That is a little bit of a tricky question. The Russian language uses the Cyrillic alphabet and thus has different letters. On top of that, the sound the "w" makes in English does not exist in Russian. That is why, if listening to native Russian speakers speaking English, you will often hear them mispronounce English words with "w" as a "v".
