chemical imbalance in our body and changes sugar level in blood, along with change in other chemicals such as calcium, potassium, water, etc.

5) Increased hunger and weight gain

6) Weakened healing ability of body and increased susceptibility towards infections: steroids affect the healing mechanism, which leads to a slowdown in healing ability of the body.

7) Swollen breasts due to deposition of fat

8) High dosages of steroids (or even a smallest dose of steroid for those whose body/metabolism does not support steroid at all) may lead to problems related to menstrual cycles in women patients. They may experience irregularity in menstrual cycle occurrence or no menstrual cycle occurrence at all.

9) In many cases, people undergoing steroid related treatment complain about eye-related problems such as increased pressure of fluid within the eyeballs which is also known as intra-ocular fluid pressure, wearing of outer cover of the eye (the outer cover becomes thin and susceptible for various eye related infections) and some people complain about development of cataract in their eye, etc.

10) Steroid may also interfere with the other medicines that the patient is taking and cause serious trouble for him/her. For example, if a person is undergoing heart, brain or any vital organ related medication, then steroid can lead to a medical condition such as increased blood pressure. Some problems in the patient may increase due to the use of steroid and other medications at the same time. People undergoing treatment for inflammation may face stomach and digestive system related problems if they start taking steroids.

Do you have the right to refuse a drug screening by a DFACS worker?

Not if it is court ordered or is in someway connected to any type of court proceedings. In which case the person would be in contempt of court, and subject to penalties depending on state law.

JUST A CAUTION; ANY TIME YOU REFUSE TO SUBMIT TO A DRUG SCREENING IT IS RECOGNIZED AS BEING A DIRTY TEST.

i was going to answer the same way, refusal is an indication of guilt, you can rebute a positive all you want, (and i have read some pretty original excuses with a witness of how the drug entered the testee),

the contention is a supervisor will notice signs of use, (lateness, absence, decreased job performance, inattentiveness, etc.), slyly give the employee enough confidence that he is not suspected of use, notice that the employee is at the stage of showing up stoned, etc., gather evidence of on duty use, then ask for a drug screen, (the same behavior is encouraged as family unsupportive therapy and frees time the family would spend in therapy for creative family pastimes, good deeds, etc)

if refused, fabricated documentation is easily fabricated for suspension or dismissal, (it happened to me, my supervisor said a customer called, he went to see the subscriber, got an unjust letter stating i was drunk on the job, and superbly slipped it into my work file as i honestly verbalized innocence, funny, i never asked to see the letter, call the union, etc., in retrospect, i now realize it was a hoax)

What are anaphylactic reactions?

AnswerAnaphylactic reactions are general, dramatic reactions that can result in collapse and possibly death. It is caused by a sudden release of histamines and other chemicals that overwhelm the body. The onset is usually quite rapid and symptoms occur within minutes. Death can potentially occur immediately or within two hours.

The first sign may be tightness of throat, swelling and redness of the skin or may be a non-visible internal reaction such as swelling of the airway, a drop in blood pressure, shock, or nausea. The allergic person may also have a feeling of great anxiety.

Immediate action is needed. Persons who know they are prone to these reactions (allergies to peanuts, shellfish, and insect stings can be of this type), should consult with their doctor about a small emergency kit to carry with them. This kit will usually have antihistamines and Epinephrine [The most common Epinephrine is the UK Epipen]. For this type of reaction, call for medical help [ambulance] immediately. Minutes are vital.

Standard treatments used to control the reaction are epinephrine, oxygen, and intravenous fluids. Antihistamines and corticosteroids can also be used. The person needs to be under medical supervision until the reaction is under control.

In other words, when you have an anaphylactic reaction(as a sufferer of one as well) it is when several reactions happens such as hives, wheezing rashes and suffercation. The person having the anaphylactic reaction will be in great pain but should be carrying an Eppipen which is a spring loaded shot of adrenaline.

Should Straterra be taken in the morning mid-day or both?

If you are currently taking Straterra twice daily, as I am, you may need to try different times during the day. After I experimented, I found that I enjoy longer uninterrupted sleep if I take one dose at bedtime or a couple of hours before and take one dose in the morning. I tried taking a dose mid day and it would keep me focused longer, but I did not get the sleep results I desired and a good night's sleep was more important to me. After doing some research on Straterra I would say you should talk to your Dr. about increasing the mg she is taking. Check out Straterra.com and it will help you out alot. You should talk to your doctor about increasing the dose. An initial dose midday might allow her to complete her homework and be more engaged at school. My 8yrold weighs 40 pounds and takes the same 20mg dose. About the bedtime dose.. Not all children get drowsy on Straterra. A bedtime dose helps some children sleep. My son didnt sleep throught the night until he was 6. He now takes Clonidine for that.(He also has Tourettes and that takes care of both)

What does take two prednisone tablets daily mean?

That depends on how much you are taking. My guess would be that the doctor that prescribed them is trying to get some serious inflammation under control as prednisone is usually only taken in the morning with food.

Is there any other medicine to use instead of Prednisone because of the side effects it has?

It really depends why it has been prescribed for you! Are you suffering with any side effects? Usually steroids are prescribed because they are the only drug that will improve or treat a condition . Stopping prednisolone suddenly is a bad idea. It should be done gradually with medical supervision. Are you on a long term course of it for life or is it a temporary treatment?

AnswerLook in the phonebook or other periodicals for a NATUROPATHIC doctor who usesHOMEOPATHY. That's the only suggestion I can make, because PREDNISONE is an odd, strong, UNIQUE, effective, sometimes problematic medication (bad side effects). Many people do not believe in Homopathic Remedies, but in your case you have not much to lose. <> Follow doctors orders and stay on prednisoneuntil you find a Homopathic doctor, then tell your doctor you would like to tryit, and he will wean you off of prednisone on a CERTAIN schedule, slowly ( Thatis after he spends 30 minutes telling you Homopathy is worthless. ) But it's worth a try, it won't kill you, and you can always go back to prednisone!!There really isn't anything that comes to mind to equal prednisone.

The vet put my dog on prednisone 20mg I can not afford to take him back as asked by the vet but I'm not sure if I should be tapering him off the prednisone the way humans need to?

It depends on the size and weight of your dog. Check with your vet. You do not always have to taper off Prednisaone. If you are only taking it for 5 days it can be prescribed as a 20 mg pill once a day for 5 days. The Vet knows what he is doing, just follow his instructions!

Are urinary tract infections contagious?

UTI's are caused by a number of reasons sometimes dehydration causing heavy crystalline urine, e. coli bacteria that is spread from the anal region to the vagina or urethra, unclean products used to wipe or the lack of wiping all can cause discomfort. Sometimes the symptoms of a UTI are similar to certain STD's so it is wise to see a doctor to check it out. If the infection feels minor as in just a slight tingling try drinking pure unsweetened cranberry juice. The acids in the juice help to balance out the acids in the urine and often will obliterate the problem. However you may see slight traces of blood in the urine and have intestinal cramping. This warrants a doctor's visit. Do not try to cure it with overthe counter UTI pain relievers and do not wait too long before dealing with this problem. UTI's can be contagious if they are e. coli based since you are possibly carrying traces of this bacteria on the penis or inside the vagina. You need to take antibiotics or drink as much cranberry as needed until you feel normal again. If the problem is e.coli a few days of cranberry will not get rid of it, som you will know when to seek help. Whether you are contagious or not, absolutely refrain from sexual activity as this can irritate the problem further and lead to more discomfort. Sometimes it is possible to have crystalline deposits in the urethra or vagina and so intercourse can really aggravate the problem until you completely flush out your sytem with lots of good fluids, avoiding caffiene, citrus juices and alcohol.

What causes sudden weight gain and gas followed by short pains in the abdominal area?

I am thinking that stress is the cause. I find the pills at the drug store called Gas X help

You do not say when this happens, but I am wondering if you are eating a large meal late at night? Try eating your larger meal in the afternoon and having a much lighter meal in the evening.Short frequent meals low in sugar and carbs tend to weigh you down. A high salt content in your food can also cause the retention of water in the body and lead to bloating. Try to go for walks after eating. Green tea in the morning speeds up the old body. If any of this works then great! If not, it could be something a little more major.

DO NOT DRINK GREEN TEA IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, at least not in large quantities, the EGCG compounds can affect folate levels in the body and the high caffeine content may be potntially harmful.

Answer

Another possible diagnosis is Celiac Disease, also known as Celiac Sprue or as gluten intolerance. It is a genetically inherited disease that can begin at birth, or can manifest later in life after experiencing some trauma (surgery, a car accident, child birth, etc.) It occurs when a protein found in wheat (gluten) cannot be properly absorbed by the digestive tract and triggers an autoimmune response, damaging the lining of the small intestine.

The symptoms of Celiac Disease are many and varied. Sudden weight gain, sudden weight loss, gas and abdominal pain, bloating, and nausea are common digestive issues associated with Celiac Disease. Other symptoms may be present, such as rheumatoid arthritis, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. Celiac Disease is also commonly misdiagnosed as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Crohn's Disease, or just "stress".

It is estimated that over 3 million people in the US have Celiac Disease, ranking it higher than diabetes. The only cure for Celiac Disease is a lifelong diet devoid of gluten.
